(57)【要約】 【目的】 オペレータやユーザの介在なしに走査イメー
ジ文書の作成、経路指定および他の処理などの効率と単
純化をかなり向上させ、よってオフィスその他における
スキャナ使用の増加を可能にする。 【構成】 文書所有者識別子を含む機械識別マークコー
ドやコンピュータネットワーク上における経路指定を持
つ表紙を全てのシートの論理セットに先だってその積み
重ねの中に置き、走査の間に表紙の存否とそれによる文
書走査の開始を確認し、機械識別マークコードを読み込
み、そこでの識別子と経路指定の情報を記録し、新しい
表紙やスキャナに投入する次のシートがない場合に、前
回の表紙から走査された全てのシートをひとつの文書と
して識別し、ディジタル化文書情報を経路指定し、コン
ピュータネットワーク上に保存する。

【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【産業上の利用分野】本発明は、一般に、印刷情報を含
む複数のシートやページあるいはその積み重ね（スタッ
ク）からなる文書のディジタル走査に関し、特に、ディ
ジタル走査中の論理ページ集合の始めや終わりの自動識
別、コンピュータネットワーク上のディジタル走査シー
トの識別と経路指定と保存、そしてスキャナ上でのパラ
メータや実行すべき補足的処理の設定などを、全てオペ
レータの制御や介入を必要とせずに行うことに関する。
【０００２】
【従来の技術】近年、オフィスにおいてコンピュータに
よる文書作成プロセスの自動化が進められてきた。しか
しながら、ワードプロセッサ、表計算やグラフィックス
のプログラムを使った文書作成のためのこうしたコンピ
ュータの使用において飛躍的な成長を遂げたにもかかわ
らず、オフィスにおける情報の９５パーセント以上に未
だ紙が使われていることを調査は示している。１９８０
年代中盤に、この問題に目を向けた最初の商業システム
がいくつか紹介された。これらはペーパー文書をディジ
タル走査しディジタルイメージの文書へと変換する。こ
れらの文書はそれから磁気ディスクに保存され、コンピ
ュータネットワークを通じて送信され、コピー作成のた
めに印刷され、さらにデータベースでの検索に備えてイ
ンデックスが付される。これらは一般に文書イメージ化
システムと呼ばれ、その概要については「Document Ima
ging Systems: Technology Overview, June 1990, Data
proResearch」に述べられている。
【０００３】これらのシステムを使った走査文書の作成
は骨の折れる過程であり、幾つかの標準手続が使用され
る。ひとつの手順は積み重ねられたシートやページを走
査してそれらをディジタル化イメージに変換することで
ある。このページのイメージ群はそれから一度に一枚ず
つ、それが走査されたと同じ順番でコンピュータディス
プレイ上で見ることができる。この一括処理を通して付
番することにより、ひとつの文書の関連するページは視
覚的に識別され、適当なソフトウェアにより電子的に
「綴じられ」あるいはまとめられる。インデックス情報
はたいていこの時点でデータベースに入力されるため、
文書を後で探索もしくは検索できる。
【０００４】第二の手順は一度にひとつの文書を走査す
ること、また用紙切れ条件やキーボードでのデータ手入
力操作を介して、あるいはポインティングデバイスの動
きによって文書終了信号を発する自動文書フィーダ（Ａ
ＤＦ）の使用を含む。文書の始まりは、走査過程を開始
することで確立される。この場合にも、インデクッス情
報はたいていこのステップでデータベースに入力され
る。
【０００５】第三の手順は一度に一ページを走査し、デ
ィジタル化された各ページをコンピュータスクリーンに
映すこと、またキーボードや文書の始めや終わりを識別
するポインティングデバイスを介してオペレータが表記
法を入力することを含む。
【０００６】組織内の他の人により、文書イメージ情報
のさらなる処理が要求され、コンピュータ走査装置がコ
ンピュータネットワークに接続されているならば、オペ
レータはまたこうしたさらなる処理のためにこの文書を
ネットワーク上のもう一人の個人へ経路指定する。この
動作は最後のステップとして上記三つの手続全てに足し
加えられる。
【０００７】本発明の下敷きとなったものは、走査と経
路指定の間にオペレータの介在をなくすことによるディ
ジタル走査文書の作成と経路指定のより経済的な方法の
発見であり、これはまたオフィスにおいてネットワーク
