Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the sintering characteristic of Li2 O micro balls and reduce the manufacturing cost by shortening the heat decomposition time of Li2 CO3 in a method of manufacturing Li2 O micro balls for breeding tritium. SOLUTION: A large number of micro fibrous compounds evaporated and scattered by heating are added and uniformly dispersed in a drip stock solution with Li2 CO3 powder mixed in a gel medium. Gel balls containing Li2 CO3 are manufactured from this drip stock solution, and the gel balls containing Li2 CO3 are subjected to heat treatment. The gel medium and the fibrous compounds are therefore evaporated and scattered to form micro balls of Li2 CO3 , and pores communicating from the interior to the exterior through the surface of the ball are formed in the micro balls of Li2 CO3 by evaporation and scattering of the fibrous compounds. The micro balls of Li2 CO3 with pores are heat- decomposed to obtain micro balls of Li2 O.

As shown in (b), an aqueous solution of a polymer compound such as polyvinyl alcohol which gels in acetone and Li 2 CO 3
A powder stock solution is prepared by mixing with the powder, and this stock solution is dropped into acetone as shown in FIG. After the gel spheres are dried in the process of FIG. 4D, the gel spheres are heat-treated to remove the high molecular compound and become Li 2 CO 3 microspheres as shown in FIG. Then, as shown in FIG. 5 (f), the Li 2 CO 3 microspheres are converted into Li 2 O microspheres by pyrolysis in a vacuum, and heating is further continued as shown in FIG. Thereby, a Li 2 O microsphere sintered body is obtained.

However, in the above-mentioned conventional pyrolysis process, the microsphere surface layer is first pyrolyzed,
Since the heating is continued even after the thermal decomposition, the bonding between the Li 2 O particles in the surface layer of the microsphere generated by the thermal decomposition proceeds, and the opening on the surface of the microsphere is narrowed or reduced. Further, as the thermal decomposition proceeds, the thermal decomposition reaction part moves to the center of the microsphere, so that the CO generated from the reaction part is reduced.
2 gradually becomes difficult to escape to the outside of the microspheres. As a result, in the conventional pyrolysis method, 60
It took more than an hour. That is, the conventional long-time thermal decomposition has a problem that the subsequent sintering characteristics of the thermal decomposition product, Li 2 O, are reduced, and the production cost is increased.

In the production of Li 2 O microspheres, it is necessary to smoothly remove the gas generated by the thermal decomposition, that is, CO 2 , in order to promptly proceed the thermal decomposition reaction. That is, in the method for producing Li 2 O microspheres of the present invention, pores connected from the inside to the surface of the Li 2 CO 3 microspheres are formed in the calcining step, which is a pre-step of thermal decomposition, and are generated by thermal decomposition. It is possible to cause gaseous CO 2 to quickly flow out of the microspheres through the pores, thereby promptly proceeding the pyrolysis reaction, shortening the pyrolysis time, and reducing the Li 2 O microspheres. It is possible to simultaneously improve the sintering characteristics and reduce the manufacturing cost.

When Li 2 CO 3 calcined spheres having pores formed therein are pyrolyzed to produce Li 2 O microspheres as in the present invention, CO 2 is removed from the pores connected to the inside. Therefore, thermal decomposition proceeds in a short time. That is, comparing (a) and (b) of FIG. 2, since the contact area with vacuum is wider in (b) of the present invention, the moving speed of CO 2 in the pores is lower than that in the conventional (a). It is much faster than the diffusion between the 2 O particles, and is quickly removed to the outside of the microsphere. Therefore, (b) of the present invention has a wider thermal decomposition reaction region and a larger amount of thermal decomposition per unit time.

Further, as the thermal decomposition proceeds, CO 2 is also generated from a white region (unpyrolyzed region) surrounded by a hatched portion. However, (b) of the present invention is better than (a) of the prior art. Since each white region is small and the distance from the center of the white region to the vacuum region is short, the movement of CO 2 generated by thermal decomposition to the vacuum region is short.

As described above, according to the present invention, the number of thermal decomposition reaction surfaces inside the microspheres can be increased, and the gas (CO 2 ) generated during the pyrolysis can be easily removed to the outside of the microspheres. As described above, the method for producing Li 2 O microspheres for breeding tritium of the present invention uses the Li
A large number of fine fibrous compounds which evaporate and disperse by heating are added to the dripping stock solution mixed with 2 CO 3 powder to uniformly disperse, and the gel sphere containing the above Li 2 CO 3 is produced by the dripping stock solution. By subjecting the gel spheres containing Li 2 CO 3 to heat treatment, the gel medium and the fibrous compound are evaporated and dispersed to form Li 2 CO 3 microspheres, and the fibrous compound is evaporated and scattered. Li
2 CO 3 microspheres are formed with pores communicating from the inside to the outside through the surface of the spheres, and Li 2 CO 3 having these pores is formed.
The above microspheres of Li 2 O are obtained by pyrolyzing the microspheres.
It is possible to form pores connected from the inside to the surface of the 2 CO 3 microspheres, and to allow CO 2 , which is a gas generated by thermal decomposition, to quickly flow out of the microspheres through these pores. the decomposition reaction rapidly proceeded to reduce the thermal decomposition time, with and caused to decrease the amount of heat Li 2 O is subjected to suppress a decrease in the sintering characteristics of the Li 2 O microspheres,
The remarkable effect of reducing the manufacturing time by shortening the pyrolysis time is also provided.

Li2 O微小球の製造方法。
1. A in an aqueous solution of the gel medium such as polyvinyl alcohol by mixing powders of Li 2 CO 3 to prepare a dropping stock, the Li 2 was added dropwise to this dropwise stock in a liquid gelling materials such as acetone A gel sphere containing CO 3 was obtained, and this Li 2
The above gel medium is removed from the gel sphere containing CO 3 to obtain L
i 2 CO 3 microsphere and without, obtain Li 2 O of microspheres by pyrolysis of microspheres of the Li 2 CO 3 Li 2
The method of manufacturing a O microspheres, while uniformly dispersed by adding a large number of fine fibrous compounds that evaporate scattered by heating during the dropping stock, the Li 2 This dropping stock
A gel sphere containing CO 3 is produced, and the gel sphere containing Li 2 CO 3 is heat-treated to evaporate and disperse the gel medium and the fibrous compound to form a micro sphere containing Li 2 CO 3. At the same time, the evaporative scattering of the fiber compound causes the Li 2 CO 3 microspheres to form pores communicating from the inside to the outside through the surface of the spheres, and the Li 2 CO 3 microspheres having the pores are thermally decomposed. By performing the above Li
