Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve cost down by simplifying a structure by a method wherein a refuge path which causes a medium to be recorded to take refuge in a return path and a delivery path which causes the medium to be recorded to be delivered in an outward path are commonly used for one medium to be recorded transmission path. CONSTITUTION:A head cam 23 is rotated, and a thermal head 20 is brought into pressure contact with a platen 17. When the platen 17 is regularly rotated, recording paper advances in the arrow C direction between the platen 17 and a pinch roller 19. Information based on a recording signal is sent to the thermal head 20 to heat a pixel, and one image plane content yellow image plane 1 is recorded. The platen 17 is reversely rotated, and the recording paper is returned to a recording start position. A rear end of the recording paper advances in the arrow B direction, and the recording paper takes refuge along a delivery guide 15. A magenta image plane, a cyan image plane, and a black image plane are repetitively successively recorded. When face up output is selected, the platen 17 is regularly rotated from a recording end state of the recording paper. When face down output is selected, the platen 17 is reversely rotated from the recording end state, and the recording paper advances in the arrow B direction from the rear end of the recording paper to be delivered.

Conventionally, in a color recording device that requires printing by moving paper back and forth, in a printing device configured to use cut paper, printing is performed by moving the paper back and forth three or four times. In this case, it is necessary to temporarily evacuate the recording paper, so a dedicated evacuating path is provided as shown at 34 in FIG. 4 (not publicly known).

In addition, in the paper ejecting mechanism section, there are so-called face-up outputs in which paper is ejected with the recorded side facing up, and so-called face-down outputs in which paper is ejected with the recorded side facing down. Although there is an output, there are many that can only take one output form. A recording apparatus that realizes face-up output and face-down output has two independent paper ejection paths and ejects paper to separate paper ejection trays, so it takes up a large amount of space and has a complicated configuration.

However, in the conventional example described above, since it has a dedicated evacuation path for evacuation of the recording paper, the device configuration becomes complicated and the number of parts increases, which leads to an increase in cost. In order to realize both the face-up output and face-down output formats, it is necessary to provide independent paper ejection paths for each, which has the following drawbacks.

[Means for Solving the Problems (and Effects)] According to the present invention, in a recording apparatus that performs recording by reciprocating a recording medium multiple times in a field-sequential manner, the recording medium is evacuated on the return trip. The structure is simplified and costs are reduced by using a single recording medium passing path by sharing the evacuation path for leaving the recording medium and the ejection path for ejecting the recording medium on the outward path.

Further, the recording apparatus has a control means capable of rotating the recording medium conveying means in forward or reverse rotation, and a selection means for selecting forward rotation or reverse rotation, and when the recording medium is ejected, the one recording medium is By making it possible to select whether to eject the medium through the medium passage path with the recording surface facing up or with the recording surface facing down, face-up output or face-down output can be selected without any new additional mechanism. This makes it possible to use the system.

At this time, when it is detected that the leading edge of the recording paper has reached a predetermined position (105), information corresponding to the recording signal sent from the host side is sent to the thermal head 2o, and the corresponding pixels are heated to produce a yellow color. Record one yellow screen using the ink ribbon part (106)
. After determining whether the four-screen recording has finished or whether there is no end signal on the way (108), if it is OK to proceed to recording the next screen, rotate the platen 17 in the opposite direction to the previous recording start position. Return the recording paper to the point (109). At this time, the rear end of the recording paper hits the switching pawl 14, but since the switching pawl 14 is equipped with a stopper SP, the switching pawl 14 does not move and the rear end of the recording paper advances in the direction of arrow B in the figure. go. The recording paper is then returned and evacuated along the paper discharge guide 15. After that, the next color is recorded, and steps (106) to (108) are repeated to sequentially record the magenta screen, cyan screen, and black screen. When recording the second and subsequent sides, the front edge of the recording paper will coexist on the paper ejection guide 15 in such a way that it will come into contact with the rear part of the recording paper that has been retracted as it advances in the direction of arrow C in the figure. This is contact between non-recording surfaces and does not affect recording in any way.

Once the recording is completed using the above steps, the next step is to eject the paper.Whether to perform face-up output or face-down output is selected using the operation panel on the recording device shown at 201 in Figure 3. If face-up output is selected, 202 in Figure 3
The control unit shown in FIG. 1 rotates the platen 17 in the normal direction from the recording end state (112), and if face-down output is selected, the recording paper rotates the platen 1 from the recording end state.
7 in the opposite direction (111), and move from the rear end of the recording paper to arrow B in the figure.
The paper is ejected by moving in the same direction. At this time, after the recording paper leaves the platen 17, there is no power to drive the paper, so from there, the solenoid 31 is released, the main drive paper ejection roller 27 is rotated around the central shaft 30, and the driven paper is ejected. After the recording paper is brought into pressure contact with the roller 28 (113), the active paper ejection roller 27 is rotated (114) to eject the recording paper to the paper ejection stacker 33 and complete the recording operation.

With the above configuration, there is no need to provide a special evacuation path for retracting the recording paper when the recording paper is fed backwards, and the configuration is simplified and the number of parts is reduced (resulting in cost reduction. Face-up output or face-down output can be performed arbitrarily without installing any special additional mechanism. Moreover, this does not require manual switching or switching using an actuator, and can be done simply by selecting software by switching commands. It is also possible to select face-up output or face-down output from the changeover switch or from the host side.