に接続された個人全てによるスキャナのより特別な使用
形態をもたらす。既存の文書イメージ化システムが、前
記概略を示した通り、似通った種類の文書の繰り返し操
作を含むアプリケーションにおいて使用される一方で、
本発明はオフィスで手当たり次第使われるスキャナの新
たな使用を生じさせる。
【０００８】特に、本発明の方法では、すべてオペレー
タの制御や介在なしに、スキャナおよび／またはＯＣＲ
（光学的文字読取）などの実行すべき補足的な処理の設
定並びに、文書が割り当てあるいは経路指定される個人
のネットワークアドレスまたは識別子を含む機械識別コ
ード情報を伴うことを除き、機械と人間双方に識別可能
な情報を含む表紙を使用する。印刷情報（ここで「印
刷」という言葉には一般に紙やシート上にある全てのタ
イプ文字、手書き文字、素描、写真その他の情報を包含
する意味がある）を含む積み重ねた紙は走査のためＡＤ
Ｆにでたらめに置かれる。ページ（普通は文書）の各論
理セットに先だって上述した機械識別特殊情報を含むこ
うした表紙があるべきことが唯一の仕様である。こうし
た表紙があるならば、ディジタル化されたページから機
械識別情報を自動的に引き出し、それを認識しそしてそ
の情報を記録する。新しい表紙が検出されたときやスキ
ャナのＡＤＦが空のとき、その時点で前回のページは文
書の最終ページになり、文書の全ページは機械識別コー
ドによって識別される通りに経路指定され保存される識
別可能な一冊に電子的に綴られる。デスクトップ型コン
ピュータのユーザがそのユーザの電子的インボックス
（ｉｎｂｏｘ）を開くとき、各文書はしたがって個別に
識別される。表紙それ自体は勿論、ファクシミリ（ＦＡ
Ｘ）また既存の走査システムやそれに類するものにおい
て使用されているが、本発明の方式に従うものではな
く、またその特にクリティカルな情報およびそこへのレ
スポンスを伴うものではない。
【０００９】例えば、１９９２年７月７日発行の米国特
許第５，１２９，０１６号は表紙を採用しており、これ
は特殊文書の特異な情報を含み、文書のデータベースへ
の付番を含んでいる。これはイメージファイリングシス
テムへのイメージ登録という、相当異なる目的に対する
ものである。このように、したがって各文書に特定の表
紙を印刷し、これがその正しいところで使用されること
を保証することがシステムに求められる。こうした技術
はその上、誤動作しやすく、表紙を印刷し、特異な表紙
と特殊文書との整合を取り、それからそのページを張り
付けるステップを必要とする。それはまた走査過程に先
だって入力されるデータベース情報を必要とする。
【００１０】多くの場合さらに、走査された文書は、電
子メールシステム上のコンピュータＦＡＸを介してこれ
を送信することによるか、この文書を編集可能なテキス
トにＯＣＲを使って変換することの何れかにより、瞬時
の通信に使用される。それゆえ、こうした例では前記特
許のようにインデックスページをちょうど文書の付番に
使用する必要はなく、それは特定の目的のために使用さ
れてからこれが消されてしまうためである。
【００１１】本発明は、その相当異なる表紙の目的と処
理を伴う一方で、各ユーザに対してひとつだけの表紙を
求めることによってオフィスの一般使用にかなり単純な

【発明が解決しようとする課題】本発明の課題はしたが
って、特筆すべきことにより経済的で現行の技術よりも
効果的でかつ走査、経路指定や保存の間オペレータの必
要を除外する、ディジタル走査文書の作成や経路指定の
ための新しい改良された方法やシステムや装置を提供す
ることであり、オフィスにおいて潜在的に増大するスキ
ャナ使用やこれに類するものに対して提供することであ
る。
【００１３】さらなる課題は、スキャナおよび／または
実行すべき補足的な処理の設定、並びにこうした情報全
てに対する電子的スキャナコンピュータのレスポンスに
よって、文書が割り当てもしくは経路指定される文書の
所有者に対するネットワークアドレスまたは識別子を含
む機械識別コード化情報を持つ新規な表紙の使用を介し
て、こうした改良された技術や装置を提供することであ
る。
【００１４】さらなる課題はまた、こうした新規の表紙
とそこで供給される機械識別情報を読みとり反応するス
キャナコンピュータに装備する能力を提供することであ
る。

求項に概要がある。

【課題を解決するための手段】しかしながら本発明は概
略的には、その視点のひとつから、印刷情報（ここで前
