Description
本発明は、固体酸化物形燃料電池ハーフセル、及びそのハーフセルを備えた固体酸化物形燃料電池に関する。 The present invention relates to a solid oxide fuel cell half cell and a solid oxide fuel cell including the half cell.
近年、燃料電池は、クリーンエネルギー源として注目されている。燃料電池のうち、電解質に固体のセラミックスを使用している固体酸化物形燃料電池(以下、「SOFC」ということがある)は、作動温度が高いので排熱を利用でき、さらに高効率で電力を得ることができる等の長所を有している。このため、SOFCは、家庭用電源から大規模発電まで幅広い分野での活用が期待されている。 In recent years, fuel cells have attracted attention as clean energy sources. Among the fuel cells, solid oxide fuel cells that use solid ceramics as the electrolyte (hereinafter sometimes referred to as “SOFC”) have a high operating temperature and can use exhaust heat. It has the advantage that it can be obtained. For this reason, SOFC is expected to be used in a wide range of fields from household power sources to large-scale power generation.
The SOFC has a structure in which a solid electrolyte layer made of ceramics is disposed between a cathode (air electrode) and an anode (fuel electrode) as a basic structure. For example, in a flat SOFC, a single cell is formed by superposing a cathode, a solid electrolyte layer, and an anode, and a plurality of the single cells are stacked with an interconnector interposed therebetween to obtain high output. Such flat SOFCs include an electrolyte-supported cell (ESC) that maintains the strength of the cell using an electrolyte as a support and an anode-supported cell (ASC) that maintains the strength of the cell using an anode as a support. . Further, as an SOFC semi-finished product, an SOFC half cell in which only an anode and an electrolyte layer are formed and a cathode is not yet formed may be provided.
Patent Document 1 discloses an electrolyte membrane composed of two layers of an air electrode, a fuel electrode, a first layer on the air electrode side, and a second layer on the fuel electrode side, and between the electrolyte membrane and the fuel electrode. An SOFC comprising a fuel-side electrode reaction layer provided is disclosed. An electrolyte membrane is illustrated in which the first layer is made of zirconia (SSZ) in which scandia is dissolved, and the second layer is made of zirconia (YSZ) in which yttria is dissolved. When YSZ is used as the second layer, it is described that a layer in which NiO and SSZ are uniformly mixed is preferable as the fuel-side electrode reaction layer.
特許文献1の構成によれば、SOFCの運転時の燃料極への燃料ガスの供給に伴い、燃料側電極反応層でニッケルがSSZと剥離することによってSOFCの出力が低下する可能性がある。 According to the configuration of Patent Document 1, with the supply of fuel gas to the fuel electrode during SOFC operation, the SOFC output may be reduced due to nickel peeling off from SSZ in the fuel side electrode reaction layer.
非特許文献1には、(CeO2)0.01(Sc2O3)0.10(ZrO2)0.89(1Ce10ScZr)の粒子がYSZ層と結合し、YSZ層の表面を部分的に覆っている構成が開示されている。非特許文献1の構成を用いたSOFCは、発電性能を高める余地を有している。 Non-Patent Document 1 discloses a configuration in which particles of (CeO 2 ) 0.01 (Sc 2 O 3 ) 0.10 (ZrO 2 ) 0.89 (1Ce10ScZr) are bonded to the YSZ layer and partially cover the surface of the YSZ layer. Has been. The SOFC using the configuration of Non-Patent Document 1 has room for improving the power generation performance.
本発明は、ニッケルと安定化ジルコニアとの剥離を低減し、かつ電解質層の酸化物イオン伝導度を高めることによって、高い発電性能を有するSOFCを提供することを目的とする。 An object of the present invention is to provide an SOFC having high power generation performance by reducing peeling between nickel and stabilized zirconia and increasing oxide ion conductivity of an electrolyte layer.

本発明によれば、アノード活性層とカソード側電解質層との界面及びアノード活性層において、燃料ガスの供給に伴うニッケルと安定化ジルコニアとの剥離を抑制できる。また、カソード側電解質層が所定の厚みを有するので、電解質層の酸素イオン伝導度が高まる。その結果、高い発電性能を有するSOFCを提供することができる。 According to the present invention, separation between nickel and stabilized zirconia accompanying the supply of fuel gas can be suppressed at the interface between the anode active layer and the cathode side electrolyte layer and the anode active layer. Moreover, since the cathode side electrolyte layer has a predetermined thickness, the oxygen ion conductivity of the electrolyte layer is increased. As a result, an SOFC having high power generation performance can be provided.
以下、本発明の実施形態について、図面を参照しながら説明する。なお、以下の説明は本発明の一例に関するものであり、本発明はこれによって限定されるものではない。 Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. The following description relates to an example of the present invention, and the present invention is not limited thereto.
図1に示すように、SOFCハーフセル1Aは、電解質層10と、アノード20と、バリア層40とを備えている。アノード20は、電解質層10の一方面側に形成されている。バリア層40は、電解質層10のアノード20と反対側に形成されている。図2に示すように、SOFC1Bは、SOFCハーフセル1Aと、SOFCハーフセル1Aの上に形成されたカソード30とを備えている。
As shown in FIG. 1, the SOFC half cell 1 </ b> A includes an
The
The anode
As the conductive component of the
As the skeleton component of the
アノード活性層20Aの厚さ及びアノード基板20Bの厚さは特に限定されない。例えば、アノード活性層20Aの厚さは5μm〜30μmである。また、アノード基板20Bの厚さは150μm〜1500μmである。
The thickness of the anode
As shown in FIG. 1, the
The anode
The thickness of the
As shown in FIG. 2, the
The
During operation of the
The bonding strength of the grain boundaries at the anode
In the present embodiment, the anode
次に、本実施形態のSOFC1Bの製造方法について説明する。 Next, the manufacturing method of SOFC1B of this embodiment is demonstrated.

