Description
The present invention relates to a method for producing a lacquer film with a surface microstructure using room temperature nanoimprinting, and a technique for producing lacquer products by applying the film as a coloring material to a decorating technique.
Up until now, color expressions in lacquerware have been based on pigments, dyes, and structural colors. The method using pigments is a technique that involves repeating the application and polishing of lacquer, which is a mixture of pigments and JIS K-5950 purified lacquer, called ``colored lacquer.'' In addition, color expression using dyes is a technique in which dyes are mixed with the purified lacquer to create highly transparent lacquer, which is then coated and polished to finish. Known methods of expressing color materials using structural colors include mother-of-pearl, which uses the color of the mother-of-pearl layer of shellfish, tamamushi, which uses the multilayer structure of tamamushi, and maki-e, which uses the particle size of various gold and silver particles.
Regarding the technology of producing a film using lacquer, it can be obtained by forming a laminate by coating an impermeable and flexible base material with lacquer paint, etc., and then releasing the laminate from the base material. Lacquer products are known (see Patent Document 1). Furthermore, a method for manufacturing a lacquer sheet that overcomes the durability problem seen in
Problems with existing technology include that nanoimprint molds are expensive for craft production, and that nanoimprint equipment is not commonly used in craft production. Therefore, the present invention uses a room-temperature mold other than a nanoimprint mold (for example, thin shell, which is a natural diffraction grating material), so that lacquerware producing regions and craftsmen can easily and inexpensively create structural colors. To provide a method for producing a lacquer product while protecting the surface microstructure.
The basic premise of lacquer products is that the added value of the products will be increased by using paints that have lacquer as the main ingredient whenever possible.
Until now, materials other than lacquer have been used to impart structural color to lacquer products. However, conventional lacquer decoration materials such as mother-of-pearl and tamamushi using spectroscopic materials have a structure made of calcium carbonate or biomaterials such as insect wings, so the usable area is limited, and they cannot be applied to curved surfaces. The problem arose that it was difficult to attach. Furthermore, in terms of the color feel of lacquer products, since a more or less brownish color is produced after polymerization of urushiol, there is a problem in that the color saturation is low and the number of colors is limited. For example, lacquer that is a mixture of white lake or titanium white known as "white lacquer" and the purified lacquer described above exhibits a color that is not white as defined in the JIS common color name, but rather resembles ivory. Therefore, if you want to express white with lacquer, you have no choice but to use a medium other than lacquer. Similarly, for other colors, in order to achieve high color development again, it is necessary to decorate with materials other than lacquer, such as bead feathers and thin shellfish.
Therefore, an invention was also attempted to impart a structural color to the lacquer itself (Non-Patent Document 1). In order to form a lacquer coating film with a surface microstructure using this thermal nanoimprint method, it is necessary to heat cure the lacquer with heat of 100 degrees or more, but the support of general lacquer products cannot be used at such high temperatures. There is a high possibility that it will cause deformation and cracks in the wood and cloth that make up the body. In addition, even when used as a lacquer film, introducing expensive nanoimprint equipment is not a realistic method for producing lacquer film in the lacquer production areas and lacquer artists' workshops where lacquer products are currently produced. . Therefore, in the production of crafts, which can take more time to produce than industrial products, which require speed, lacquer should be cured at room temperature using general oxidative polymerization.
The present invention solves this problem by applying lacquer to the mold using the characteristic of lacquer that it does not penetrate into anything other than fibers, without using the conventional thermal nanoimprinting method of pressing the mold onto the resin. and cure at room temperature. By doing so, we will present a lacquer film that uses only lacquer, but which develops vivid and mysterious colors, and which can be easily adhered to curved surfaces, and a method for producing the same (claim 1). It is also an object of the present invention to provide a method for producing a film that produces structural colors using only natural materials without the need for expensive nanoimprint molds (claim 2), and a method for producing lacquer products by adhering lacquer films (claim 4). purpose.