に述べたように、この中で使われるこの言葉は、タイプ
文字、手書き文字、素描、写真、または他の方法で再生
されたもの、あるいはシートに保持された他の情報を含
む）を含むシートの積み重ねから成り立つディジタル走
査文書をコンピュータネットワーク上で自動的に作成
し、識別し、経路指定し、そして保存する方法を含み、
これはディジタル化走査のために積み重ねられた連続シ
ートを用意すること、文書所有者識別子やコンピュータ
ネットワーク上におけるディジタル情報の望ましい経路
指定を含む機械識別マークコードを持つ表紙を最初のシ
ートと他の全てのシートの論理セットに先だってその積
み重ねの中に置くこと、表紙と積み重ねられたシートを
ディジタル化スキャナに投入すること、走査の間に、表
紙の存否とそれによる文書走査の開始を確認し、表紙の
機械識別マークコードを読み込み、そしてそこでの識別
と経路指定の情報を記録すること、新しい表紙の識別や
スキャナに投入する次のシートがない場合に、前回の表
紙から走査された全てのシートをひとつの文書として識
別し、それに基づき記録された表紙の識別と経路指定の
情報に従ってそこから走査されたディジタル化文書情報
を経路指定すること、そして引き続き検索や次の処理の
ためにコンピュータネットワーク上のその同じものを保
存することを含む。

こより以降に説明する。

【実施例】ここで図１を見ると、ディジタル走査され経
路指定され保存される印刷情報の文書から成り立つ複数
または積み重ねのシートやページである、Ｐｇ１、Ｐｇ
２、Ｐｇ３等、Ｐｇ１’、Ｐｇ２’等が示され、例えば
好ましいバーコードフォーマットのような、前述した機
械識別コード情報ＭＲＩを含む各表紙１、１’が提示さ
れているが、他の望まれる他の適当なフォーマットでも
よい。表紙の識別やＭＲＩコードの読みとりにおいて異
なる走査方向に適応するために、後者は図１で示される
通り、表紙の対称的な好ましい隅の位置に置かれる。Ａ
ＤＦ用のアセンブリにおいて識別を行う目的のために、
人間が識別可能な情報がまたＨＲＩとして表紙に提供さ
れる。
【００１９】始めに説明したように、本発明に従って、
表紙上のバーコード情報のようなＭＲＩは、文書が割り
当てられもしくは経路指定される文書所有者ための、そ
して最も望ましくは、後でより十分に説明されるよう
に、図２と３のスキャナＳおよび／またはＯＣＲやこれ
に類するもののような補足的な処理の設定のためのネッ
トワークアドレスもしくは識別子を含む。スキャナＳは
補足的に、表紙１の走査中それが表紙である事実を識別
するためのＭＲＩコード読取装置をＲを内蔵又は外付け
で備えており、そして走査されたディジタル表紙からＭ
ＲＩを引き出しこれを識別しそしてその情報を記録する
ことにより反応するためにコンピュータプログラムが図
２ではＣＰの如く外側でまたは図３ではＣＰ’の如く内
側にスキャナが組み込まれたものとしてインターフェー
スを取ることによって装備される。
【００２０】新しい表紙１’を見つけたときもしくはス
キャナのＡＤＦが空のとき、前回のページ（Ｐｇ ｎ＋
１）はその文書の最終ページになり、そして全てのペー
ジ（ここではディジタルフォーマット）は、そのときＣ
Ｎに経路指定され保存されるようプログラムされたＣＰ
（またはＣＰ’）の制御のもとで電子的に「綴られ」ま
たはまとめられて、単一の識別可能な存在となる。文書
はそれからさらに探索、画面出力、印刷等の処理がなさ
れ、さらにユーザによって経路指定される。
【００２１】より詳しく述べると、図５と６のフローチ
ャートを参照すると、文書の分割と経路指定のこうした
方法は図５のブロック２の最初のステップにおいて表紙
を文書に用意しもしくは分割するステップをもって開始
されることが示される。ステップ４でスキャナが静止し
ているのを確認し、図１のスキャナフィーダＡＤＦ上に
ある適切な表紙１と１’とともに、ステップ６でその積
み重ねを置いた（そして、スキャナが停止していないな
らば、ステップ８でそれを止め、ステップ１０でＡＤＦ
上に存在する文書を移動し、ステップ１２で新しい文書
を表紙とともに加えＡＤＦ上に積み重ねた）後、スキャ
ナＳはキーボード入力またはポインティングデバイスや
マウスの使用によりステップ１４で開始される。ステッ
プ１６の判断でスキャナ条件の全てが整っておりまたス
テップ１８の判断でディジタルデータであるイメージデ
ータストリームが集められ保存されているならば、ステ
ップ２０（図６の箱Ａ）で走査された表紙１上のディジ
