Description
The present invention relates to a thermoelectric conversion element.
A thermoelectric conversion element is an element capable of mutually converting thermal energy and electric energy. By installing the thermoelectric conversion element in an environment where a temperature difference occurs at both ends thereof, electric power can be taken out from the thermoelectric conversion element without the need for a moving part. For example, electrical energy can be generated from waste heat. Therefore, the power generation technology using the thermoelectric conversion element is highly expected as an energy harvesting technology for recovering and utilizing unused energy around us.
If the thermoelectric conversion element can be used as, for example, a distributed self-sustaining power source, it can be used as a power source for a large-scale sensor network, wearable electronics, and the like. In particular, when a thermoelectric conversion material made of an organic substance is used, the thermoelectric conversion layer can be formed by a printing pattern, so that it is possible to reduce the weight, reduce the cost, and increase the output due to a large area.

The performance of the thermoelectric conversion material is evaluated by the power factor PF (= S 2 σ). Here, S is the Seebeck coefficient and σ is the conductivity. Therefore, the higher the conductivity and thermoelectromotive force, and the lower the thermal conductivity, the higher the thermoelectric conversion performance. Therefore, it has been proposed to include a substance that causes phonon scattering in the thermoelectric conversion material (

<Conductivity: σ>
The surface resistivity (Ω / □) of the thermoelectric conversion layer was measured for each of the No. 1 to No. 7 test pieces using the resistivity meter “Loresta GP” manufactured by Mitsubishi Chemical Analytec Co., Ltd. In addition, the thickness (cm) of the thermoelectric conversion layer of each test piece was measured with a stylus type film thickness meter. Then, the conductivity (S / cm) was calculated from these measured values. By dividing the σ (conductivity) value of each test piece by the σ value of No. 7, a relative value based on the value of No. 7 was obtained.
<Seebeck coefficient: S>

Next, using a Pelche element, the bonding position of one
<Thermoelectric performance: PF>
Using the relative value of the conductivity σ thus obtained and the relative value of the Seebeck coefficient S, the PF value (relative value) at room temperature was calculated according to the relational expression of PF = S2 σ.
The above results are shown in Table 1. Further, the relationship between the cellulose nanofiber content (relative value), the conductivity and the Seebeck coefficient (relative value) of the material constituting the thermoelectric conversion layer obtained from this result is shown in FIG. 5, and the cellulose nanofiber content and PF. The relationship with the value (relative value) is shown graphically in FIG.
From this result, the following can be seen.
The No. 1 to 5 test pieces having a thermoelectric conversion layer made of a material containing cellulose nanofibers in a mass ratio of 1 or more and 30 or less with respect to 100 polythiophene-based compounds are made of polythiophene-based compounds (cellulose nanofibers). A PF value of 1.2 times or more that of the No. 7 test piece having a thermoelectric conversion layer was obtained.
Further, the No. 1 to 3 test pieces having a thermoelectric conversion layer made of a material containing cellulose nanofibers in a mass ratio of 1 or more and 10 or less with respect to 100 of the polythiophene-based compound are made of the polythiophene-based compound (cellulose). A ZT value of 1.4 times or more that of the No. 7 test piece having a thermoelectric conversion layer (which does not contain nanofibers) was obtained. That is, by adding the cellulose nanofibers to the
Even when the amount of the cellulose nanofibers added is 1 with respect to the polythiophene-based
From the above, it is preferable that the thermoelectric conversion layer made of a material containing the polythiophene-based compound and the cellulose nanofibers contains the cellulose nanofibers at a ratio of 1 or more and 30 or less with respect to the polythiophene-based
