Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent rocking of a spray gun in order to improve the operational efficiency by a method wherein, in a suspension mechanism for the spray gun for use in wall spray inside a blast furnace for the repair work thereof, at least one of the gun slings has a predetermined load exerted thereon for the balancing purpose. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of slings 2-4 are introduced from outside into a blast furnace body 1 through the openings provided on its circumference concentric with the furnace top and the lower ends of the slings are attached to a spray gun 5 fitted with a freely rotatable spray nozzle 6 to suspend it. By moving the spray gun 5 upwards and downwards and rotating the spray nozzle 6 by a driving mechanism contained in the spray gun 5, the inner wall of the furnace is sprayed with fire resisting material in a spiral form for its repair work.