タルデータは分析されそしてＭＲＩは読み込まれまた識
別されて、それからステップ２２で、例えば経路指定、
スキャナ属性のインターフェース等、解像度、明るさ、
コントラスト、モード（カラー、グレースケールもしく
は二階調）、ディザ、ページの大きさ、走査範囲そして

【００２２】図７に示される表紙の一例を参照すると、
ＭＲＩ読取装置に対して走査パラメータの設定（「ＦＡ
Ｘ」は解像度の設定、「ＰＩＣＴ」はディザの設定、そ
して「ＣＯＬＯＲ」はモードの設定）や続いてＯＣＲの
（または他の）処理があるか否かを指示するマークを表
示するユーザが選択可能な箱がバーコードの後に続くこ
とを示している。
【００２３】ＯＣＲの処理については図４で示されてお
り、ここでＭＲＩがＯＣＲ処理の要求（図７の「ＯＣ
Ｒ」の箱で判断される）を含むならば、コンピュータＣ
Ｐは文書をＯＣＲサーバＯに経路指定し、そこでディジ
タル化イメージデータストリームはテキスト情報に変換
されてネットワークＣＮに経路指定される。
【００２４】図６の流図で特により詳細にした通り、ス
テップ２２のＭＲＩスキャナパラメータ設定の読みとり
はステップ２３のスキャナＳに対する適切な設定命令
（図２と４の「命令」）あるいは前述した解像度、ディ
ザ、モード等である内部設定（図３）を介して提供す
る。
【００２５】ステップ１８でさらにデータが要求されれ
ば、ステップ１６での調整と判断が繰り返される。ステ
ップ２０でしかしながら表紙がないことが示されれば、
ディジタル走査ページ情報はステップ１５で保存され、
ステップ１７で文書と電子的に結合され、それから図６
のステップ３０で次のページ走査に移行する。
【００２６】ステップ２４の文書走査の結果（図１のＰ
ｇ ｎ＋１）次の表紙１’が出現すると（もしくはＡＤ
Ｆが空）、適切に経路指定された文書はステップ２６で
ネットワーク上に送出され、必要なら、ステップ２８で
表紙データは捨てられる。次の文書（図１のＰｇ1'、
２’）が自動的にＡＤＦに投入された際にステップ３０
で次のページの走査は開始する。そのとき処理はステッ
プＤから図５のステップ１６に復帰する。
【００２７】しかしながら、ステップ１６でのスキャナ
条件の判断の間に、もはやＡＤＦ上にシートやページが
なくなったならば、ステップ３で文書終了信号が発生す
る。例えば、ステップ５における先のスキャナ処理にお
いて、図１にあるような各文書がスキャナによりディジ
タル化されたことを示すＭＲＩ情報を備えた表紙がある
ならば、デジタル化されたページはステップ７や表紙に
与えられた経路指定アドレスや所有者の識別子において
デジタル化文書としてまとめられもしくは「綴られ」、
保持される。スキャナはそのとき図６のステップＣと９
で停止する。
【００２８】一方、図５のステップ５で走査された表紙
がなかったならば、文書は捨てられ（図６のステップＢ
と１’）、ステップ９でスキャナは停止し、および／ま
たはエラー通知はネットワークを介してシステム管理に
送信される。
【００２９】スキャナ処理とそのパラメータが正しいこ
との視覚化目的のために、図２、３、４に示される通り
ディスプレイモニタＤＳが提供される。
【００３０】図５に戻り、ステップ１６でのスキャナ条
件の判断中用紙がつまったりエラーが起きたならば、ス
テップ１３でこれらが修正されるよう指示され、それか
らステップ１４で新たに開始される。
【００３１】本発明の原型はヒューレットパッカード社
のスキャンジェットＩＩｐスキャナとマイクロソフト社
のウィンドウズのもとで動くアプリケーションとともに
スキャナ処理を制御し機械識別コードの認識を実行する
ＩＢＭ社のＰＣ／ＡＴ互換機に接続されるＡＤＦで正常
に動作している。この装置は文書が経路指定されるノベ
ル社のネットウェア３８６のネットワークに接続され
た。原型では、コード３９のバーコードが機械識別コー
ドとして３６ポイントで使用された。これは紙の上端と
左端から１と１／４インチのところに配置された。加え
て、特定走査パラメータについての情報と目録と同様に
個人名を提示する、人間が識別可能な情報が表紙の中央
に置かれたのでユーザは簡単に表紙の所有者を識別する
ことができる。
【００３２】本発明の重要な特長のいくつかはＭＲＩコ
ード情報を最初の文書ページやシート、同様に最後のシ
ートの終わり、または裏表紙に張り付け加えることによ
り実現される。
【００３３】当業者はさらにまた調整を施すことができ
るが、それは特許請求の範囲に記載された本発明の請求
