Description
The present invention relates to a surface grinder and a grinding method, and more particularly to a surface grinder and a grinding method for grinding a workpiece with a grinding wheel and dressing the grinding wheel.
As prior art of this type,
In
Therefore, the main object of the present invention is to provide a surface grinder and a grinding method that can suppress excessive dressing while maintaining the sharpness of a grinding wheel and performing stable processing.
In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, a workpiece holding part that holds a workpiece, a first drive part that rotationally drives the workpiece holding part, a grinding wheel provided opposite to the workpiece holding part, and a grinding wheel that rotationally drives the grinding wheel are provided. a second drive unit, a grindstone sending unit that moves the grinding wheel forward and backward with respect to the work holding unit in order to grind the workpiece, a dressing grindstone that is arranged in parallel with the work holding unit and facing the grinding stone; a third drive unit that rotates, a dressing feed unit that moves the dressing wheel forward and backward with respect to the grinding wheel in order to dress the grinding surface of the grinding wheel, a feeding amount of the grinding wheel, and a feeding speed of the grinding wheel; A setting section for setting the moving speed of the dressing grindstone, and a setting section for controlling the operation of the grinding wheel feeding section based on the feeding amount and feeding speed, and dressing based on the feeding amount, feeding speed, and moving speed. A surface grinder is provided, the surface grinder comprising a control section that controls operation of a feed section.
In addition, there is a grinding method in which a workpiece is ground with a grinding wheel and the grinding surface of the grinding wheel is dressed with a dressing wheel, and the feeding amount of the grinding wheel, the feeding speed of the grinding wheel, and the moving speed of the dressing wheel are controlled. The first step is to set the rotating grinding wheel to the rotating workpiece at the feed speed to grind the workpiece, and at the same time, the rotating dressing wheel is moved at the moving speed and the grinding wheel adjusts the feed amount to the rotating workpiece. A second step of dressing the grinding surface of the grinding wheel with the dressing wheel until it is fed is provided.
In the above-mentioned invention, a rotating grinding wheel is fed to a rotating workpiece by a set feed amount at a set feed rate to grind the workpiece, and at the same time, the rotating dressing grindstone is moved at a moving speed, The dressing wheel is used to dress the grinding wheel until the grinding wheel is fed by the feed amount. In this way, while the workpiece is being ground by the grinding wheel, the grinding wheel is being dressed by the dressing wheel. Here, the relative speed of the dressing wheel with respect to the grinding wheel (the speed at which the dressing wheel moves toward the grinding wheel) is determined based on the difference between the feeding speed of the grinding wheel and the moving speed of the dressing wheel, and based on the relative speed, The amount of wear of the dressing grindstone per unit time, in other words, the strength of the dressing is determined. Then, dressing is continued until the feeding time determined by (feeding amount/feeding speed) has elapsed and the grinding of the workpiece is completed. Thereby, the grinding wheel can be dressed well and the dressing wheel is consumed so as not to be wasted. In this way, the grinding surface of the grinding wheel can be dressed while suppressing the amount of wear of the dressing wheel during processing of the workpiece. As a result, excessive dressing can be suppressed while maintaining the sharpness of the grinding wheel and stably processing the workpiece.
Preferably, the grinding wheel further includes a detection section that detects information regarding the sharpness of the grinding wheel, and the setting section adjusts the moving speed based on the detection result of the detection section. In this case, information regarding the sharpness of the grinding wheel is detected by the detection unit during grinding of the workpiece. Based on the detection result, the moving speed of the dressing grindstone is adjusted, and the adjusted moving speed is used to control the operation of the dressing feed section. For example, if the detection result indicates that the sharpness of the grinding wheel is appropriate, the moving speed of the dressing wheel at that time is not changed. If the detection result indicates that the grinding wheel is too sharp due to excessive dressing, the moving speed of the dressing wheel is changed so that the relative speed of the dressing wheel with respect to the grinding wheel is reduced. Then, the pressing force from the dressing wheel against the grinding wheel becomes smaller, the dressing of the grinding wheel is weakened, and the amount of dressing consumption is reduced. If the detection result indicates that the sharpness of the grinding wheel is poor due to insufficient dressing, the moving speed of the dressing wheel is changed so that the relative speed of the dressing wheel with respect to the grinding wheel is increased. Then, the pressing force from the dressing wheel against the grinding wheel increases, the dressing of the grinding wheel is strengthened, and the amount of dressing consumption increases. In this way, by adjusting the intensity of dressing of the grinding wheel, the amount of wear of the dressing wheel can be suppressed while maintaining the sharpness of the grinding wheel appropriately.
