Description
The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for treating organic waste.
Organic waste is first dehydrated by a dehydrator and then dried by a dryer. Dried organic waste is often treated as industrial waste or landfill, but in recent years it has also been used as a fuel resource or fertilizer.
However, since the dried organic waste has an odor, there is a problem that farmers often avoid using it as fertilizer.
Further, even when transporting dry organic waste, there is a problem that when the waste is dropped from the truck bed, the fallen matter smells.
Therefore, a main object of the present invention is to obtain a dry organic waste having less malodor.
T=Y/X ・・・式1
The present invention that solves the above problems is as follows.
(1) A method for treating organic waste by drying the organic waste and recovering the dried product.
Hot air generation process to generate hot air and
A drying process in which the organic waste is brought into contact with the hot air in a continuous hot air dryer to dry the organic waste,
A method for treating organic waste, which comprises a solid air separation step of separating the dried matter contained in the exhaust gas from the continuous hot air dryer.
A method for treating organic waste, wherein the average residence time T defined by the following formula 1 in the drying step is 0.05 to 10 minutes.
T = Y / X ・ ・ ・ Equation 1
Here, T is the average residence time (minutes) at which the organic waste stays in the continuous hot air dryer, and X is the amount of organic waste supplied to the continuous hot air dryer (kg-ds /). Minutes), and Y is the amount of organic waste held (kg-ds) in the continuous hot air dryer.
(Action effect)
In the operation of the conventional organic waste treatment apparatus, the average residence time T from the supply of the organic waste to the continuous hot air dryer to the discharge is about 30 minutes. The cause of the offensive odor of the final product has been unknown for a long time, but the present inventor has determined that excessive drying of organic waste causes denaturation of proteins and odor due to charring. It was. Then, the average residence time at which no malodor was generated was thoroughly examined, and a method for preventing the generation of malodor was created by setting the average residence time to 10 minutes or less. In order to prevent the generation of foul odors, it is more preferable that the average residence time T at which the organic waste stays in the continuous hot air dryer is in the range of 0.05 minutes to 10 minutes, and it is set to 2 to 5 minutes. Is even more preferable.
When the organic waste is supplied to the continuous hot air dryer so that the average residence time T is within the range of 0.05 minutes to 10 minutes, the time for the organic waste to stay in the continuous hot air dryer is short. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the organic waste from being thermally denatured at a high temperature to generate a foul odor. As described above, in the present invention, by controlling the amount of organic waste supplied to the continuous hot air dryer, the time for the organic waste to stay in the dryer is controlled, and a foul odor is generated from the dried product. I'm preventing that.
The average residence time is an average value of the time from when the organic waste is supplied to the continuous hot air dryer to when it is discharged. The average residence time T (minutes) is Y (the amount of organic waste held by the continuous hot air dryer (kg-ds)) and X (the amount of organic waste supplied to the continuous hot air dryer (kg)). It can be calculated by dividing by -ds / min)).
(2) The properties of the organic waste are measured before supplying the organic waste to the continuous hot air dryer, and the organic waste unsuitable for drying of the continuous hot air dryer is not supplied. ) The method for treating organic waste described.
(Action effect)
When organic waste with properties unsuitable for drying is supplied to a continuous hot air dryer, poor drying causes a foul odor. Specifically, when organic waste having a large particle size (maximum particle size, average particle size) or organic waste having a high water content is provided, a sulfur-based (hydrogen sulfide, methyl disulfide, etc.) odor (bad odor) is provided. ) Tends to be tight. Therefore, in the present invention, it is preferable to measure the properties of the organic waste before supplying the organic waste to the continuous hot air dryer to prevent the generation of such a foul odor.
(3) The method for treating organic waste according to (1) or (2) above, wherein the maximum particle size of the organic waste supplied to the continuous hot air dryer is 60 mm or less.
(Action effect)
If the maximum particle size of the organic waste supplied to the continuous hot air dryer is larger than 60 mm, the time that the organic waste stays in the continuous hot air dryer becomes extremely short, and the organic waste is sufficiently dried. It will be discharged from the continuous hot air dryer when it is not in the state. Therefore, there is a problem that the water content of the final product (organic waste after solidification separation) becomes higher than the desired value (10 to 50%). If the water content of the final product is high, there is a problem that the sulfur-based (hydrogen sulfide, methyl sulfide, etc.) odor (bad odor) becomes strong.
