Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate a deodoring filter and further eliminate a replacement of a heat shielding plate by a method wherein an electrical heater type regenerative deodoring device having adsorbent which can be generated with heat of an electric heater is installed at the surface of a flow regulating type heat shielding plate arranged along the electric heater within an air passage. CONSTITUTION: An electric heater type regenerative deodoring device 13 installed within an air flow passage of an air conditioner is provided with a flow regulating type heat shielding plate 15 at a fixing plate 14 at either an upper part or a lower part near a sheath heater 10. The surface of the flow regulating type heat shielding plate 15 is coated with a coating 16 of adsorbent such as zeorite and precious metallic catalyst such as platinum or the like. When an air conditioner is operated, indoor air flows through the electric heater type regenerative deodoring device 13 and some substances of odor are adsorbed with the coating 16, i.e., adsorbent. As a temperature of the flow regulating type heat shielding plate 15 becomes higher than a certain temperature, the substances of odor adbsorbed at the coating 16 are decomposed and an electrical energization for the sheath heater is completed. Then, again odor is adsorbed with the flow regulating type heat shielding plate 15 and a similar cycle is repeated.

When an air conditioner is used as in the conventional example, room air passes through the electric heater type regenerating deodorizer 13 by the flow of air, and the coating 16 on the surface of the rectifying type heat shield plate 15, more specifically, its adsorption. Odor components such as pet odor and tobacco odor are adsorbed by the material. On the other hand, the sheath heater 10 of the electric heater type regenerating deodorizer 13 is energized at a predetermined interval. The temperature of the sheath heater 10 rises, and the heat of the air due to radiant heat and convection is used to rectify the heat.
5, the coating 16 is heated. When the temperature of the rectifying heat shield plate 15 exceeds a certain temperature, the coating 16
The odorous component adsorbed by the substance begins to decompose and undergoes a chemical change to water and carbon dioxide to dissipate. When a certain period of time has passed, the energization of the sheath heater 10 is terminated, the odor is absorbed again by the rectification type heat shield plate 15, and the same cycle is repeated.

In this way, the adsorption and dissipation of odorous components are repeated, and the coating 16 functions semipermanently.

Next, since the rectification type heat shield plate 15 is located in a space near the sheath heater 10 which is sufficiently distant from the rear panel 8 and is coated with a catalyst such as zeolite or platinum, the heat insulation effect is high and the conventional heat shield plate is used. As described above, the heat shield plate is not required on the rear panel 8 side.

On the other hand, the ultraviolet lamp 21 is energized at a predetermined interval to irradiate the rectifying type shading plate 15a with ultraviolet rays to activate the photocatalyst in the coating 16a, whereby the odorous components start to decompose, The chemical changes to water and carbon dioxide and dissipates. When a certain period of time has passed, the power supply to the ultraviolet lamp 21 is terminated, the odor is absorbed again by the rectifying type light shielding plate 15a, and the same cycle is repeated.

Next, the rectifying type light-shielding plate 15a exerts a heat insulating effect on the rear panel 8 similarly to the rectifying type heat-shielding plate 15 of the first embodiment. Therefore, there is no need for a heat shield plate on the rear panel 8 side unlike the conventional case.

As described above, according to the first and second embodiments,
By the combination of the sheath heater 10 and the rectification type heat shield plate 15 or the combination of the ultraviolet lamp 21 and the rectification type light shield plate 15a, adsorption, decomposition, evaporation, volatilization and diffusion of pet odors, tobacco odors and the like in the indoor air are performed. Since it is possible to semi-permanently repeat the dissipation due to, etc., there is no need to use a deodorizing filter that must be replaced with a new one in a short time as in the conventional case, and there is an advantage that maintenance is not required.
