Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the title wall paper usable especially for sites liable to cause moisture condensation, producible by simple process, consisting of a resin layer comprising an expanded layer forming open cells and backing paper of substrate. CONSTITUTION:A resin (preferably vinyl chloride resin) is blended with a filler (e.g., calcium carbonate), a plasticizer (preferably dioctyl phthalate), a blowing agent (e.g., azodicarbon amide), pigment (e.g., titanium oxide), a heat stabilizer (e.g., zinc flower) and a diluent, etc., to give a resin paste. Backing paper of substrate is coated with the resin paste in 100-200mum thickness by a comma coater, etc., the resin paste is gelatinized at about 150 deg.C and then embossed or heated (heating to 200-240 deg.C) and expanded (open cells are formed by adding an excess amount of blowing agent and using high-molecular-weight resin) to give the aimed wall paper.

Specifically, wallpaper is produced by placing a fibrous material such as hemp or felt on the wallpaper surface and fixing it on top of it using a method such as sol coating. To create holes, pellets are placed on the backing paper. Some examples are known: those that create gaps between pellets by scattering embossing, those that create a surface that is not sol-coated, and those that create air permeability by making holes after or during coating, foaming, or embossing.

[Means for Solving the Problems] As a result of research to solve the above problems, the present inventor made the resin layer of the wallpaper consisting of the resin layer and the backing paper of the base material into a foam layer, and controlled the foaming state. The present invention was completed based on the discovery that by forming open cells, a wallpaper that is simple and has extremely good air permeability can be obtained.

As the resin, for example, pasteable resins such as vinyl chloride resin (hereinafter referred to as vinyl chloride resin), vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate copolymer resin, and acrylic polymer resin are used, and vinyl chloride resin is preferably used. Calcium carbonate is mainly used as the filler due to its cost, but other inorganic components such as alumina, kaolin, zeolite, etc. can also be used instead. As the plasticizer added for the purpose of imparting plasticity, for example, phthalate esters such as dioctyl phthalate and dibutyl phthalate, or adipate esters such as dioctyl adipate are used, and dioctyl phthalate is preferably used. In addition, as a plasticizer, a secondary plasticizer etc. can also be used depending on the purpose.

Foaming agents used to foam the resin layer to form a foamed layer include, for example, azosicabonamide (A, D, C5A
), 4,4'-oxybisbenzenesulfonyl hydrazide (0, B, S, H), etc. are used. As the pigment used for the purpose of hiding or coloring, titanium oxide is mainly used, but other pigments such as carbon black can also be used depending on the purpose. As the heat stabilizer used for the purpose of preventing discoloration of the mixture of the above-mentioned materials, for example, zinc white, metal soap, etc. are used. In addition, diluents such as mineral spirits and xylene can also be used if necessary.

Next, in order to produce the breathable wallpaper of the present invention, a resin paste (resin paste) consisting of a mixture of the above-mentioned materials, such as vinyl chloride paste (hereinafter referred to as
PVC paste) is coated with a thickness of 100 to 200 μm using an appropriate means, such as a comma coater, to create a resin layer on the backing paper of the base material [see Figure 1, where ■ indicates the backing of the base material. Paper, 2 is a resin layer (resin paste)] is gelatinized at an appropriate temperature, e.g. around 150°C, to obtain a printable raw material, which is then embossed or heat-foamed (e.g. at 200-240°C). (heating) to form a foam layer. In this case, the addition of too much blowing agent, or the use of high molecular weight resins, or the use of too little plasticizer, or the use of low-temperature kickers,
Alternatively, by using a foaming agent capable of foaming at a low temperature, a foamed layer forming open cells can be formed. Note that zinc white or the like is used as the low-temperature hardener.
