Description
図1(A)及び図2(A)に示す燃料電池Cは、電解質膜(高分子電解質膜)1の両側に電極層であるカソード層2及びアノード層3を有する膜電極接合体Mと、電解質膜1の外周を囲繞する枠体4と、膜電極接合体Mとの間に夫々のガス流路G,Gを区画形成するセパレータ5,5を備えている。なお、図1(A)は、カソード層2のみを示しており、実際には、電解質膜1の反対側(図中で下側)にアノード層(3)がある。

Claims (9)
- 電解質膜の両側に触媒層を有し、その表面側に三層以上の多孔体を備えた膜電極接合体と、
電解質膜の外周を囲繞する枠体と、
膜電極接合体との間にガス流路を区画形成するセパレータを備えると共に、
三層の多孔体のうちのセパレータに隣接する第一多孔体の外縁部、及び第一多孔体に隣接する第二多孔体の外縁部に、枠体と重なるように延出した夫々の延出部を設け、
枠体とセパレータとの間に第一及び第二の多孔体の延出部を重ねて介挿したことを特徴とする燃料電池。
- 第一多孔体の圧縮弾性率が、その他の多孔体の圧縮弾性率よりも大きいことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の燃料電池。
- 第一多孔体が、鉄、ステンレス鋼、アルミニウム及びアルミニウム合金、チタン及びチタン合金、クロム及びクロム合金、ニッケル及びニッケル合金、マグネシウム及びマグネシウム合金のうちのいずれか1種類以上の金属であることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の燃料電池。
- 第二多孔体及びこれに隣接する第三多孔体が、カーボン材料で形成してあることを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の燃料電池。
- 前記カーボン材料が、シート状カーボン材料であることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の燃料電池。
- 第二多孔体は複数層で構成され、第二多孔体を構成する各多孔体の弾性率Ehと、前記第三多孔体を構成する各多孔体の弾性率Eiとの関係が、Ei≧Ehであることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の燃料電池。
- 前記第二多孔体を構成する各多孔体の電子導電率σhと、第三多孔体を構成する各多孔体の電子導電率σiとの関係が、
σi≧σhであることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の燃料電池。 - 請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載の燃料電池を複数枚積層して成ることを特徴とする燃料電池スタック。
