Abstract
PURPOSE:To greatly reduce the amount of scrap, and to improve the yield, by rolling into a bloom the ingot, which is a intermediate material on the way of treatment in case of trouble generated after the blooming, or is a surplus material, and by reheating in the soaking pit and blooming, when necessary. CONSTITUTION:In the middle stage of the blooming, when a trouble happens at the backside of the blooming mill, the intermediate rolled materil, which is usually disposed as scrap like as the case of generating the surplus material, is rolled to a bloom; after that, this bloom is reheated in the soaking pit, and is rerolled by the blooming mill into the product; hereby, the amount of billet to be scrapped is reduced, so that the yield is greatly improved. This method is also effectively available when the surplus material is generated in case of requirement for a small lot of product.
