Abstract

1419617 Crop spraying FISONS Ltd 3 Jan 1973 [24 Nov 1971] 54493/71 Heading AID Nozzle 17 on a spraying vehicle is fed with chemical from pipe 16 at a pressure controlled by valve 1 to vary with the vehicle speed and give a uniform density of chemical over the ground and water from pipe 15. Chemical enters the valve 1 through an inlet 7 with a spring-biased gate 9 which is opened through rods 11, 12 by the combined pressures on the diaphragm 6 of a fluid supplied through pipe 19 and inlet 14 at a pressure proportional to the square of the vehicle speed and on the diaphragm 5 of the water in pipe 15 acting through pipe 18 and inlet 13 so that variations in the water pressure do not effect the chemical flow rate. In a modification pipe 18 is connected to inlet 14 and pipe 19 to inlet 13.