項の思想と範囲に含まれるものと考えられる。

【発明の効果】本発明は上述のように、ディジタル走査
されたページ、ごく一般的には複数ページの文書の論理
集合の始めと終わりをコンピュータが識別することを可
能にし、文書のコンピュータネットワーク経路指定をす
る機械識別情報を含む表紙ページまたは表紙シート、ス
キャナに走査パラメータを設定する方法、そして付加的
実行処理を使用し、オペレータやユーザの介在なしに走
査イメージ文書の作成、経路指定および他の処理などの
効率と単純化をかなり向上させ、よってオフィスその他
におけるスキャナ使用の増加を可能にする。

Claims (21)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】情報を含むシートの積み重ねから成り立つ
    ディジタル走査文書をコンピュータネットワーク上で自
    動的に作成し、識別し、並べ替えそして保存する方法で
    あって、ディジタル走査のために連続するシートの積み
    重ねを用意し、積み重ねの最初のシートと他の全てのシ
    ートの論理セットに先だって文書所有者の識別子とコン
    ピュータネットワーク上でディジタル情報の望ましい経
    路指定を含む機械識別マークコードを持つ表紙をおき、
    表紙とシートの積み重ねをディジタル化スキャナに投入
    し、走査中表紙の存否と文書走査の開始を識別し、表紙
    の機械識別マークコードを読みとりその識別と経路指定
    の情報を記録し、新しい表紙やスキャナに投入する次の
    シートがないことを識別した場合に前回の表紙から走査
    された全てのシートを一つの文書として識別し、表紙に
    ある識別と経路指定の情報に従ってそこから走査された
    ディジタル文書情報を経路指定し、次の検索または次の
    処理のためにコンピュータネットワーク上でこれらを保
    存することからなる前記方法。
  2. 【請求項２】請求項１で請求された方法であって、そこ
    で機械識別マークコードがシート上の属性情報に適用さ
    れたスキャナパラメータ情報をまた含み、ディジタル走
    査中にスキャナパラメータを設定するためにそこでの適
    切な読みとりに対応することからなる前記方法。
  3. 【請求項３】請求項２で請求された方法であって、そこ
    で機械識別マークコードが光学的読み取りのために次の
    処理命令を付加的に含む方法。
  4. 【請求項４】請求項２で請求された方法であって、そこ
    で処理中に表紙の存否が識別されることで、文書が捨て
    られて、そして／またはエラーメッセージが送出される
    方法。
  5. 【請求項５】請求項１で請求された方法であって、そこ
    で表紙がまた人間が識別可能な識別情報をともなって提
    供される方法。
  6. 【請求項６】請求項１で請求された方法であって、そこ
    で機械識別マークコードがバーコードフォーマットにあ
    る方法。
  7. 【請求項７】ディジタル化スキャナを使用して、コンピ
    ュータネットワーク上で自動的に文書を作成し、識別
    し、経路指定し、そして保存する方法であって、シート
    の積み重ねが走査されるべきディジタル化された情報を
    含み、積み重ねの先頭シートとその他全てのシートの論
    理セットに先立って文書所有者の識別子とコンピュータ
    ネットワーク上でディジタル化された情報の望ましい経
    路指定またスキャナパラメータ情報を含む機械識別マー
    クコードを持つ表紙を持ち、文書の表紙とシートの積み
    重ねをいわゆるディジタル化スキャナに投入して、走査
    の始めに表紙の存否を識別しその機械識別マークコード
    を読みとり、表紙のマークコードから読みとられた識別
    と経路指定の情報を記録して、スキャナにパラメータを
    設定するためのいわゆるスキャナパラメータ情報を含む
    表紙マークコードに反応して、新しい表紙またはスキャ
    ナに投入される次のシートの存否を識別する上で、ひと
    つの文書として前回の表紙から走査された全てのシート
    を識別して、そしてそこで記録された表紙の識別と経路
    指定の情報に従ってディジタル走査文書情報を経路指定
    して、コンピュータネットワーク上にこれらを保存する
    ことからなる前記方法。
  8. 【請求項８】請求項７で請求された方法であって、そこ
