Description
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing an electrode plate by forming a mixture layer of an electrode active material on the surface of a conductor foil. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method for manufacturing an electrode plate in which the accuracy of the formation width of the mixture layer on the surface of the conductor foil is improved.
Conventionally, for example, as shown in FIG. 5A of Patent Document 1, an electrode plate (functional sheet 9) has been manufactured by using three rolls. That is, the raw material (paint 4) of the mixture layer is passed between the first (left) and second (center) rolls to form a thin layer, and the conductor is passed between the second and third (right) rolls. It is transferred to the foil (base material 7) to form an electrode plate.
However, the above-mentioned conventional manufacturing method has the following problems. That is, according to the above manufacturing method, the accuracy of the width of the mixture layer in the manufactured electrode plate is low. For this reason, both edges of the mixture layer may be wavy. As a result, the capacity of the manufactured battery may not be as designed. By simply regulating the transfer width of the mixture layer with a regulating member, it was not possible to prevent the material of the mixture layer from protruding outward in the width direction.
The present invention has been made to solve the problems of the above-mentioned conventional techniques. That is, the problem is to provide a method for manufacturing an electrode plate in which a mixture layer is transferred on the surface of a conductor foil with a desired width.
In one aspect of the present invention, the electrode plate is manufactured by forming a mixture layer, which is a layer of a wet powder containing a powder of an electrode active material and a volatile liquid, on the surface of a strip-shaped conductor foil. A second method of manufacturing, in which the rotating first roll is arranged parallel to the first roll and with a gap between the first roll, and rotates in a forward direction with respect to the rotation of the first roll. A gap is provided between the roll and the second roll, which is longer than the axial length of the second roll, parallel to the second roll, and both ends in the axial direction of the second roll are included in the axial range. It has a third roll, which is arranged in such a manner and rotates in a forward direction with respect to the rotation of the second roll, and the conductor foil is not passed through the gap between the first roll and the second roll, and the second roll and the second roll. This is a method performed by using an apparatus configured to be hung on the third roll so as to pass through a gap between the third roll and to be conveyed with the rotation of the third roll.
In the method for manufacturing an electrode plate in this embodiment, the wet powder is supplied from the upstream side of the rotation of the first roll and the second roll to the gap between the first roll and the second roll, so that the first roll is manufactured. The film forming step of forming the mixture layer on the surface of the second roll on the downstream side of the rotation of the second roll from the gap between the and the second roll, and the mixture layer formed in the film forming step. By transferring from the surface of the second roll to the surface of the conductor foil in the gap between the second roll and the third roll, the second roll and the second roll and the third roll can be transferred from the gap between the second roll and the third roll. A transfer step of obtaining an electrode plate on the downstream side of the rotation of the third roll is performed.
Here, in the present embodiment, the transfer step is performed on the outside of both ends in the axial direction of the second roll at a position on the upstream side of the rotation of the second roll and the third roll with respect to the gap between the second roll and the third roll. The control member that regulates the width of the mixture layer to be transferred on the surface of the conductor foil is placed on the conductor foil of the above, and the supply width of the wet powder in the film forming process is controlled between the regulating members in the transfer process. The value of the malleability of the wet powder used in the film forming process is represented by Z (μm), and the gap between the conductor foil and the regulating member in the transfer process is Y ( When expressed in μm)
Y ≤ (11/25) * Z-12
To hold.
In the method for manufacturing an electrode plate in the above embodiment, a mixture layer, which is a thin layer of wet powder, is formed on the surface of the second roll in the film forming step, and the mixture layer is formed on the surface of the conductor foil in the transfer step. An electrode plate is manufactured by transferring. Here, in this embodiment, two measures are taken because the mixture layer protrudes in the width direction in the transfer process. The first measure is to make the supply width of the wet powder in the film forming process smaller than the transfer width of the mixture layer in the transfer process (90% or more and 95% or less).
Another measure is to specify the combination of the fluidity of the wet powder used in the film formation process and the gap between the conductor foil and the regulatory member in the transfer process. In this embodiment, ductility is used as an index of fluidity. Spreadability is defined as the thickness of the wet powder between the flat plates when 0.5 g of wet powder in the form of dumplings is sandwiched between two flat plates and pressed with a load of 6.5 kN. Good transfer can be performed by making the combination of ductility and the gap meet the above conditions. By the above two measures, the mixture layer can be transferred on the surface of the conductor foil with the desired width.
According to this configuration, there is provided a method for manufacturing an electrode plate in which a mixture layer is transferred on the surface of a conductor foil with a desired width.
Hereinafter, embodiments embodying the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. This embodiment embodies the present invention as a method for manufacturing the electrode plate 1 using the apparatus shown in FIG. First, the configuration of the device of FIG. 1 will be briefly described. The apparatus of FIG. 1 has a
In the apparatus of FIG. 1 configured as described above, the
Here, two processes, a film forming step and a transfer step, are performed until the
In the apparatus shown in FIG. 1, the surface speed of the
The film-forming
The device of FIG. 1 is further provided with a regulating
The relationship between the length of each roll (11 to 13) in the apparatus of FIG. 1 and the regulating
The regulating
The portion in the vicinity of one of the regulating
On the other hand, if the amount of the film-forming
The protrusion of the
The main factors that determine whether or not protrusion occurs are the fluidity of the film-forming
Here, as an index of the fluidity of the film-forming
The spreadability and the swing range of the gap in this test are as follows.
・ Spreadability 45-250 (μm)
・ Gap 10-60 (μm)
In this swing range, the above-mentioned manufacturing method of the electrode plate 1 by the apparatus shown in FIG. 1 and the like was carried out, and the presence or absence of protrusion was checked. At that time, the transport speed of the
Y = (11/25)*Z−12
When a straight line is drawn at the boundary between the white circle area (without protrusion) and the black circle area (with protrusion) in FIG. 6, when the ductility value is represented by Z and the gap is represented by Y, the straight line is as follows in the mathematical formula. It is expressed as.
Y = (11/25) * Z-12
Y ≦ (11/25)*Z−12
Therefore, in FIG. 6, the region on the lower right side where no protrusion occurs is represented by the following inequality. If the combination of the spread value Z and the gap Y satisfies this inequality, it can be said that the electrode plate 1 can be manufactured without causing protrusion.
Y ≤ (11/25) * Z-12
In FIG. 6, the plot is omitted for the portion where the malleability exceeds 200 μm. In such a region with high ductility (low fluidity), it can be considered from the above that no protrusion occurs regardless of the gap. Moreover, although only the upper limit is specified for the gap Y in the above inequality, it is desirable to secure a gap Y of 10 μm or more. This is to prevent wear of the regulating
As described in detail above, according to the present embodiment, in the method of manufacturing the electrode plate 1 by performing the film forming step and the transfer step using three rolls (11 to 13), the
It should be noted that the present embodiment is merely an example and does not limit the present invention in any way. A transfer step of obtaining the electrode plate on the downstream side of the rotation of the second roll and the third roll from the gap between the second roll and the third roll is performed.
The transfer step is performed outside of both ends of the second roll in the axial direction at a position upstream of the rotation of the second roll and the third roll with respect to the gap between the second roll and the third roll. On the conductor foil of the above, a regulating member for regulating the width of the mixture layer transferred onto the surface of the conductor foil is arranged.
The supply width of the wet powder in the film forming step is 90% or more and 95% or less of the regulation width between the regulating members in the transfer step.
When the ductility value of the wet powder to be subjected to the film forming step is represented by Z (μm) and the gap between the conductor foil and the regulating member in the transfer step is represented by Y (μm). ,
Y ≤ (11/25) * Z-12