Further, when trying to dry to the vicinity of the center of the granular matter of the organic waste having the maximum particle size of more than 60 mm, it becomes necessary to use hot air at a high temperature. When this high-temperature hot air is used, the surface of the organic waste becomes too dry, and there is a problem that a burnt odor (acetaldehyde-based odor) is generated.
Therefore, it is preferable to set the maximum particle size of the organic waste supplied to the continuous hot air dryer to 60 mm or less to prevent these problems.
The final products are used for industrial waste, fuel resources, fertilizers, etc., and the water content required for these uses is approximately 10 to 50%.
The organic waste supplied to the continuous hot air dryer is not limited to dehydrated products, and non-dehydrated organic waste may be supplied to the continuous hot air dryer. The organic waste supplied to the continuous hot air dryer is suitable to have a moisture content of 81% or less.
(4) The method for treating organic waste according to (1) or (2) above, wherein the average particle size of the organic waste supplied to the continuous hot air dryer is 1 mm to 30 mm.
(Action effect)
If the average particle size of the organic waste supplied to the continuous hot air dryer is larger than 30 mm, the organic waste is discharged from the continuous hot air dryer in a state where it is not sufficiently dried, so that the final product contains water. The rate will be higher than the desired value (10 to 50%), resulting in poor quality.
The organic waste supplied to the continuous hot air dryer is not limited to dehydrated products, and non-dehydrated organic waste may be supplied to the continuous hot air dryer. The organic waste supplied to the continuous hot air dryer is suitable to have a moisture content of 81% or less.
(5) Prior to the drying step, a step of dehydrating organic waste with a dehydrator is further provided.
The method for treating organic waste according to (1) above, wherein the organic waste dehydrated in the dehydration step is supplied to the continuous hot air dryer.
(Action effect)
By dehydrating the organic waste before the drying step, the water content of the organic waste supplied to the continuous hot air dryer can be reduced. When the water content of organic waste is low, the amount of water adhering to the surface and free water between a plurality of particles constituting the granules of organic waste is reduced. Therefore, the maximum particle size of organic waste is a desirable value (60 mm). The following) can be set, and the average particle size can also be set to a desirable value (1 mm to 30 mm).

Wastewater sludge and other organic sludge can be mentioned. Of these sludges, it is particularly suitable for treating sewage sludge. In addition, the organic waste W also includes wastes containing inorganic substances. The organic waste W is stored in the organic waste storage tank 2 and is supplied to the

The centrifugal dehydrator includes different types of dehydrators used in the one-component tempering method, the two-component tempering method, and the in-flight two-component tempering method. Of these, the in-flight two-component tempering type centrifugal dehydrator is suitable as the
In the in-flight two-component tempering type centrifugal dehydrator, a rotary bowl is arranged on the outside, and a screw conveyor is provided in the rotary bowl. Further, a supply port is provided on one end side of the rotary bowl, and a discharge port is provided on the other end side. The organic waste W supplied from the supply port into the rotary bowl is carried to the other end side while being agitated by the screw conveyor, and is discharged from the discharge port as dehydrated product. Further, the organic waste W is dehydrated by centrifugal force in the process of moving in the rotating bowl.
Further, in the rotating bowl, the polymer flocculant HC and the inorganic flocculant IC are added to the organic waste W. As the polymer flocculant HC, for example, polyacrylamide-based or polyacrylic acid ester-based ones can be used, and as the inorganic flocculant IC, for example, ferric chloride, polyaluminum chloride (PAC), polysulfate ferric chloride second Iron (poly iron) or the like can be used. By using these two types of coagulants, the maximum particle size and the average particle size of the dehydrated product can be reduced, and the water content can be reduced. Specifically, the average particle size can be 10 mm or less and the water content can be 74% or less.
The supply amount of the ferric polysulfate (polyiron) is preferably 5 to 30% (per sludge DS). By increasing the supply amount of this polyiron, sulfide can be fixed to the powder or granular material which is the final product, and a situation where it is hard to volatilize can be created, so that the generation of foul odor can be suppressed.
