Abstract

PURPOSE:To promote capacity for feeding unmilled rice and prevent broken rice from being produced by sucking and removing a part of halfmilled rice staying near the terminal end of a grain feed zone or near the starting end of protruding strips for milling rice of a rice milling roll to return it to an unmilled rice feed section of the grain feed zone. CONSTITUTION:Unmilled rice supplied from a hopper to a grain feed zone 1 of a milling roll is rubbed, while being rotated by a feed screw 2, in an area between the terminal end of the zone 1 and the starting end of milling protruding strips 4 so that outer layers of skin of the rice are partially separated, whereby the rice is turned to half-milled rice and sent to a milling zone 3 and milled by means of long milling strips 4; however grains of the half-milled rice tend to stay near said strips.
