Description
本出願は、2009年7月7日に出願された「モノリシック/複合体炭化ケイ素層状物品(MONOLITHIC/COMPOSITE SILICON CARBIDE LAYERED ARTICLE)」という題名の米国仮出願第61/223,629号、及び2010年4月27日に出願された「硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック/硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック複合体ハイブリッド物品(HARD NON-OXIDE OR OXIDE CERAMIC/HARD NON-OXIDE OR OXIDE CERAMIC COMPOSITE HYBRID ARTICLE)」という題名の米国仮出願第61/328,262号に関連し、これらの出願からの優先権を主張する。これらの第61/223,629号及び第61/328,262号の出願は、参照することにより、それらの全部が本明細書中に援用される。

本発明は、(a)理論密度が少なくとも95%であり、且つ炭化ケイ素、常圧焼結炭化ケイ素、液相焼結炭化ケイ素、反応焼結炭化ケイ素、炭化タングステン、酸化アルミニウム又は窒化ケイ素を含む、少なくとも1つの硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック体であって、下記(b)に直接結合し且つ下記(b)と異なる硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック体(以下、「硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック部分」と言うこともある)と、(b)炭化ケイ素、常圧焼結炭化ケイ素、液相焼結炭化ケイ素、反応焼結炭化ケイ素、炭化タングステン、酸化アルミニウム又は窒化ケイ素を含み、且つ炭素黒鉛又はグラファイトをさらに含む、少なくとも1つの硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック複合体(以下、「硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック複合体部分」と言うこともある)とを含む、硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック/硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック複合体ハイブリッドシール部品であって、前記少なくとも1つの硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック複合体が、前記ハイブリッドシール部品のシール面に設置されている、ハイブリッドシール部品である。
本発明の実施形態は、少なくとも1つの硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック複合体部分と結合する少なくとも1つの硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック部分を含み、硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック/硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック複合体ハイブリッド物品を作るハイブリッド物品を提供する。
硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック部分の材料としては、炭化ケイ素、常圧焼結炭化ケイ素、液相焼結炭化ケイ素、反応焼結炭化ケイ素、炭化タングステン、酸化アルミニウム及び窒化ケイ素が挙げられるが、これらに限定されない。当業者に理解されるように、少なくとも1つの硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック部分12の炭化タングステン、酸化アルミニウム及び窒化ケイ素の実施形態は、周知の方法で製造される。
硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック複合体部分の材料としては、炭化ケイ素、常圧焼結炭化ケイ素、液相焼結炭化ケイ素、反応焼結炭化ケイ素、炭化タングステン、酸化アルミニウム及び窒化ケイ素が挙げられるが、これらに限定されない。
当業者に理解されるように、少なくとも1つの硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック複合体部分14の炭化タングステン、酸化アルミニウム及び窒化ケイ素の実施形態は、周知の方法で製造される。
少なくとも1つの硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック部分12と、少なくとも1つの硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック複合体部分14とは、同じ形成プロセス中に組み立てられ(assembled)、これらの部分間に界面16を有するハイブリッド物品10を作る。いくつかの実施形態において、少なくとも1つの硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック部分12と、少なくとも1つの硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック複合体部分14とは、同一の硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック材料を含む。他の実施形態において、少なくとも1つの硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック部分12と、少なくとも1つの硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック複合体部分14とは、異なる硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック材料を含んでもよい。
Claims (3)
- (a)理論密度が少なくとも95%であり、且つ炭化ケイ素、常圧焼結炭化ケイ素、液相焼結炭化ケイ素、反応焼結炭化ケイ素、炭化タングステン、酸化アルミニウム又は窒化ケイ素を含む、少なくとも1つの硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック体であって、下記(b)に直接結合し且つ下記(b)と異なる硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック体と、
(b)炭化ケイ素、常圧焼結炭化ケイ素、液相焼結炭化ケイ素、反応焼結炭化ケイ素、炭化タングステン、酸化アルミニウム又は窒化ケイ素を含み、且つ炭素黒鉛又はグラファイトをさらに含む、少なくとも1つの硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック複合体と
を含む、硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック/硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック複合体ハイブリッドシール部品であって、
前記少なくとも1つの硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック複合体が、前記ハイブリッドシール部品のシール面に設置されている、ハイブリッドシール部品。 - 少なくとも1つの前記硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック体が、少なくとも2つの前記硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック複合体に結合し、且つ少なくとも2つの前記硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック複合体と異なる、請求項1に記載の硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック/硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック複合体ハイブリッドシール部品。
- 少なくとも1つの前記硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック複合体が、50〜95重量%の炭化ケイ素を含み、さらに5〜50%の炭素黒鉛又はグラファイトを含む、請求項1又は2に記載の硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック/硬質非酸化物又は酸化物セラミック複合体ハイブリッドシール部品。