As the in-flight two-component tempering type centrifugal dehydrator, for example, "Technical Information / Research" "No. 133 2012/12/13 Technical Information <Technology" on the website of the Japan Sewage Works Agency dated April 20, 2015. Introduction> The one described in the column of "In-flight two-component tempering type centrifugal dehydrator" -Realization of low water content dehydrated sludge "can be used.

(Dehydrate carrier 7)
The organic waste (dehydrated product) discharged from the
As the dehydration conveyor 7, a screw conveyor, a belt conveyor, or the like that transports by mechanical power can be used. In FIG. 1, a screw conveyor is used as the dehydration carrier 7. Further, a supply port is provided in the middle portion (near the center) in the longitudinal direction of the screw conveyor 7 in FIG. 1, and the dehydrated product is supplied into the screw conveyor 7 from this supply port.
The screw conveyor 7 can be switched between forward rotation and reverse rotation. Then, the moisture content of the dehydrated product is measured by the moisture meter AM attached to the
T=Y/X ・・・式1
(Supply method of dehydrated product)
In order to suppress the malodor from the powder and granules stored in the
T = Y / X ・ ・ ・ Equation 1
The residence time T is preferably in the range of 0.1 to 7 minutes, and more preferably in the range of 0.2 to 5 minutes.
In the subsequent continuous hot air dryer 5 (particularly a circular tube type air flow dryer), the amount of dehydrated product that can be retained in the dryer 5 is determined for each size of the continuous hot air dryer 5. Further, during the steady operation (at a time other than the start-up of the operation of the processing device 1), the amount of the dehydrated matter supplied to the dryer 5 and the amount of the dried matter discharged from the dryer 5 are the same amount. That is, the same amount of dried product as the amount of dehydrated product supplied to the dryer 5 is discharged from the dryer 5. The present inventor carried out diligent research based on such preconditions, and X (supply amount of dehydrated product to the continuous hot air dryer 5 (kg-ds / min)) and Y (continuous hot air dryer 5). The operation was carried out so that the average residence time T obtained from the amount of the dehydrated product (kg-ds)) was 0.05 to 10 (minutes), and the malodor was suppressed from the powder or granular material which was the final product.
By setting the amount of the dehydrated product supplied to the continuous hot air dryer 5 within the above range, the time for the dehydrated product to stay in the continuous hot air dryer 5 becomes an appropriate value, and bad odor can be suppressed.
Specifically, it is preferable that the average residence time from supplying the dehydrated product to the continuous hot air dryer 5 to discharging the dried product from the dryer 5 is 10 minutes or less. In the conventional operation method, the average residence time of organic waste in the dryer 5 is often 30 minutes or more, and such a long residence time is the main cause of foul odor. By making the average residence time extremely short as in the invention, it is possible to prevent denaturation of organic waste, and thus it is possible to prevent the generation of foul odors.
Regarding the amount of dehydrated matter (Y) held in the continuous hot air dryer 5, the amount of dehydrated matter supplied to the dryer 5 (kg-ds) and the amount of dried matter discharged from the dryer 5 (kg-ds). ) Is the same amount during steady operation, the operation of the processing device 1 is temporarily stopped, and at the same time, the supply port and the discharge port of the dryer 5 are shut off to collect the organic waste accumulated in the dryer 5. By measuring its weight, the value can be used as the holding amount (Y).
Further, in determining whether or not the start-up operation has changed to the steady operation, the amount of dehydrated matter supplied to the dryer 5 and the amount of dried matter discharged from the dryer 5 are equal to or not. It can be carried out. That is, since the dehydrated product does not exist in the dryer 5 at the stage when the start-up operation is started, even if the dehydrated product is supplied to the dryer 5, it only stays in the dryer 5 and is discharged from the dryer 5. Not done. Then, after a certain amount of dehydrated product is accumulated in the dryer 5, the dried product starts to be discharged from the dryer 5, and the supply amount and the discharged amount are gradually balanced. In the present invention, it is said that when the supply amount and the discharge amount become the same amount in this way, the steady operation is changed.
