Description
本願は、米国特許法第120条に基づき、2008年12月30日に出願された米国仮特許出願第61/141,504号への優先権を主張しており、これはその全体が参照により本明細書に援用される。
以下の実施例において、2種のイオノマー樹脂(ION AおよびION B)およびそれらのブレンドでポリマーシートを形成し、今度はそれを、積層品の形成に使用した。
実施例E4〜E7および比較例CE3の各々において、500×500mmの寸法を有する弾道抵抗性(ballistic resistant)積層品を、表3に列記される積層成分層(component laminate layer)を用いて調製した。まず、各積層品の成分層を積み重ねて、プレ積層集成体(pre−lamination assembly)を形成した。このプレ積層集成体は、実施例E4〜E7の各々においてはPETフィルム層または比較例CE3においてはポリカーボネートシート層を覆うガラスカバーシートも備えた。次いで、このプレ積層集成体を減圧バッグに入れ、これを封止した。真空を適用して、この減圧バッグから空気を除去し、集成体層間に含まれる全ての空気を除去した。次いで、この集成体を、エアオートクレーブ中200psig(14.3バール)の圧力下で、135℃でのオートクレーブ処理に60分間供した。オートクレーブにさらなる空気を全く入れずに、オートクレーブ内部の空気を冷却した。20分の冷却後(または空気温度が約50℃未満になったとき)、過剰圧力を抜き、積層集成体の入った減圧バッグをオートクレーブから取り出した。次いで、減圧バッグの真空状態を解除した。結果として生じた積層品を減圧バッグから取り出し、ガラスカバーシートを最終積層品から取り外した。

以下、本発明の態様を示す。
1.イオノマーブレンドを含む組成物であって、前記イオノマーブレンドは、前記イオノマーブレンドの総重量に基づき、約5〜約95重量%の第1のイオノマーおよび約95〜約5重量%の第2のイオノマーを含み、前記イオノマーブレンドは、前記イオノマーブレンド中の中和されているカルボン酸基および中和されていないカルボン酸基の総数に基づき10%〜90%の中和レベルを有し:
(A)前記第1のイオノマーは、第1の前駆体酸コポリマーの中和生成物であり;そしてi)前記第1の前駆体酸コポリマーは、2個〜10個の炭素原子を有する第1のα−オレフィンの共重合単位を含み、さらに、前記第1の前駆体酸コポリマーの総重量に基づき約20〜約30重量%の、3個〜8個の炭素原子を有する第1のα,β−エチレン性不飽和カルボン酸の共重合単位を含み;ii)前記第1の前駆体酸コポリマーは、約70〜約1000g/10分の溶融流量を有し;かつiii)前記第1の前駆体酸コポリマーは、約40%〜約90%のレベルまで中和され、かつナトリウムカチオンから実質的になる対イオンを含む場合、ナトリウムイオノマーを生成し;そして前記ナトリウムイオノマーは、約0.7〜約25g/10分の溶融流量、およびASTM D3418に準拠して示差走査熱分析(DSC)により測定される場合に検出不可能な、または約3.0j/g未満の凍結エンタルピーを有し;
(B)前記第2のイオノマーは、第2の前駆体酸コポリマーの中和生成物であり、i)前記第2の前駆体酸コポリマーは、2個〜10個の炭素原子を有する第2のα−オレフィンの共重合単位;および前記第2の前駆体酸コポリマーの総重量に基づき約18〜約30重量%の、3個〜8個の炭素原子を有する第2のα,β−エチレン性不飽和カルボン酸の共重合単位を含み;前記第2のα−オレフィンは、前記第1のα−オレフィンと同じかまたは異なってもよく;前記第2のα−オレフィンの量は、前記第1のα−オレフィンの量と同じかまたは異なってもよく;前記第2のα,β−エチレン性不飽和カルボン酸は、第1のα,β−エチレン性不飽和カルボン酸と同じかまたは異なってもよく;かつ前記第2のα,β−エチレン性不飽和カルボン酸の量は、前記第1のα,β−エチレン性不飽和カルボン酸の量と同じかまたは異なってもよく;ii)前記第2の前駆体酸コポリマーは、約60g/10分以下の溶融流量を有し;かつiii)前記第2のイオノマーは、前記イオノマーブレンドの前記中和レベルで約10g/10分以下の溶融流量を有し;そして前記イオノマーブレンドの前記中和レベルでの前記第2のイオノマーの溶融流量は、同中和レベルでの前記第1のイオノマーの溶融流量と異なり;そして
(C)前記溶融流量は、ASTM法D1238に準拠して、190℃のポリマー溶融温度にて2.16kg荷重下で測定される
組成物。
