図1Aは、本発明の実施形態にかかる電子機器の使用態様を説明する説明図である。本実施形態にかかる電子機器はホストとして機能する。すなわち、USBの規格において電力供給側となるホスト20が本発明の一実施形態であり、ホスト20には電力供給を受けるデバイス30がUSBで接続される。ホスト20はUSB処理回路10を備えている。
図1Bは、ホスト20の外面に開口する第1接続口10aおよび第2接続口10bを開口部側から見た状態を示す図である。図1Bにおいて第1方向、第2方向は互いに直交する方向であり、本実施形態において第2方向はホスト20の上下方向であるが、むろん、第2方向が左右方向であっても良いし、他の方向であっても良い。
図1Cは、SuperSpeed規格に対応した通信を実行可能なホスト20が備えるUSB処理回路10の構成を示す図である。USB処理回路10は、配線切替回路11と第1接続口10aおよび第2接続口10bから延びる配線とを備えている。配線切替回路11は、接続検知回路11aとBUS切替回路11bとを備えている。
以上の実施形態は本発明を実施するための一例であり、異なる規格のUSBの接続口の一方にコネクタが接続されると他方にコネクタが接続できないように構成する限りにおいて、他にも種々の実施形態を採用可能である。例えば、本発明にかかる電子機器はUSB規格においてホストとして機能しても良いし、デバイスとして機能しても良い。
Claims (7)
- USBTypeCの接続口である第1接続口と、
USBTypeC以外のUSBの接続口である第2接続口と、
前記第1接続口への通信線と前記第2接続口への通信線と、
前記第1接続口への通信線が電子機器の通信線に導通し、前記第2接続口への通信線が電子機器の通信線に導通していない状態と、前記第2接続口への通信線が電子機器の通信線に導通し、前記第1接続口への通信線が電子機器の通信線に導通していない状態とを切り替え可能にする配線切替回路と、
前記第1接続口の電力線と前記第2接続口の電力線との両方に導通し電力を供給する電源回路と、
前記第1接続口と前記第2接続口との一方にコネクタが接続されている場合に、他方にコネクタが接続できない排他構造と、
を有する電子機器。 - 前記排他構造は、
前記第1接続口および前記第2接続口のそれぞれにコネクタが接続された場合に、コネクタが空間的に重複し、一方が他方に包含されない位置関係である、
請求項1に記載の電子機器。 - 前記第1接続口および前記第2接続口はそれぞれ第1方向に長辺が向いており、前記第1方向において前記第1接続口および前記第2接続口は同じ位置にあり、前記第1方向と直交する第2方向において、前記第1接続口の短辺方向の中心と前記第2接続口の短辺方向の中心とは、7.25mm未満の距離である、
請求項2に記載の電子機器。 - 前記第1接続口の穴の第1方向の端部と前記第2接続口の穴の前記第1方向と反対方向の端部とは、連結されている、
請求項2または請求項3のいずれかに記載の電子機器。 - 前記排他構造は、
前記第1接続口および前記第2接続口の一方を選択的に封鎖するシャッターである、
請求項1〜請求項4のいずれかに記載の電子機器。 - 前記配線切替回路は、信号波形を整えるリドライバ回路を備える、
請求項1〜請求項5のいずれかに記載の電子機器。 - 前記第1接続口に対するコネクタの接続を検知する接続検知回路を備え、
前記配線切替回路は、コネクタが接続されている接続口への通信線に電子機器の通信線を切り替える、
請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の電子機器。
