Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the trouble to occur with the overflow of treated water due to growing scum by a cheap apparatus in which a means of removing scum growing on the liquid surface of a sedimentation chamber is provided to a clarification tank divided into an aeration chamber and a sedimentation chamber.
CONSTITUTION: In a clarification apparatus for polluted water, in which the guide cylinder 8 and the aeration runner 6 above the cylinder 8 are provided at the center of the aeration chamber 3 in the clarification tank 1 divided into the aeration chamber 3 and the sedimentation chamber 4 by the partition wall 2, the suction port 14 of the scum removing pipe 13 is provided at a place several mm to tens mm below the liquid surface at an interval h in the sedimentation chamber 4, and also the suction portion 16 at the end of the scum removing pipe 13 is provided in the guide cylinder 8. Thus, the growing scum layer can be easily removed by suction of the runner 6 in case where gas emission occurs due to anaerobic fermentation, and therefore the overflow of treated water from the discharge port 12 and the original function of the clarification tank can not be interrupted.