2.前記第1の前駆体酸コポリマーが約150〜約400g/10分の溶融流量を有し、前記第2の前駆体酸コポリマーが約30g/10分以下の溶融流量を有するか;または前記第1の前駆体酸コポリマーが、約20〜約25重量%の前記第1のα,β−エチレン性不飽和カルボン酸の共重合単位を含み;かつ前記第2の前駆体酸コポリマーが、約20〜約25重量%の前記第2のα,β−エチレン性不飽和カルボン酸の共重合単位を含み;かつ前記第2のα,β−エチレン性不飽和カルボン酸が、前記第1のα,β−エチレン性不飽和カルボン酸と同じかもしくは異なってもよく;かつ前記第2のα,β−エチレン性不飽和カルボン酸の量が、前記第1のα,β−エチレン性不飽和カルボン酸の量と同じかもしくは異なってもよいか;または前記イオノマーブレンドの前記中和レベルが約15%〜約70%であり、前記イオノマーブレンドがカルボキシレート基およびカチオンを含み、かつ前記カチオンがナトリウムカチオンから実質的になるか;または前記イオノマーブレンドの前記中和レベルで、前記第1のイオノマーが約0.7〜約10g/10分の溶融流量を有し、かつ前記第2のイオノマーが約5g/10分以下の溶融流量を有するか;または前記イオノマーブレンドが、約60〜約95重量%の前記第1のイオノマーおよび約5〜約40重量%の前記第2のイオノマーを含む、上記1に記載の組成物。
3.上記1もしくは上記2に記載の組成物を含む、または上記1もしくは上記2に記載の組成物から製造された物品。
4.前記物品が、浸漬被覆、溶液流延、積層、溶融押出、ブローンフィルム、押出被覆、およびタンデム押出被覆からなる群より選択される方法によって調製されたフィルムもしくはシートである;または前記物品が、圧縮成形、射出成形、押出成形、および吹込成形からなる群より選択される方法によって調製された成形品である、上記3に記載の物品。
5.前記物品が、少なくとも約1mmの最小厚さを有する射出成形品である;または前記物品が、上記1に記載の組成物から実質的になる層を少なくとも1層有する多層構造を有する射出成形品であり、前記少なくとも1層が、少なくとも約1mmの最小厚さを有する、上記4に記載の物品。
6.前記物品が、シート、容器、キャップもしくはストッパー、トレー、医療用デバイスもしくは器具、ハンドル、ノブ、押ボタン、装飾用品、パネル、コンソールボックス、または履物部材である、上記5に記載の物品。
7.前記物品が、同時射出成形;オーバーモールド成形;射出吹込成形;射出延伸吹込成形、および押出吹込成形からなる群より選択される方法によって製造される、上記5に記載の物品。
8.上記1に記載の組成物から実質的になり、約1〜約100mmの厚さを有する、射出成形により調製された物品。
Claims (4)
- イオノマーブレンドを含む組成物であって、前記イオノマーブレンドは、前記イオノマーブレンドの総重量に基づき、約5〜約95重量%の第1のイオノマーおよび約95〜約5重量%の第2のイオノマーを含み、前記イオノマーブレンドは、前記イオノマーブレンド中の中和されているカルボン酸基および中和されていないカルボン酸基の総数に基づき10%〜90%の中和レベルを有し:
(A)前記第1のイオノマーは、第1の前駆体酸コポリマーの中和生成物であり、ナトリウムカチオンを含み;そしてi)前記第1の前駆体酸コポリマーは、2個〜10個の炭素原子を有する第1のα−オレフィンの共重合単位を含み、さらに、前記第1の前駆体酸コポリマーの総重量に基づき約20〜約30重量%の、3個〜8個の炭素原子を有する第1のα,β−エチレン性不飽和カルボン酸の共重合単位を含み;ii)前記第1の前駆体酸コポリマーは、約70〜約1000g/10分の溶融流量を有し;かつiii)前記第1の前駆体酸コポリマーは、約40%〜約90%のレベルまで中和され、かつナトリウムカチオンから実質的になる対イオンを含む場合、ナトリウムイオノマーを生成し;そして前記ナトリウムイオノマーは、約0.7〜約25g/10分の溶融流量、およびASTM D3418に準拠して示差走査熱分析(DSC)により測定される場合に検出不可能な、または約3.0j/g未満の凍結エンタルピーを有し;
(B)前記第2のイオノマーは、第2の前駆体酸コポリマーの中和生成物であり、ナトリウムカチオンを含み、i)前記第2の前駆体酸コポリマーは、2個〜10個の炭素原子を有する第2のα−オレフィンの共重合単位;および前記第2の前駆体酸コポリマーの総重量に基づき約18〜約30重量%の、3個〜8個の炭素原子を有する第2のα,β−エチレン性不飽和カルボン酸の共重合単位を含み;前記第2のα−オレフィンは、前記第1のα−オレフィンと同じかまたは異なってもよく;前記第2のα−オレフィンの量は、前記第1のα−オレフィンの量と同じかまたは異なってもよく;前記第2のα,β−エチレン性不飽和カルボン酸は、第1のα,β−エチレン性不飽和カルボン酸と同じかまたは異なってもよく;かつ前記第2のα,β−エチレン性不飽和カルボン酸の量は、前記第1のα,β−エチレン性不飽和カルボン酸の量と同じかまたは異なってもよく;ii)前記第2の前駆体酸コポリマーは、約60g/10分以下の溶融流量を有し;かつiii)前記第2のイオノマーは、前記イオノマーブレンドの前記中和レベルで約10g/10分以下の溶融流量を有し;そして前記イオノマーブレンドの前記中和レベルでの前記第2のイオノマーの溶融流量は、同中和レベルでの前記第1のイオノマーの溶融流量と異なり;そして
