Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect the wear state of a contact electrically at low cost by providing a reference contact which is made with specific time delay associatively with the contact to be monitored and deciding the life limit of the contact when both contacts are made at the same time. CONSTITUTION:An electromagnetic coil 13 is fed with electricity at time t0 in the beginning of the use of the contact 11, the reference contact is made at time t2 which is a time T0 later. The contact 11, however, is already made at time t1 before it. Then the time difference between the time t1 and time t2 is a set time difference T1. When this contact 11 is made and broken many times repeatedly to reach a specific wear quantity, feeding electricity to the electromagnetic coil 13 at time t3 makes the contact 11 and reference contact 12 at the same time at time t4 which is the time T0 later. Namely, the making time difference between the contact 11 and reference contact 12 becomes 0 and the making time difference of the further wearing of the contact 11 is inverted. When this time difference is 0, the life limit or life warning limit of the contact 11 is decided.

By simply passing a small current through the reference contact for measuring the closing time, the wear and tear on this contact can be ignored, and differences in the amount of current applied to the electromagnetic coils that close these contacts will slightly affect the operating speed of the contacts. Focusing on the fact that this does not have much effect on the difference in closing time between the contact to be monitored and the reference contact, we theoretically If the reference contact is set to close after a delay of a predetermined time determined experimentally or experimentally, the closing time will gradually increase by the amount of wear on the contact, and as a result, the difference in closing time between the two contacts will increase. By utilizing the point where the contact gradually shrinks and then reverses, the time when both contacts close simultaneously, that is, when the time difference is 0, is set as the life limit of this contact or the life warning limit.

Furthermore, for example, S,, S! with different opening times. Both reference contacts are provided, and when the contact and the Sl reference contact close at the same time, the life warning limit is determined, and when the contact and the 82 reference contact close simultaneously later than this, the life limit is determined.

When the contact 11 and the reference contact 12 are respectively closed, the 100 outputs from the contact closure detection aB 16 and the reference contact open detection unit 17 that detect these closures are manually inputted to the time difference detection unit 18, and both contacts 11 and 12 are closed. The time difference when this happens is detected by the time difference detection section 18, and its output is sent to the display section 19 to display this time difference. This time difference gradually decreases as the contact 11 repeats closing and opening, and finally reaches O.
Invert further. This time can be set as the lifespan limit of the contact If, or it can be set as the lifespan warning limit. It may also be configured to warn of these limits.

First, when the electromagnetic coil 13 is energized, there is a delay in the closing operation of the contact 11 when the contact 11 first starts to be used, and a delay in the closing operation when the contact repeats closing and opening many times and reaches a predetermined amount of wear. This time difference T is determined by theoretically or experimentally determining the time difference T1. That is, the time t at the beginning of the use of the contact 11. When the electromagnetic coil 13 is energized at the time T0
The reference junction 12 closes at a later time t. However, the contact 11 has already been closed at time t1 before this. The time difference between this time t1 and time t2 is a set time difference T. Next, when this contact 11 repeats opening and opening many times and reaches a predetermined amount of wear, time T starts when the electromagnetic coil 13 is energized at time t. Contact 11 at later time t4
and the reference junction 12 are closed at the same time. That is, the difference in closing time between the contact 11 and the reference contact 12 becomes 0, and as the contact 11 wears out further, the difference in closing time is reversed. This time difference is 0
This is the life limit of the contact 11 or the life warning limit.

Note that in the reference contact 12a, the time from when the electromagnetic coil 13 is energized until it closes is shorter than the time T0, and this time is the time T. A longer reference junction 12b is provided, and the time when the difference in opening time between the contact 11 and the reference junction 12H reaches 0 is set as the life warning limit, and as the wear of the contact 11 progresses further, the difference in opening time between the contact 11 and the reference junction 12b increases. It is also possible to set the time when the value reaches 0 as the life limit. Further, the reference contact 12 may be a normally open contact or a normally closed contact, or may be a non-contact switch mechanically interlocked with the contact. Further, the display unit may not only display information, but also issue an alarm when a set value is reached.

According to the present invention, a reference junction is provided that interlocks with the contact to be monitored, and the closing operation of the reference junction is set to be slower than the closing operation of the contact to be monitored by a predetermined time, and both the contacts are simultaneously operated. By setting the contact to reach its life limit or life warning limit when it closes, and by electrically detecting the difference in closing time, it is possible to accurately detect contact wear and tear at low cost. In addition to the remaining life, it is possible to display or warn of contact life warning (life warning limit) or that the life limit has been reached. In addition, if there are multiple reference junctions, it can be used to notify the wear-out of two or more contacts such as life warning and life limit. It is also possible to display or warn the amount.Furthermore, it can be monitored from a distance, which has a great effect on maintenance and inspection.