Preferably, the detection section includes a current detector that detects a current value of the second drive section, and the setting section adjusts the moving speed based on the detection result of the current detector. In this case, by detecting the current value of the second drive unit, information regarding the sharpness of the grinding wheel can be easily detected, and the moving speed of the dressing wheel can be appropriately adjusted.
More preferably, the setting section adjusts the moving speed for each workpiece. In this case, the detection result of information regarding the sharpness during grinding of a certain workpiece can be reflected in the dressing when grinding the next workpiece, and it is possible to grind the workpiece and dress the grinding wheel appropriately for each workpiece. Can be done.
Preferably, the setting unit adjusts the movement speed in real time while grinding the workpiece. In this case, the detection results of information regarding the sharpness during grinding of the workpiece can be reflected in dressing in real time, and the workpiece can be appropriately ground and the grinding wheel dressed.
Preferably, the setting section individually sets the feed amount, feed speed, and movement speed for each of rough grinding and finish grinding of the workpiece, and the control section individually sets the feed amount, feed speed, and movement speed for each of rough grinding and finish grinding. The operation of the grinding wheel feed section and the dressing feed section are individually controlled. In this case, since the processing conditions can be set individually for each process of rough grinding and finish grinding, the grinding wheel can be appropriately dressed for each grinding process, and the amount of wear of the dressing wheel can also be appropriately set.
More preferably, the grinding wheel includes an annular grinding surface having an outer diameter and an inner diameter, the maximum rotational diameter of the workpiece is set to be larger than the width of the grinding surface of the grinding wheel, and the rotational trajectory of the workpiece when viewed in the axial direction. The workpiece is held by the workpiece holder so that a portion of the workpiece protrudes from the outer and inner circumferences of the grinding wheel. In this case, the workpiece can be brought into contact with the entire surface of the grinding wheel, and the workpiece can be ground using the entire surface of the grinding wheel.
Preferably, the grinding wheel includes an annular grinding surface having an outer diameter and an inner diameter, and the outer diameter of the dressing wheel is set larger than the width of the grinding surface of the grinding wheel, and the dressing wheel preferably has a part of the dressing wheel when viewed in the axial direction. The dressing wheel is arranged so that the dressing wheel protrudes from the outer and inner peripheries of the grinding wheel. In this case, the dressing wheel can be brought into contact with the entire surface of the grinding wheel, and the dressing wheel can be smoothly dressed.
Note that the maximum rotational diameter of the workpiece corresponds to the outer diameter of the rotational locus of the workpiece.
When the grinding wheel includes an annular grinding surface having an outer diameter and an inner diameter, the width of the grinding surface of the grinding wheel=(outer diameter−inner diameter)/2.
According to this invention, excessive dressing can be suppressed while maintaining the sharpness of the grinding wheel and performing stable processing.
Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.
Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, a
A turning table 14 is provided in the
A chuck table 18 is provided on each of the two
A
A grinding
Referring to FIG. 3, the entire surface of the workpiece W attracted to the chuck table 18 is ground by the grinding
Also referring to FIG. 4, the grinding
Further, a dressing
The dressing

Referring to FIG. 5,

An example of the main operations of the
First, the feed amount L1, feed speed V1, and moving speed U1 of the dressing
Next, the grinding
When the workpiece W is moved to the grinding position A and the chuck table 18 and the workpiece W start rotating by the drive motor 70 (step S13), the grinding
When the
On the other hand, the dressing
The dressing process will be described with reference to FIG. 7.
