Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect the wear state of a contact electrically at low cost by making the contact to be monitored and a reference contact at the same time and detecting the wear quantity of the contact from the making time difference between both contacts. CONSTITUTION:When the contact 1 is made and broken many times repeatedly to wear off gradually, feeing electricity to an electromagnetic coil 13 at time t2 makes only the reference contact 12 at time t3 which is a time T0 later and also makes the contact 11 at time t4 which is further a time T1 after the time t3. Namely, there is a time difference T1 generated between the contact 11 and reference contact 12. Then this time difference T1 increases as the wear quantity of the contact increases and when the time difference T1 reaches a specific value, the life limit or warning life of the contact is decided.

A device shown in FIG. 3 is known as a device for detecting the life span of a contact in an electromagnetic contactor or the like. Figure 3 shows a state in which both the fixed and movable contacts are closed and energized; the fixed contact 2 is connected to the fixed contact block 1, and the movable contact 3 facing the fixed contact 2 is a movable contact. It is joined to the base 4. A display rod 5 is attached to the back of the movable contact base 4 and is long in the direction in which the movable contact base 4 moves.
When 3 is not worn out, it protrudes to the outside from the hole in the case 6 that houses both contact blocks 1 and 4, as shown in Figure 3. However, as both contacts 2.3 wear out, the amount of protrusion of the display rod 5 gradually decreases, and finally, as shown in FIG.
Since the contact no longer protrudes from the hole, the amount of wear on the contact can be detected from this state, and the life limit of this contact can be determined.

The above-described contact life detection device detects the amount of contact wiped and mechanically displays the amount of wear. Therefore, there is a problem in that the accuracy is poor because it is often relied on visually, and there is also a problem in that the electromagnetic contactor must be installed at a certain location and the installation cannot be confirmed unless the contactor is close to the lid.

In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the present invention provides a contact that is to be monitored, a reference contact that is linked to this contact and is set to close at the same time as this contact, and a connection between this reference junction and the contact. The device includes a time difference detection unit that detects a difference in closing time, and compares the time difference detected by the time difference detection unit with a predetermined value, and determines when the difference in closing time between the reference contact and the contact to be monitored reaches the predetermined value. In this case, one limit of this contact is set, or a plurality of predetermined values of the closing time difference between the reference contact and the contact to be monitored are determined stepwise.

The wear of this contact can be ignored by simply passing a small current through the reference junction for measuring the closing time, and the difference in the amount of current flowing through the electromagnetic coils that close these contacts is the difference between the reference junction and the contact to be monitored. Although it slightly affects the closing speed of the reference junction, it does not significantly affect the closing time difference between the reference junction and the contact to be monitored. If the coils are closed simultaneously after being energized and the closing time difference is set to 0, as this contact wears out, its closing time will be delayed by the amount of wear of this contact, and the closing time difference between both contacts will gradually increase. If the relationship between this closing time difference and the amount of wear of the contacts to be monitored is determined in advance in this way, the amount of wear of the contacts can be determined from this closing time difference. Therefore, the life limit or life warning limit of the contact can be detected by predetermining the closing time difference, and this can be displayed or a warning can be issued. In addition, a plurality of predetermined values of the closing time difference are determined,
It is also possible to detect the life warning limit and the life limit, respectively.

The operation of the reference junction 12 will be explained with reference to the time chart shown in FIG. 2, with the operation of the B1 electromagnetic coil 13 as C. At the beginning of the use of the contact 11, when the electromagnetic coil 13 is energized at time t0, the time 1. Contact 11 and reference contact 12 close almost simultaneously. However, when the contact 11 repeats closing and opening many times and gradually wears out, the time t is reached.

When the electromagnetic coil 13 is energized at , time t after time T0
, only the reference contact 12 closes, and the contact 11 closes at time t, and then at time t, which is delayed by a further time T. That is, there is a time difference T between the contact 11 and the reference contact 12.
1 occurs. This time difference Ti1t becomes larger as the amount of wear of the contact increases, and when this time difference T1 reaches a predetermined value, it is determined that the life of the contact has come to an end, or that it has reached the warning life. In addition, when a plurality of predetermined values with different time differences are set, the first time difference can be set as the life warning limit, and the next time difference larger than this can be set as the life limit. Further, the remaining life of the contact 11 can be displayed by subtracting the above-mentioned time difference from the time difference of a preset life limit on the display section 19, for example.

According to the invention, a reference contact is provided which is linked to the contact to be monitored and is set to close at the same time as that contact. There is a difference in closing time between the contact and the reference contact, and the amount of wear on the contact is detected based on this difference in closing time.Since this difference in closing time is determined electrically, it is possible to accurately check the status of contact wear at a low cost. It is possible to detect the life of the contact, display the limit value of the life of the contact, or issue a warning, and it is also possible to display the remaining amount.
