Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain uniform thin-walled hollow fibers having improved selective permeability, by dry jet-wet spinning of a cellulose ester solution in an organic solvent from an annular slit under specific conditions.
CONSTITUTION: A cellulose ester is dissolved in an organic solvent to form a solution, which is extruded through an annular slit almost perpendicularly downward in the form of filaments, and dimethyl sulfoxide or a liquid containing it is fed to the interior of the extruded filament material. The filament material is then passed through a space, at least 5 cm, and coagulated in a coagulation bath of water or a liquid consisting of 40 wt.% or more of water, and preferably washed with water.
