Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the loss of toner and the stain of the outside of a device caused by overflow by providing a valve mechanism which opens and closes corresponding to the attachment and detachment of a toner replenishing cartridge to a machine body. CONSTITUTION:The valve mechanism 10 which opens and closes corresponding to the attachment and detachment of the cartridge 1 is provided on the part of the machine body 2 where the toner replenishing cartridge 1 is attached. When the cartridge 1 is attached to the machine body 2, the valve mechanism 10 opens and the toner in the cartridge 1 is replenished to the developing device of the copying machine through the opening part of the valve mechanism 10 and a replenishing path 7 with the pressure of sealed gas. On the contrary, when the cartridge 1 is detached from the machine body 2, the valve mechanism 10 closes and the toner in the replenishing path 7 to the developing device is prevented from flowing back with the internal pressure of the replenishing path 7 and overflowing to the outside of the machine body. Thus, the loss of toner and the stain of the outside of a replenishment part caused by the overflow can be prevented.

If the fluidity of the toner is not good, it will not be possible to replenish the toner smoothly, and since the toner will tend to stick, it will not be possible to increase the concentration ratio of the toner, that is, the solid content ratio, so the volume must be large. Otherwise, there was a drawback that the number of copies would be smaller than in the case of a conventional toner bottle. In addition, when the toner bottle is replaced, the cap is exposed and is stained with toner, causing toner to drip and contaminate the interior of the copying machine and the floor around it.

そこでこれらの欠点を排除するものとして。So as a way to eliminate these drawbacks.

3 indicates a nozzle attached to the mouth of the cartridge 1, and this nozzle 3 is inserted into the opening 43 of a rubber seal 42 held in a rubber seal holder 41 provided at the opening of the body 2 when the cartridge 1 is attached. It is then pressed and moved upward, and is opened by an opening/closing mechanism (not shown), through which the inside of the cartridge 1 is communicated with the hose 4 connected to the rubber seal holder 41. The hose 4 is connected to a developing device (not shown), and in this state, the toner in the cartridge 1 is pushed by the internal gas pressure and supplied to the developing device via the nozzle 3 and the hose 4.

This type of replenishment device uses gas pressure, so the fluidity of the toner is increased, and there is also a margin against sticking, so the toner concentration rate is increased and the volume of the cartridge is relatively reduced. In addition to being able to be made small, there is an advantage that the dispersibility of the toner can be improved by ejecting the toner.

Function: When the toner replenishment cartridge is installed in the machine body, the valve mechanism installed in the installed part opens, and the toner in the toner replenishment cartridge is discharged from the cartridge. Due to the pressure of the gas sealed in the cartridge, toner is supplied to the developing device of the copying machine through the opening of the valve mechanism and the supply path, and conversely, when the cartridge is removed from the machine, the valve mechanism closes and the toner is supplied to the developing device. The toner in the supply path is prevented from flowing backwards and overflowing to the outside of the machine due to the internal pressure of the supply path.

In this state, when the cartridge 1 is moved upward to remove it from the body 2 as shown in FIG.
The nozzle 3 protrudes as the cartridge 1 continues to rise. It will be closed. In this way, communication between the valve port 9 and the inside of the valve body 11 is cut off, so even if the toner inside the hose 4 tries to flow backwards due to internal pressure, it is blocked by the valve body 11 and does not overflow to the outside. .

In this case, the setting force of the seal member 13 of the nozzle 3 is applied to open and close the nozzle 3 and the valve port 9 so that the nozzle 3 and the valve port 9 do not open before the nozzle 3 is tightly fitted into the seal member 13. However, if you do this, there is a risk that the seal will be incomplete, so one structure adopted to prevent this is the third
As shown in the figure, a cover 18 having a through hole approximately the same diameter as the nozzle 3 is attached to the sealing member 13 in the center, and a center hole having a smaller diameter than the through hole is provided along the inner surface of the cover 18. A soft auxiliary seal member 19 is attached. As a result, when the nozzle 3 is inserted into the through hole 15 of the seal member 13, the auxiliary seal member 19
is attached to the circumferential surface of the nozzle 3 to compensate for the lack of sealing force. When the nozzle 3 is pulled out, the cover 18 closes the auxiliary seal member 19 as shown in FIG.
This prevents the material from curling upward. As described above, the unfitting force when pulling out the nozzle 3 from the sealing member 13 is greater than the fitting setting force when inserting the nozzle 3 into the sealing member 13, so that the nozzle 3
Even if the closing force of the nozzle becomes weak due to an accident or the like, the nozzle will be closed by the unfitting force.

Effects of the Invention The present invention is as described above, and is provided with a valve mechanism that opens and closes in response to attachment and detachment of the toner replenishment cartridge from the machine body, and a valve mechanism that contracts and expands. When the cartridge is removed, the supply path is automatically opened to smoothly replenish toner from the cartridge to the developing device, and when the cartridge is removed, the supply path is automatically closed by a valve mechanism, or the loose members are automatically expanded. However, due to the pressure in the replenishing path due to these factors, the backflow of toner can be prevented from overflowing to the outside, and the loss of toner and the staining of the outside due to this overflow can be prevented.

Further, the present invention includes a valve mechanism including a cylindrical valve seat, a cylindrical valve body disposed inside the valve seat, and a seal member attached to an end of the valve body to which a nozzle of a toner replenishment cartridge can be attached and detached. When the cartridge nozzle is attached to the sealing member, the valve seat and the valve port of the cartridge are automatically opened to supply the toner in the cartridge to the supply path, and conversely, the toner from the sealing member is removed from the cartridge nozzle. When the cartridge is removed, the valve seat and the valve port of the cartridge are automatically closed, and during this time, there is no need for any extra operations, and by closing the valve port, the toner in the supply path quickly and overflows to the outside. This has the effect of being reliably prevented.
