によれば、以下の優れた効果を実現できる。請求項1に
記載の管接続構造によれば、 (1)管接続具が短管部とフランジ部を備えているた

て管接続具と軟質金属製管を面接触で固定でき、その結

ても軟質金属製管が揺動するのを防止でき、軟質金属製
管の耐久性を向上できる。 (2)管接続具を短管部で軟質金属製管と面接触で固定
できるため、管接続具と軟質金属製管の当接部等の軟質
金属製管の所定部に応力が集中するのを防止でき、軟質
金属製管の割れ等の破損を防止し軟質金属製管の耐久性
を向上できる。 (3)軟質金属製管の揺動を防止できるため、軟質金属
製管に装着したOリングの圧縮永久歪みを防止できOリ
ングの復元力を維持することができ、耐久性を向上でき
るとともに、軟質金属製管内を流れる液体や気体等の流
体の漏れを防止でき、接続の信頼性に優れる。 (4)管接続具が、短管部とフランジ部とで形成されて
いるため、管接続具の構造が簡単でプレス加工等により
容易に作製でき管接続具の生産性に優れる。 (5)管接続具を軟質金属製管の外周面に圧着又は圧接
して固定できるため、軟質金属製管の接続側の端部にビ
ーディングにより形成されたビード部を有していない軟
質金属製管にも該管接続具を容易に固定でき、該管接続
具を任意の軟質金属製管の接続に利用でき汎用性に優れ
る。請求項2に記載の発明によれば、請求項1の効果に
加えて、 (6)管接続具のフランジ部の基部にU字溝部を備えて
いるため、U字溝部の下面にOリングを配設した際に、
U字溝部を従来のバックアップリングと同様に使用で
き、Oリングが変形して軟質金属製管と接続部との間隙
部にOリングが食い込むのを防止でき、軟質金属製管内
を流れる流体の漏れを防止できるとともに、Oリングの
耐久性に優れる。請求項3に記載の管接続方法によれ
ば、 (7)管接続具装着工程で軟質金属製管を拡管させるだ
けで管接続具の短管部と軟質金属製管を圧着又は圧接し
て管接続具を軟質金属製管の所定部に装着できるととも
に、管接続具を軟質金属製管に確実に固定できるため、
管接続具と接続部を固定する接続工程で管接続具が移動
するのを防止でき接続作業性に優れる。請求項4に記載
の発明によれば、請求項3の効果に加えて、 (8)複数に分割された割子部を有した拡開具を用いて
管接続具を軟質金属製管に装着する場合、管接続具装着
工程で拡開具を軟質金属製管に挿入し、拡開具の略中央
