Abstract
PURPOSE:To make possible the manufacture of steel strip with superior quality without installing new rolling mill, by providing a special temperature controller constituted of the arithmetic unit for the length of slab, etc., at the temperature control of the steel material in the hot rolling mill. CONSTITUTION:When the aim temperature TFaim for the exit side of the finishing mill is given, the arithmetic unit 1 operates the temperature T0 for dragging out the slab of the heating furnace, according to the finishing sheet gauge hF, the threading speed VF0, the thickness H0 of slab on the exit side of the heating furnace, and the breadth (b) of the slab. Next, the arithmetic unit 2 operates the length L of the slab being dragged out of the heating furnace whose temperature at the accelerated rolling after the threading can be controlled to the aim temperature TFaim; further, the compensation value arithmetic unit 3 operates the temperature rise DELTAT0 for compensating the temperature drop of the steel material on the exit side, while the finishing mill is running at the maximum speed. By raising the temperature for dragging out the slab 8 by at least DELTAt, through the combustion setter 4 and burners 6a-6e of the heating furnace 7, the temperature of steel sheet is controlled to the aim temperature Tmax for the exit side, even after the rolling speed reaches the maximum speed Vmax.