(Maximum particle size)
Further, it is preferable to measure the particle size of the organic waste (dehydrated product) in the dehydrated product transporter 7. Then, as a result of measuring the particle size of the dehydrated product, if the maximum particle size of the dehydrated product is higher than the reference value, the dehydrated product is sent to the
As described above, since the amount of dehydrated material that can be stored in the dryer 5 is determined, when the dehydrated material having a maximum particle size of larger than 60 mm is supplied to the dryer 5, the dryer 5 does not sufficiently dry the dehydrated material. May be discharged. If the dryer 5 cannot sufficiently dry the powder or granules, which is the final product, a foul odor is generated due to putrefaction during storage. Therefore, in order to prevent the generation of such an offensive odor, dehydrated products having a maximum particle size of more than 60 mm are not supplied.
In order to suppress malodor, the maximum particle size is preferably 60 mm or less, more preferably 45 mm or less, and even more preferably 30 mm or less.
The maximum particle size of the organic waste described in the claims is artificially extracted as a sample of a part of the dehydrated product and visually measured using a caliper or the like. Specifically, each diameter of the dehydrated product is measured with a caliper or the like, and the maximum diameter of the measured value is set as the maximum particle size.
When the in-flight two-component tempering type centrifugal dehydrator is used, the dehydrated product tends to be in uniform granules (granular particles), so that it is suitable for measuring the maximum particle size and the average particle size. For example, when the maximum particle size of the granules is 60 mm or more, it is preferable to control so that the dehydrated product is not supplied to the continuous hot air dryer. When the granules are agglomerated due to moisture or the like, the dehydrated product is supplied to the continuous hot air dryer when the maximum particle size of the agglomerated granules (lumps) is 60 mm or more. You can control it so that it does not occur.
In addition, by dehydrating the dehydrated product so that it becomes granular, it becomes easier to stably supply the dehydrated product to the continuous hot air dryer, and the resistance to the hot air flowing in the continuous hot air dryer is reduced. It has the advantage of increasing contact opportunities.
(Average particle size)
Further, the average particle size of the dehydrated product may be measured, and if the average particle size is in the range of 1 mm to 30 mm, it may be sent to the dryer 5, and if it is outside those ranges, it may be sent to the
In order to suppress malodor, the average particle size is preferably in the range of 1 mm to 30 mm, more preferably in the range of 1 mm to 20 mm, and even more preferably in the range of 1 mm to 10 mm.
The average particle size described in the claims is measured by the following method. Specifically, when the particle size of the dehydrated product is 500 microns or more, sieving is performed by the method described in JIS M 8801 coal test method, and the sieving result is represented by the rosin ramler distribution, and the integrated mass (on the sieving) is 50%. The particle size at the corresponding time is defined as the average particle size. When the particle size of the dehydrated product is less than 500 microns, the particle size distribution is measured using a laser diffraction type particle size distribution measuring device (for example, trade name SALD-3100, manufactured by Shimadzu Corporation), and the cumulative volume is 50%. The particle size at the time corresponding to is defined as the average particle size.
(Particle size distribution)
In order to stabilize the operation of the continuous hot air dryer 5, it is preferable that the particle size distribution of the organic waste supplied per unit time fluctuates little. This is because the amount of organic waste that can be retained in the dryer 5 is determined, and if the value of this particle size distribution fluctuates greatly, a problem will occur. That is, when the value of the particle size distribution of the organic waste increases, the water content of the dried product discharged from the dryer 5 increases, and when the value of the particle size distribution decreases, the dried product becomes excessively dried. ..

A method of providing a dehydration storage facility (not shown) between the dehydration carrier 7 and the continuous hot air dryer 5 and periodically sending the dehydrated product from the storage facility to the continuous hot air dryer 5 is also considered. be able to. However, since the entire equipment of the processing apparatus 1 becomes large and there is a problem that the dehydrated product is compacted into a dumpling shape by storing the dehydrated product, the form in which the storage facility is provided is not so preferable.

(Continuous hot air dryer 5)
The continuous hot air dryer 5 brings the dehydrated product from the
The continuous hot air dryer 5 includes (1) a spray dryer, an air flow dryer, a fluidized layer dryer, a rotary dryer, and the like, in which the dehydrated material is dispersed in the hot air and dried. 2) Transfer the dehydrated material in a stationary state, such as a ventilation band dryer, tunnel dryer (parallel flow band dryer), spout flow dryer, etc., and bring hot air into contact with the dehydrated material during the transfer process. Examples thereof include a form in which the dehydrated product is dried by contacting hot air with the dehydrated product while mechanically stirring the dehydrated product, such as (3) a stirring dryer or the like. The "continuous type" of the continuous type hot air dryer 5 means that it is not a batch type.
