PURPOSE: To increase a processing capacity of digestion and to denitrogenize effectively in the whole process, by forming a digestion bath with flow passage having a wide difference between the upper and lower levels and by incresing an oxygen solution volume which is necessary to the function of active sludge.
CONSTITUTION: A digestion bath 3 is formed with a downward flow passage A and a upward flow passage B, and between the two flow passages there is a difference in level due to a double cylindrical tank. A device, which feeds air being saturated at higher than an atmospheric pressure, is mounted at the downward flow passage A, and a large volume of oxygen gas is fused at the downward flow passage A. And thus, a digestion treatment with active sludge having a high density shall be achieved highly efficiently. Treatment water is fed to a No.2 nitrogenizing bath 8 from the upward flow passage B, and is re-aerated in an aeration bath 9. After treatment water has been passed through a solid liquid seperation device 10, a part of the active sludge is returned to the digestion bath 3, and treatment water is fed to a sedimentation bath 12. After that cleaned water is taken out to a discharge passage 14.