In order to solve the problem, the present invention creates a lacquer film that has a fine surface structure and is capable of developing structural color using a paint containing a lacquer component, and allows the film to be released and adhered to a vessel surface. This lacquer film is characterized by having a surface fine structure that allows spectroscopy on one side (Claim 3).
Decorating lacquer with such a surface microstructure conventionally required an expensive mold for nanoimprinting, but in the present invention, in addition to such a man-made mold, it can be made using natural materials such as abalone shellfish. Lacquer films with fine surface structures can also be made from natural diffraction gratings obtained by polishing thin shells. In addition, when adhering, by pressing the laminate (4) with multiple masking sheets pasted onto the lacquer substrate, craftsmen and artists working on site can practice new techniques without making large-scale capital investment. It is possible (Claim 2).
By artificially creating a structural color on one side of a lacquer film, the present invention enables the development of vivid and complex colors that have not been seen in conventional lacquer, even though lacquer is used. Furthermore, by utilizing the plasticity of the thin lacquer film, it can be easily adhered to curved surfaces with corners. Furthermore, by applying nanoimprinting technology, it is possible to create various patterns and bring out desired colors.
With this invention, it is possible to add diversity to the selection of coloring materials for conventional lacquer products, where black, red, and ivory colored lacquer were often selected.
Furthermore, the lacquer used is not only refined black or brown lacquer, but also conventional colored lacquer mixed with pigments and dyes. In that case as well, the pigment develops color depending on the angle, and structural color develops depending on the angle. This will dramatically expand the range of expression.
All figures are cross-sectional views of the laminated structure. 1-3 are the manufacturing processes (claims 1-3) of a lacquer film with a fine surface structure. 4 to 17 show a method for attaching a lacquer film with a fine surface structure to a lacquer surface (claim 4).
Next, embodiments of the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
In this example, thin abalone shellfish was used as the base material (1), lacquer paint was applied to the base material with a lacquer brush, and the environment was adjusted to room temperature (20 to 25 degrees Celsius) and relative humidity around 60%. The lacquer paint was left standing for 48 hours to dry and harden, forming a lacquer film (2). Further, as the base material (6) to which the lacquer film was attached, a hand board made by Nichinan Saishido, Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture, polished with Suruga charcoal was used. Generally, thin shellfish have scratches on their surface during the manufacturing process, but with this lacquer film for surface microstructure decoration, the scratches during manufacturing directly affect the aesthetic effect of the film. Therefore, it is desirable to polish the surface of the shellfish as much as possible. In the example, after polishing with waterproof paper No. 600, No. 800, No. 1000, and No. 2000, the final polishing was performed using absorbent cotton coated with "Sunjet L-676" manufactured by Sansai Kako Co., Ltd.
What is shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 is the process of creating and peeling off the lacquer film. There are three steps in creating and peeling off the film.
FIG. 1 shows a mold (1) serving as a base material, and at this time, no mold release agent is required. Remove the oil on the surface by spraying turpentine in advance and wipe it off, or wait for it to completely volatilize.
FIG. 2 is a diagram showing lacquer (2) applied onto a base material (1). The most important thing to remember at this time is to apply with a brush that produces a relatively thin film, such as a ball brush (made from cat hair) or a nylon brush, to avoid shrinkage. If shrinkage occurs, not only will the surface microstructure not be formed, but the paint may remain in the mold and contaminate the mold.
FIG. 3 shows the film (2) being peeled off from the substrate (1) using a scalpel, scraper, etc. at 24° C. and 60 RH for about 3 days after curing. Peeling must be performed after confirming that the film does not tear even when pressed strongly with the finger and is completely cured.
When peeling, extreme care must be taken not to damage the base material. To do this, it is necessary to prepare the tools used for peeling in advance. This time, the scalpel and scraper used for peeling were polished with Matsunaga Toishi Co., Ltd.'s "King Deluxe #1000," and then finished with the same "King Finishing Grind (#6000)."The final finishing was done by Musashino Metal Industry Co., Ltd. It was polished and tailored using the ``Pocket Arkansas Hard'' and ``Translucent'' oil stones that we sell.