First, at the same time that the dressing
Then, when the feeding speed of the
In this way, in rough grinding and finish grinding, by moving the dressing
Returning to FIG. 6, at the same time that the grinding
When the
The amount of wear of the dressing
The rough grinding consumption H1 of the
Similarly, the finish grinding consumption H2 of the dressing
The rough grinding feed time T1 and the finish grinding feed time T2 after the
The total amount of wear S of the dressing
S=S1+S2
=T1×H1+T2×H2
=T1×(V1-U1)+T2×(V2-U2)
=(L1/V1)×(V1-U1)+(L2/V2)×(V2-U2)
S=S1+S2
=T1×H1+T2×H2
=T1×(V1-U1)+T2×(V2-U2)
=(L1/V1)×(V1-U1)+(L2/V2)×(V2-U2)
From this equation, it can be seen that the total amount of wear S of the dressing
If you want to strengthen the dressing for certain feed speeds V1 and V2 of the
In addition, when the dressing
On the other hand, if you want to reduce the amount of dressing consumption and weaken the dressing, increase the moving speeds U1 and U2 of the dressing
In this way, the strength of the dressing can be adjusted depending on the situation, and the amount of wear of the dressing
For example, feeding amount L1 = 300 μm, feeding speed V1 = 20 μm/s, moving speed U1 = 8 μm/s, feeding amount L2 = 50 μm, feeding speed V2 = 5 μm/s, moving speed U2 = 4 μm/s. Then, the total amount of wear S of the dressing
S=S1+S2
=(L1/V1)×(V1-U1)+(L2/V2)×(V2-U2)
=(300/20)×(20-8)+(50/5)×(5-4)
=180+10=190μm
S=S1+S2
=(L1/V1)×(V1-U1)+(L2/V2)×(V2-U2)
= (300/20) x (20-8) + (50/5) x (5-4)
=180+10=190μm
Therefore, the wear amount S1 of the dressing
According to such a
Since the grinding
During grinding of the workpiece W, the current value of the
By detecting the current value of the
When processing the
By adjusting the moving speeds U1 and U2 for each workpiece, the detection result of information regarding the sharpness during grinding of a certain workpiece W can be reflected in the dressing during grinding of the next workpiece W. The workpiece W can be ground and the
Since machining conditions (feed amount, feed speed, movement speed) can be set individually for each process of rough grinding and finish grinding, the grinding
The maximum rotation diameter M of the work W is set to be larger than the width P of the grinding
The outer diameter D of the dressing
By setting in advance the feeding amounts L1, L2 of the
In the above-described embodiment, the dressing process is described in which the moving speeds U1 and U2 of the dressing
This dressing process will be explained with reference to FIGS. 9 and 10. In this case, in addition to an appropriate predetermined range of the current value of the

In this way, the grinding
In step S115, if the current value is equal to or higher than the threshold value indicating an abnormality, it is determined that an abnormality of poor sharpness has occurred, and the
Then, in step S111, when the rough grinding is completed, finish grinding and dressing shown in FIG. 10 is performed.
First, the dressing
On the other hand, if the detected current value of the
In step S129, if the current value of the
In this way, the grinding
In step S139, if the current value is equal to or higher than the threshold value indicating an abnormality, it is determined that an abnormality such as poor sharpness has occurred, and the
In this way, the current value of the
By adjusting the moving speeds U1 and U2 in real time while grinding the workpiece W, the detection result of information regarding the sharpness during grinding of the workpiece W can be reflected in the dressing in real time, and the grinding and grinding of the workpiece W can be performed appropriately. The grinding
In the embodiment described above, the amount of consumption of the
Referring to FIG. 8, in order to keep the finished thickness of the workpiece W constant, a sizing
Referring to FIG. 11, the maximum rotational diameter M of the workpiece W (the outer diameter of the rotational trajectory RT of the workpiece W) is set larger than the width P of the grinding
As shown in FIG. 11, by using the
In the embodiment described above, the outer diameter D of the dressing