As described above, when dehydrated using an in-flight two-component tempering type centrifugal dehydrator, the average particle size of the dehydrated product can be 10 mm or less and the water content can be 74% or less. The average particle size and water content are lower than those when dehydrated using another dehydrator such as a belt press dehydrator. Therefore, the airflow dryer 5 which is cheaper and has excellent maintainability can be used without using the indirect heating type dryer (stirring heat transfer type device) which is often used.
There are various types of the airflow dryer 5, but since the adhesiveness of the dehydrated product is weakened by using the in-flight two-component tempering type
FIG. 1 shows an example of the airflow dryer 5. The airflow dryer 5 is a circular tube type airflow dryer 5 in which pipes through which hot airflow passes (hereinafter, also referred to as “pipes”) are arranged in an annular shape. Flash dryer 5 shown is a
The hot air generated by the hot air generator 4 is supplied to the
The dehydrated product that has just been supplied to the circular tube type airflow dryer 5 often flows on the outer peripheral side of each of the
In the operation of the air flow dryer 5, it is preferable that the wind speed of the hot air in each of the
The airflow temperature is not particularly limited. However, it is preferably 350 ° C. to 450 ° C., more preferably 390 ° C. to 410 ° C., and even more preferably 400 ° C. This is because when the air flow temperature is low, the object to be treated cannot be sufficiently dried, and the water content of the dried object becomes high. Further, when the air flow temperature is high, the fuel cost of the hot air generator 4 increases, the economy becomes poor, and the dried product may become too dry and a burnt odor may be generated from the dried product. As described above, considering the economic balance between the moisture content of the dried product and the fuel cost, it is most appropriate to set the temperature at around 400 ° C.
In order to suppress the odor, it is preferable to dry the dried product discharged from the air flow dryer 5 so that the water content is 10 to 50%.
In FIG. 1, a circular tube type airflow dryer 5 in which
Even if the size of the circular tube type airflow dryer 5 is increased or decreased, there is almost no change in the residence time in which the dehydrated product stays in the dryer 5.
Further, although the manufacturing cost and the repair cost are high, the stirring heat transfer type dryer is provided instead of the continuous hot air dryer 5, and a part of the separated gas from the
Indirect heating dryers such as the Inclined Disc Dryer that we manufacture and sell take several tens of minutes to an hour from the time the organic waste is supplied until it is discharged, so it is organic. Since there is a high possibility that a foul odor will be generated due to the modification of waste, it is not suitable for the dryer 5 of the present invention.
That is, as the continuous air flow dryer 5 in the present invention, the dryer 5 in which the heat capacity coefficient obtained from the size of the dryer 5 and the temperature and amount of the supplied hot air gas is in the range of 2000 to 4000 kcal / m 3 h ° C. Is preferably used. The higher the heat capacity coefficient, the more heat energy can be transferred to the organic waste, and that energy can be used for evaporation of the water content of the organic waste. Since the circular tube type airflow dryer 5 has an extremely high heat capacity coefficient as compared with an inclined disk type dryer or the like, sufficient drying can be performed with a short residence time, and due to the reduction of the residence time, the final product It is possible to suppress bad odors.

As the powder or granular material
In the
The temperature of the powder or granular material supplied to the

When the

(Other)
Other methods may be used for measuring the maximum particle size and the average particle size. For example, as shown in the illustrated form, an organic waste (dehydrated product) that moves on a belt conveyor using a measuring device 8 (for example, an image dimensional measuring device KEYENCE's image sensor VI series with integrated lighting). Can be obtained from the captured image by imaging the image. In this form, the particle size is calculated from the uneven shape of the dehydrated product carried by the conveyor. At the same time, the number and color of the edges of the dehydrated product may be measured, and the calculated value of the particle size may be corrected.