    で記録し、反応し、経路指定するステップがスキャナと
    インターフェースを取るコンピュータ処理により実行さ
    れる方法。
  9. 【請求項９】請求項８で請求された方法であって、そこ
    でコンピュータ処理がスキャナとコンピュータネットワ
    ーク間でスキャナの外側で実行される方法。
  10. 【請求項１０】請求項８で請求された方法であって、そ
    こでコンピュータ処理がスキャナ内に組み込まれる方
    法。
  11. 【請求項１１】請求項８で請求された方法であって、そ
    こで機械識別マークコードがバーコードフォーマット内
    にあり、スキャナがバーコードの読みとりと識別能力を
    ともなって提供される方法。
  12. 【請求項１２】ディジタル化されるべき印刷情報を含む
    シートの積み重ねから成り立つ文書のためのディジタル
    スキャナシステムにおいて、ディジタル形式でコンピュ
    ータネットワークにおいて自動的にこうした情報を作成
    し、識別し、経路指定し、保存する装置であって、ディ
    ジタル化スキャナとの組み合わせにおいて、文書所有者
    の識別子とコンピュータネットワーク上でディジタル化
    情報の望ましい経路指定を含む機械識別マークコードを
    持つ表紙が先行するシートの積み重ねの連続する論理セ
    ットをスキャナに投入する手段であって、走査の始めに
    表紙の存否を識別し、その機械識別マークコードを読み
    とるためのスキャナと接続する手段であって、ひとつの
    文書として前回の表紙から走査された全てのシートを識
    別するために、スキャナ上の新しい表紙または次の表紙
    がないことを識別する上での処理をする手段であって、
    記録された表紙の識別と経路指定の情報に従ってディジ
    タル走査文書情報をまとめ経路指定する上で最終指定さ
    れた手段に対応する手段であって、これらをコンピュー
    タネットワーク上に保存する手段からなる前記装置。
  13. 【請求項１３】請求項１２で請求された装置であって、
    そこで表紙がスキャナパラメータ設定情報を含む次の機
    械識別マークコードとともに提供される手段であって、
    スキャナがシートの積み重ねの走査のためスキャナにこ
    れらのパラメータを設定するために次のマークコードを
    読みとり対応する手段で提供される手段からなる装置。
  14. 【請求項１４】請求項１３で請求された装置であって、
    そこで次の機械識別マークコードがまた光学的読取機能
    を含む他の処理命令を含む装置。
  15. 【請求項１５】請求項１２で請求された装置であって、
    そこで識別し、記録し、命令し、まとめ、そして経路指
    定する手段であって、スキャナとインターフェースを取
    るコンピュータ処理を制御する手段からなる前記装置。
  16. 【請求項１６】請求項１５で請求された装置であって、
    そこでコンピュータ処理がスキャナとコンピュータネッ
    トワーク間でスキャナの外側に配置される手段からなる
    装置。
  17. 【請求項１７】請求項１５で請求された装置であって、
    そこでコンピュータ処理がスキャナに組み込まれる手段
    からなる装置。
  18. 【請求項１８】請求項１３で請求された装置であって、
    そこで機械識別マークコードがバーコードフォーマット
    内にある手段であって、スキャナがバーコードの読みと
    りと識別とともに提供される手段からなる装置。
  19. 【請求項１９】コンピュータネットワークに接続された
    文書ディジタル化スキャナの使用のための、文書所有者
    の識別子とコンピュータネットワーク上で識別し、そこ
    で読みとり、スキャナから経路指定されるためのディジ
    タル化文書の望ましい経路指定を持つ機械識別マークコ
    ードを持つ文書の表紙。
  20. 【請求項２０】請求項１９で請求された文書の表紙であ
    って、そこで機械識別マークがさらに文書走査時のスキ
    ャナによるそこへの対応のためにスキャナパラメータ設
    定情報を含む文書の表紙。
  21. 【請求項２１】請求項１９で請求された文書の表紙であ
    って、そこで機械識別マークコードが表紙の隅の対称的
    な位置に表示される文書の表紙。
