Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a method of regulating wake formed at the back of ship, according to which water is eject from the inside of ship body toward the portion of propeller where velocity of water flow drawn by the propeller is low due to unevenness of wake.
CONSTITUTION: Water inlet port 1 is located at a place where pressure is higher than that of water ejecting port 2, and these two ports 1, 2 are communicated with each other via water channel 6, which is provided with a pump 4 and valves 3 for controlling the water flow rate. Water drawn to the inside of ship body from inlet port 1 is passed through channel 6 and ejected to the outside from water ejecting port 2, and wake formed at the back of ship body is regulated by the water ejected from port 2. In the above arrangement, control for water ejecting rate of port 2 can be achieved by adjustment of valves 3, and in case that the water ejecting rate is too small, pump 4 is set into operation to forcibly eject water from port 2.
