Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for making a decorative material which does not generate harmful gas such as hydrogen chloride during incineration and has good embossment reproducibility and pattern printability and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: In a decorative material, a foamed resin layer 2, a pattern layer 3, a transparent thermoplastic resin film 4 of polyolefin or ethylne-vinyl alcohol copolymer are placed in sequence on a backing 1, and unevenness is given from the surface to the resin layer 2. A heat melted polyolefin composition containing a foaming agent is extruded between the surface of the backing 1 and the printing surface of the film 4, and simultaneously with the expansion and the sticking, unevenness is given from the non-printing surface of the film 4, and cooling is implemented.

It is preferable to use the transparent thermoplastic resin film 4 on which the pattern layer 3 is printed in advance. The gravure printing method is the most suitable printing method for its purpose. By providing the pattern layer 3 on the back side of the film, the surface resistance of the decorative material is improved. After printing the pattern, an appropriate adhesive may be applied if necessary in order to improve the adhesion between the pattern layer and the foamed resin layer 2.

As a method for bonding the transparent thermoplastic resin film, as shown in FIG. 2, the base material 1 and the transparent thermoplastic resin film 4 are combined with the foamed resin layer 2 extruded in a molten state as a medium to form 3 layers. It is most efficient to stick the layers together. At this time, the surface is simultaneously embossed.

For embossing, when the molten foamed resin is extruded and the base material 1 and the transparent thermoplastic resin film 4 are bonded together, the transparent thermoplastic resin film 4 side is used as the cooling embossing roll 6 and the base material side is applied. By using the rubber roll 7, the rubber roll 7 is nipped by these two rolls to form an emboss on the surface and is cooled at the same time. As a result, the emboss 5 is formed down to the foamed resin layer. It becomes a decorative material with a pattern and embossing.

On the other hand, a 25 μm transparent polyethylene film having a texture pattern printed on the back side by gravure printing was unrolled and laminated with the backing paper of the foamed resin layer. The bonding was performed by introducing the above three layers between an embossing cooling roll having an embossed surface and a rubber roll, and simultaneously performing pressure bonding and embossing.

As described above, according to the constitution of the present invention, since halogen elements are not contained unlike vinyl chloride resin, there is no problem at the time of incineration, and when the molten olefinic foamed resin is cooled in the manufacturing method. Since embossing is applied at the same time, reproducibility of embossing is good. Moreover, since the transparent thermoplastic resin layer is provided on the surface and the pattern layer is provided on the inner layer, the stain resistance is excellent even without forming a protective coating film on the surface as in the conventional case. Furthermore, since the three layers can be bonded at the same time and the processes such as foaming, embossing, bonding, and cooling can be performed in a small number of steps, the product can be manufactured at low cost.