At this point, it is necessary to determine the orientation of the finished film while comparing it with the shape of the design and taking into consideration the incident light. This is because the fine structure of this lacquer film on the surface is protected with a masking sheet before cutting, so it is not possible to check the reflection after cutting like with ordinary mother-of-pearl.
4 to 5 are masking steps.
FIG. 4 is a diagram showing the lacquer film (2) peeled off in FIG. 3 adhered to masking sheet (3) #1.
When lacquer is deposited on top of the surface microstructure of a lacquer film, the surface microstructure is buried and no structural color occurs. In order to use lacquer film in the polishing technique, it is important to create a surface that is flush with the film while preserving the surface microstructure. A masking sheet is used here to protect the surface microstructure.
At this time, using a low-tack masking sheet will prevent you from accidentally peeling off the entire film when removing it later. Also, when adhering, please be careful to always adhere the adhesive part of the masking sheet to the surface microstructure part of the lacquer film.
FIG. 5 shows a masking sheet (3) #2 further pasted on the lacquer film with masking sheet prepared in FIG. 4 for reinforcement. (3) Attach the adhesive side of
FIG. 6 shows a molding process in which the film of FIG. 5 is cut into a free shape and a laminate (4) is molded.
7 to 10 show the adhesion process.
FIG. 7 shows the cut lacquer film with masking sheet attached to a new masking sheet (3) #3.
The reason for doing this is that if button lacquer is directly applied to the film in the state shown in Figure 6 and adhered to the surface, the film will warp in its contours and look floating. If this happens, the film will look uneven, and the decorative effect will deteriorate. Therefore, when pasting, it is important to uniformly press the entire surface using masking sheet (3) #3.
FIG. 8 shows the film shown in FIG. 7 coated with button lacquer (5). Button lacquer (5) is applied on top of the lacquer film (2).
FIG. 9 shows a lacquer film pressure-bonded to the surface of the base material (6) to which it is attached. The target base material (6) is assumed to be a surface that has been coated with lacquer and polished.
At this time, the masking sheet (3) #3 adhered in FIG. 7 is evenly pressed all over. In this state, it is left in an atmosphere of 24° C. and 60 RH for at least 3 days.
FIG. 10 is a diagram showing masking sheet (3) #3 being peeled off with button lacquer (5) completely cured. The only masking sheet (3) to be removed at this time is #3, and #1 and #2 are not removed until the final step in Figure 17.
11 to 16 are the steps of painting and polishing.
FIG. 11 is a diagram showing lacquer being applied with a brush onto the target base material (6). After that, lacquer is applied to the thickness of the lacquer film and button lacquer, and the polishing is repeated in between. In order to polish the film smoothly, it is necessary to calculate the thickness of the lacquer film and the button lacquer, and decide the number of times to apply it accordingly, and it is desirable to apply and polish about three times.
FIG. 12 is a diagram of lacquer film (7) #1 polished with Suruga charcoal. At this time, it is better to remove the lacquer on the masking sheet, but if the lacquer is polished too strongly, the masking sheet may peel off, so it may be removed as much as possible. The purpose of polishing is to smooth out surface irregularities.
In FIG. 13, lacquer was applied for the second time on the surface of FIG. 12 to produce lacquer film (7) #2.
In FIG. 14, like FIG. 12, polishing was performed using Suruga charcoal.
FIG. 15 shows a third application of lacquer on the polishing shown in FIG. 14 to produce lacquer film (7) #3.
FIG. 16 shows a state in which it has been polished in the same manner as in FIG. 12, and finished and polished using a general lacquer technique.
Figure 17 shows the masking sheet removed after all finishing and polishing is completed. At this time, use tweezers to remove the film with great care so as not to damage it. This completes the lacquer product (8).
The present invention is mainly useful in the lacquer industry or in arts and crafts using lacquer. As shown in
Further, as in