Next, the SOFC evaluation method of each example and each comparative example will be described.
<Battery performance evaluation test>
The battery performance of the SOFC of each example and each comparative example was evaluated by the following method. The SOFC was heated to the measurement temperature (750 ° C.) at a rate of 100 ° C./hour while supplying nitrogen to the SOFC anode at 100 mL / min and air to the cathode at 100 mL / min. After raising the temperature, the gas flow rate was measured using a flow meter on the outlet side of the anode and cathode, and it was confirmed that there was no gas leakage. Next, a humidified mixed gas of 6 mL / min of hydrogen and 194 mL / min of nitrogen was supplied to the anode, and 400 mL / min of air was supplied to the cathode. After more than 10 minutes from the start of supply, it was confirmed again that an electromotive force was generated and there was no gas leakage. Next, humidified hydrogen was supplied to the anode at a flow rate of 200 mL / min. A battery performance evaluation test based on current-voltage characteristics was carried out 10 minutes or more after the electromotive force was stabilized. From the measured current density-voltage characteristics, the output density (W / cm 2 ) at 0.8 V was obtained. Table 1 shows the results of the battery performance evaluation test of each example and each comparative example.
<Measurement of electrolyte layer thickness>
For the SOFCs of Examples 1 to 5 and Comparative Examples 1 to 9, after the battery performance evaluation test described above, by supplying a mixed gas of 6 mL / min of hydrogen and 194 mL / min of nitrogen to the anode, the temperature of the SOFC was lowered. A sample in which the conductive component of the anode active layer maintained the state of metallic nickel at room temperature was obtained. Each sample was cut with a glass cutter to prepare a sample for cross-sectional observation. The cross section of this cross-sectional observation sample was photographed using a field emission scanning electron microscope (JEOL Ltd .: JSM-7600F).
断面観察用サンプルの断面の撮影は、カソードが形成されている部分に対する中央部分及びカソードの端部から約2mm離れた位置において行い、3つの視野の写真を得た。それぞれの視野について任意の5点(合計15点)で測定した電解質層の厚みの算術平均値を、電解質層の厚みとした。なお、アノード側電解質層とカソード側電解質層との境界は、エネルギー分散型X線分析装置を用いて各金属酸化物の分布を調べることによって判断した。測定結果を表1に示す。 The cross section of the sample for cross section observation was photographed at a position about 2 mm away from the central portion and the end of the cathode with respect to the portion where the cathode was formed, and photographs of three fields of view were obtained. The arithmetic average value of the thickness of the electrolyte layer measured at any five points (total of 15 points) for each visual field was defined as the thickness of the electrolyte layer. The boundary between the anode side electrolyte layer and the cathode side electrolyte layer was judged by examining the distribution of each metal oxide using an energy dispersive X-ray analyzer. The measurement results are shown in Table 1.
<Measurement of particle size of nickel particles>
The cross-sectional observation samples according to the SOFCs of Examples 1 to 6 were subjected to cross-sectional observation near the boundary surface of the electrolyte layer / anode active layer of the cross-sectional observation sample using a field emission scanning electron microscope, and the magnification was 10,000 times. An enlarged photo of was taken. This photographing was performed on the central part of the part where the cathode was formed, and an enlarged photograph was obtained. The magnitude | size of the nickel in an anode active layer was measured using the obtained enlarged photograph. Specifically, an image analysis made by Media Cybernetics on 100 nickel particles present between the electrolyte layer / anode active layer interface and a position 5 μm away from the interface to the anode active layer side. The circumference of the nickel particles in the enlarged photograph was measured using the image software Pro (version 4.0.0.11), and the diameter of a perfect circle having a circumference equal to the circumference was obtained. This diameter was regarded as the particle diameter of nickel in the anode active layer, and the 10% particle diameter and 90% particle diameter were determined from the number distribution of particle diameters of 100 nickel particles. The results are shown in Table 2.
表1に示すように、実施例1〜8のSOFCの出力密度は、いずれも0.700W/cm2以上を示し、各比較例のSOFCの出力密度よりも高い値を示した。特に、実施例1、3、5、及び6のSOFCの出力密度は、0.75W/cm2以上を示した。これにより、アノード側電解質層の厚み及びカソード側電解質層の厚みの和に対するカソード側電解質層の厚みの比が大きくなることによって、SOFCの発電性能がさらに高まることが示唆された。 As shown in Table 1, the output densities of the SOFCs of Examples 1 to 8 were all 0.700 W / cm 2 or higher, and were higher than the output densities of the SOFCs of the comparative examples. In particular, the output densities of the SOFCs of Examples 1, 3, 5, and 6 were 0.75 W / cm 2 or more. This suggests that the power generation performance of the SOFC is further increased by increasing the ratio of the thickness of the cathode side electrolyte layer to the sum of the thickness of the anode side electrolyte layer and the cathode side electrolyte layer.
本発明によれば、発電性能の高いSOFCを提供することができる。 According to the present invention, an SOFC with high power generation performance can be provided.