Further, depending on the type of dehydrator, the dehydrated product may not be in the form of granules. For example, when a belt press is used for the dehydrator, the dehydrated product is often in the form of a sheet. In addition, the shape of the dehydrated product may be plate-shaped or columnar. Therefore, in such a case, it is crushed by a crusher or the like before being supplied to the continuous hot air dryer. In the present invention, the particle size of the granules after crushing may be measured, it may be determined whether the maximum particle size or the average particle size is a desirable value, and it may be determined whether or not the particles are supplied to the continuous hot air dryer. ..
In addition, organic waste that has not been dehydrated by the dehydrator may be supplied to the continuous hot air dryer. In this case as well, the method for measuring the particle size can be considered in the same manner as described above.

(Example 1)
Sewage sludge (digested sludge) was used as organic waste. The sludge concentration of this digested sludge was 1.6% (moisture content 98.4%).
First, the digested sludge was dehydrated for 10 to 20 minutes with an in-flight two-component heat-regulating centrifugal dehydrator. In this in-flight two-component tempering type centrifugal dehydrator, a polymer flocculant and an inorganic flocculant (ferric polysulfate) were used. After that, the dehydrated product was sent to the twin-screw conveyor through the pipe. Moreover, when the moisture content of the dehydrated product was measured using the moisture meter attached to this pipe, it was 75 to 76%.
Next, the dehydrated product was supplied to the circular tube type air flow dryer using a screw conveyor. This supply was performed so that the average residence time T calculated by the above formula 1 was 5 to 7 minutes. Specifically, the amount of dehydrated product of digested sludge supplied to the circular air flow dryer was 25 to 35 kg-ds / h. In addition, the amount of digested sludge (retained amount) that can be stored in the circular air flow dryer was 3 kg-ds.
In addition, a part of the dehydrated product was sampled and the particle size was measured. If the maximum particle size is 60 mm or more, or if the average particle size is not in the range of 1 to 10 mm, the screw conveyor is rotated in the reverse direction to send the dehydrated product to the digestion tank, and the other dehydrated products are sent to the circular tube. It was made to supply to the type air flow dryer.
Next, the dehydrated product was dried using hot air at 400 ° C. in a circular air flow dryer. Then, the dried product discharged from the circular tube type air flow dryer was supplied to the cyclone, and solid air separation was performed by centrifugal force. After that, the powder or granular material accumulated at the lower end of the cyclone was cut out by a rotary valve, the discharge was regarded as a final product, and the odor index was measured and found to be 30 to 34.

Sewage sludge was used as organic waste.
First, the sewage sludge was dehydrated with a centrifugal dehydrator to obtain a dehydrated product having a water content of 83.5%. Next, the dehydrated product was dried using an inclined disc type dryer as a continuous hot air dryer. In this inclined disc type dryer, steam having a vapor pressure of 0.7 MPa and a temperature of 165 ° C. was used as a heat medium. Further, the amount of organic waste (dehydrated product) that can be retained inside this inclined disc type dryer is 32.5 kg-ds. Then, organic waste (dehydrated product) was supplied to this inclined disc type dryer at 60 to 70 kg-ds / h. As a result, the time (average residence time) for the supplied organic waste (composed of a plurality of particles) to stay in the circular air flow dryer was 27 to 33 minutes. Other than that, the conditions are the same as those in the first embodiment. Then, when the odor index was measured, it was 40 to 50.
(Comparative Example 2)
Sewage sludge was used as organic waste.
The same dehydrator and dryer (inclined disc type dryer) as in Comparative Example 1 were used. The amount of organic waste (dehydrated product) that this dryer can hold inside is 35 kg-ds. Then, the organic waste (dehydrated product) was supplied to the dryer at 65 to 75 kg-ds / h. As a result, the time (average residence time) for the supplied organic waste (dehydrated) to stay in the circular tube type airflow dryer was 28 to 33 minutes. Other than that, the conditions are the same as those in the first embodiment. Then, when the odor index was measured, it was 40 to 50.
(Discussion)
When the average residence time T calculated by the above formula 1 is supplied so as to be about 25 to 35 (minutes), the organic waste tends to be denatured by drying and the odor tends to be strong. On the other hand, in the present invention, it can be seen that the odor is suppressed by supplying the product so that the average residence time T calculated by the above formula 1 is 4 to 7 (minutes).
