Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent paper jamming or double feeding from occurring and enhance reliability, by providing a slant surface form not parallel to the feeding direction of a recording paper, at a part in the vicinity of a friction member on a feeding passage for the recording paper for separating only one sheet of the recording paper. CONSTITUTION:When the tip of a plurality of sheets of recording papers fed to a separator 16 is curled or bent, separation of only one sheet of the recording paper from the recording papers by a friction member 18 mounted on the separator 16 may fail, and a plurality of sheets of the recording papers may be fed forward beyond a pressing part of a paper-supplying belt 13 and the friction member 18. In such a case, the plurality of the papers collide against a separating slant surface 30 provided on the separator 16 at a part on a feeding passage for the recording paper, only one sheet of the recording paper making contact with the belt 13 is separated by the compliance of the papers, and is fed to a paper guide 17 by riding over the slant surface 30. Thus, separation of the recording paper is securely carried out, and double feeding or paper jamming can be prevented from occurring.

An embodiment of a thermal transfer printer equipped with an automatic paper feeding mechanism according to the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 7. FIG. 1 shows the appearance of a thermal transfer printer equipped with an automatic paper feeding mechanism according to the present invention. In the figure, 1 is a front panel, 2 is an operation switch, 3 is a paper drawer, 4 is a film cassette door, and 5 is a stacker. , 6 are cases. FIG. 2 is a sectional view of the mechanical portion of the thermal transfer printer, viewed from the direction of arrow A in FIG. Pi is paper stored in the paper drawer 3 before recording, and P2 is paper stored in the stacker 7 after recording. Q is an ink film, and an unused ink film Q1 is wound around a supply core 8, a used ink film Q2 is wound around a winding core 9, and these are stored in a film cassette 10. The automatic paper feeding mechanism includes a paper feeding belt 13 that is stretched between a paper feeding drive shaft 11 and an idle shaft 12, a hopper 14 that is rotatably attached to the paper drawer 3, and a hopper that is loaded by the biasing force of a spring member 100. 14 in the direction of arrow B, a separator 16 and a friction member 18 for separating only one sheet of paper from a plurality of sheets fed, a spring member 101 and a paper guide for rotating the separator 16 in the direction of arrow C. 17. The biasing force of the spring member 100 rotates the hopper lever 15 in the direction of the arrow B, lifting the hopper 14 in the direction of the arrow B and pressing the recording paper P1 against the paper feed belt 13. At the same time, the separator 16 rotates in the direction of arrow C due to the biasing force of the spring member 101, and the friction member 18 attached to the separator 16 moves the paper feed bell) 13
Pressed by In this state, automatic paper feeding is started by rotating the paper feeding drive shaft 11 in the direction of arrow E1 by a drive means (not shown). FIG. 3 shows a state in which a plurality of sheets of paper are fed and only one sheet is separated. One or more recording sheets are fed to the separator 16 by rotation of the paper feed bell (13) in the direction of arrow E1. A friction member 18 is attached to the pressing part of the separator 16 against the paper feed belt 13, and the friction coefficient between the paper feed belt 1-13 and the paper is μm, the friction coefficient between the papers is μ2, and the friction between the paper and the paper is μm. If the coefficient of friction with the member 18 is μ3, the relationship between μm, μ2, and μ3 is μm>μ3>μ2, and multiple sheets of recording paper are sent to the separator 1.
6) on the friction member 18 mounted on the paper feed bell) 13
Only one sheet of recording paper that is in contact with is separated and sent to the paper guide 17. However, if the leading edges of the plurality of recording papers sent to the separator 16 are curled or bent, it is difficult to separate only one recording paper from the plurality of recording papers using the friction member 18 attached to the separator 16. This may result in a plurality of sheets of recording paper being conveyed beyond the pressing portion between the paper feed belt 13 and the friction member 18. In this case, a plurality of sheets of recording paper sent to the separation slope 30 provided on the separator and in a part of the recording paper conveyance path may hit each other.
Due to the stiffness of the recording paper, only one sheet of recording paper that is in contact with the paper feed belt 13 is separated and passes over the separation slope 30 and paper guide 17
sent to. Furthermore, it is separated on the friction member 18 and the paper guide 17
As shown in FIG. 4, the recording paper sent to the

FIG. 5 shows the start of recording. A drive means (not shown) rotates the paper feed roller 19 in the direction of the arrow, and at the same time, the automatically fed recording paper P3 is conveyed in the direction of the arrow J1, and at the same time, a drive means (not shown) moves the winding core 9 in the direction of the arrow N. Recording is performed while rotating and conveying the ink film Q in the direction of arrow M. When the fed recording paper P3 is conveyed in the direction of the arrow J1, the paper feed drive is performed so that the plurality of recording papers P4 that have been fed to the friction member 18 are not conveyed in the direction of the arrow due to friction with the recording paper P3. The shaft 11 is rotated in the direction of arrow E2. In the case of color paper feeding, the paper feed roller 19 is rotated in one direction when recording and in two directions when returning, and the recording paper P3 is rotated by a predetermined amount three or four times in the direction of arrow J1 and arrow J2. After reciprocating, move the recording paper P3 in the direction of arrow J.
Paper is ejected in one direction, and the paper P3 is loaded using its own weight.

As described above, according to the present invention, when a plurality of sheets of recording paper fed by a paper feeding means such as a paper feeding roller or a paper feeding belt are separated by a friction member, a friction member on the recording paper conveyance path is used. By providing a part of the vicinity with a slope that is not parallel to the recording paper conveyance direction, recording paper can be separated reliably and automatically even if the leading edge of multiple sheets of recording paper is curled or bent. This can be expected to have the effect of preventing double feeding and jamming during paper feeding.
