- 自車両の周辺に位置する他車両を検出する他車両検出部と、
所定の支援実行条件が成立した場合に前記自車両の周辺の状況を報知して前記他車両とのすれ違いを支援する支援部と、を備え、
前記支援部が、
前記自車両の前記他車両側の端部と前記他車両の前記自車両側の端部との車両幅方向における重なる距離を正の値で示す重なり量と、離れる距離を負の値で示す離隔量と、である幅方向相対量に少なくとも基づいて前記支援実行条件の成立の有無を判断する運転支援装置であって、
前記支援部は、前記自車両と前記他車両とが車両幅方向に重なり合う場合は前記幅方向相対量が正の値である所定の重なり量上限閾値以下のときに、前記自車両と前記他車両とが車両幅方向に離れている場合は前記幅方向相対量が負の値である所定の離隔量閾値以上のときに、前記支援実行条件を成立させ、
前記支援実行条件は、前記自車両のシフトレンジに応じて異なっており、前記シフトレンジが前進レンジのときに用いる前記重なり量上限閾値または前記離隔量閾値よりも、前記シフトレンジが後退レンジのときに用いる前記重なり量上限閾値または前記離隔量閾値が大きく設定されていることを特徴とする運転支援装置。 - 前記支援部は、
さらに前記自車両の側端と道路端との間の平行度に基づいて前記支援実行条件の成立の有無を判断し、
前記シフトレンジが後退レンジである場合も、前記支援実行条件の成立の有無を判断し、前記支援実行条件が成立したときは、前記自車両が前記他車両とすれ違い可能であることを報知することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の運転支援装置。
