High-pressure sodium lamps are suitable as headlights for moving vehicles, such as automobiles, because their light has excellent fog penetration. In this case, it is desirable to install an incandescent lamp in order to compensate for the failure of the high-pressure sodium lamp due to an accident in the lighting circuit. In addition, by mixing light from a high-pressure sodium lamp and an incandescent lamp with a different wavelength of light, for example, it is possible to perform color rendering to make it easier to see the illuminated object, or to switch between high-pressure sodium lamps and incandescent lamps as needed. It is also desirable to be able to do so, and this requirement also applies to emergency floodlights that illuminate the work environment. However, in the past,
For example, as shown in the circuit diagram shown in Fig. 1, the high-pressure sodium lamp NL and the incandescent lamp L are installed in separate lamps each equipped with reflectors M 1 and M 2 and lit. The overall structure is large and heavy. Therefore, even though it is desirable to use this method, it cannot be immediately applied to mobile vehicles, such as automobiles, which are subject to restrictions on installation space due to external design and weight restrictions due to fuel efficiency, etc. In addition, in mobile vehicles such as automobiles, which use a low-voltage storage battery B (for example, 12 volts) as a lighting power source as shown in Figure 1, a semiconductor inverter INV is used to boost the power supply voltage to a higher voltage. In this case, the inverter INV is integrated into the lamp for convenience of handling. This makes the lamp even larger, making it even more difficult to apply it to automobiles.

Note that the inverter INV in FIG. 1 turns on and off the switching transistors Q a and Q b alternately by the starting resistors R a and R b and the output generated in the control winding N 3 of the output transformer T, and the output windings N 1 , A well-known operation is performed in which a current in the opposite direction is alternately passed through N 1 ' to create a high-voltage alternating current voltage in the secondary winding N 2 .

The present invention provides a compact and lightweight lighting device that combines a high-pressure sodium lamp and an incandescent lamp, making it possible to apply it to automobile headlights, etc., and also making floodlights and other devices smaller and lighter. Next, the details will be explained using the drawings.

The features of this invention are as follows. That is, as shown in the cross-sectional view shown in Fig. 2, by selecting the curvature of the bowl-shaped reflector (hereinafter referred to as the reflector) and the installation position of the lamp, the light L1 of the high-pressure sodium lamp NL reflected on the reflector M, One reflecting mirror M is arranged so that the light L 2 of the incandescent lamp L placed behind it is focused near the same desired point C on the optical axis y-y'.
A high-pressure sodium lamp NL and an incandescent lamp L are arranged side by side on the optical axis on the central axis of the lamp, so that illumination can be performed using one lamp with less influence from the shielding of the front lamp NL. .

In this way, the size of the entire configuration will be approximately half that of the conventional case where a separate reflector is used, and the case and high pressure The weight of the front glass, which protects people from the high-voltage power supply used to light the sodium lamp NL, can be reduced compared to conventional models. Therefore, as mentioned above, there are two types of lamps: high-pressure sodium lamps and incandescent lamps, which have excellent lighting functions as headlamps and fog lamps for vehicles such as automobiles, which are subject to size and weight restrictions when mounted on towers. A heavy light source can be used, improving driving safety.
Furthermore, when the inverter is incorporated into a lamp, it can be made smaller and lighter than conventional lamps.

Next, an embodiment of a headlamp according to the present invention in which a boost inverter is integrated will be described with reference to a partially sectional side view and a front view shown in FIGS. 3a and 3b. In the figure, CA is a case, which is made of metal, glass, etc., for example. M is a reflecting mirror, which is formed by using a gloss-plated metal plate with the required curvature, or by directly gloss-plating the case CA whose inner surface shape is selected to have the required curvature.
LS is an incandescent lamp connection holder, such as a swan socket, and L is an incandescent lamp connection holder.
The LS is embedded in the bottom of the case CA so that the center of the lamp insertion port coincides with the optical axis y-y', and is connected to a storage battery (not shown) by wiring (not shown). Then, a lamp L inserted through a lamp insertion hole (not shown) provided at the center of the bottom of the case CA and the reflector M is connected and held. NL is a high-pressure sodium lamp, and NLS is its connection holder, which means that the light source of the high-pressure sodium lamp NL held here is located on the optical axis y-y', and the longitudinal direction is on the optical axis y-y'. so that it is located almost perpendicular to y′,
A reflecting mirror M is fixed to the front of the incandescent lamp L on two opposing sides. Then, by selecting the curvature of the reflecting mirror M and the installation position of the high-pressure sodium lamp NL with respect to the incandescent lamp L, as described above with reference to FIG. Make sure both light sources are in focus. Incidentally, the incandescent lamp L is replaced by utilizing the space in the center created when the high-pressure sodium lamp is removed from its connection holder NLS. Next, INV is a step-up inverter, which is embedded in the case CA at the rear of the incandescent lamp connection holder LS, and connects the high-pressure sodium lamp NL to the storage battery through wiring (not shown). G is the transparent front glass, and the case
The front opening of the CA can be removed and closed to prevent it from being touched during inspections and protect it from danger. In this case, it goes without saying that consideration should be given to installing ventilation holes to dissipate heat from the lamp. In addition, although the example in which the opening of the reflector M is circular has been described above, it can be modified to a square shape or the like according to installation requirements, and can be used as an incandescent lamp L instead of a car lamp, and can be lit with a low voltage such as a halogen lamp. A light source capable of this can be used. Further, in the above example, the inverter INV was integrated into the lamp, but it goes without saying that it can be installed separately.

An automobile lamp is used as the incandescent lamp, and a 35W type high-pressure sodium lamp with a diameter of 4 mm and a length of 35 mm is sealed in a double glass tube (close to a point light source).
When I experimented with this, I was able to get very good results.

As is clear from the above description, according to the present invention, it is possible to provide a compact and lightweight dual-light source lamp of a high-pressure sodium lamp and an incandescent lamp, and it is suitable for use as a headlight for automobiles that require a reduction in size and weight. It is something to do.
