Description
IPS−TFT−LCDにおいては、原理上数μm程度の幅を持つ細長い電極(櫛歯電極(Inter digital electrode )と称する場合もある)を多数配設する必要がある。そのため、微細な段差構造が形成される。
IPS−TFT−LCDにおいては、初期配向方向は原理上電極が伸びた方向、或いはそれと垂直な方向からある一定以上の角度をもってずらして設定する必要がある。ここで電極とは、信号配線電極、画素内の共通電極、画素電極を指す。
IPS−TFT−LCDの特徴の一つとして、暗レベル(黒表示)の沈み込みが良好である点が挙げられる。そのため、他の方式に比較して配向の乱れが目立ちやすい。
本実施例の効果を説明するための比較例として、配向制御膜以外は第1実施例の場合と同様にして、酸二無水物として、下記一般式〔化合物27〕に示したピロメリット酸二無水物と、ジアミン化合物として、下記一般式〔化合物28〕に示したm−フェニレンジアミンからなるポリアミック酸ワニスを用いて液晶表示パネルを構成した。

- 光反応性の配向制御膜に用いられる配向膜材料であって、
前記配向膜材料が、シクロブタンテトラカルボン酸二無水物及びその誘導体とジアミン化合物からなるポリアミック酸またはポリイミドとからなり、
前記シクロブタンテトラカルボン酸二無水物及びその誘導体が、下記一般式で示される化合物1から化合物3(但し、R1,R2,R3,R4はそれぞれ独立に水素原子、フッ素原子、塩素原子、臭素原子、フェニル基又は炭素数1〜6のアルキル基、アルコキシ基又はビニル基[−(CH2)m−CH=CH2,m=0,1,2]、又はアルキニル基[−(CH2)m−CH≡CH,m=0,1,2])からなる化合物群から選択される化合物の少なくとも1種を含有し、

前記ジアミン化合物が、下記一般式で示される化合物7(但し、化合物7のR1〜R2はそれぞれ独立に水素原子、フッ素原子、塩素原子、または炭素数1〜6のアルキル基、アルコキシ基、又はビニル基[−(CH2)m−CH=CH2,m=0,1,2]、またはアルキニル基[−(CH2)m−CH≡CH,m=0,1,2]を示す。)および化合物19(化合物19のR1、R2はそれぞれ独立に水素原子、フッ素原子、塩素原子、または炭素数1〜6のアルキル基、アルコキシ基、またはビニル基[−(CH2)m−CH=CH2、m=0,1,2]、またはアルキニル基[−(CH2)m−CH≡CH,m=0,1,2]を示す。)を含有する配向膜材料。
- 光反応性の配向制御膜に用いられる配向膜材料であって、
前記配向膜材料が、シクロブタンテトラカルボン酸二無水物及びその誘導体とジアミン化合物からなるポリアミック酸またはポリイミドとからなり、
前記シクロブタンテトラカルボン酸二無水物及びその誘導体が、下記一般式で示される化合物1(但し、R1,R2,R3,R4はそれぞれ独立に水素原子、フッ素原子、塩素原子、臭素原子、フェニル基又は炭素数1〜6のアルキル基、アルコキシ基又はビニル基[−(CH2)m−CH=CH2、m=0,1,2]、又はアルキニル基[−(CH2)m−CH≡CH、m=0,1,2])を含み、
前記ジアミン化合物が、下記一般式で示される化合物4および化合物44、または、化合物16および化合物18(但し、化合物4、16、18のR1〜R6はそれぞれ独立に水素原子、フッ素原子、塩素原子、または炭素数1〜6のアルキル基、アルコキシ基、又はビニル基[−(CH2)m−CH=CH2、 m=0,1,2]、またはアルキニル基[−(CH2)m−CH≡CH,m=0,1,2]を示す。)を含有する配向膜材料(但し、R1〜R4がすべて水素原子である化合物1を含む場合、及び1,3−ジメチル−1,2,3,4−シクロブタンテトラカルボン酸二無水物を含む場合を除く)。
- 光反応性の配向制御膜に用いられる配向膜材料であって、
前記光反応性の配向制御膜が、シクロブタンテトラカルボン酸二無水物及びその誘導体とジアミン化合物からなるポリアミック酸またはポリイミドとからなり、
前記シクロブタンテトラカルボン酸二無水物及びその誘導体が、下記一般式で示される化合物2または3(但し、R1,R2,R3,R4はそれぞれ独立に水素原子、フッ素原子、塩素原子、臭素原子、フェニル基または炭素数1〜6のアルキル基、アルコキシ基またはビニル基[−(CH2)m−CH=CH2、m=0,1,2]、またはアルキニル基[−(CH2)m−CH≡CH、m=0,1,2])からなる化合物群から選択される化合物の少なくとも一種を含有し、
前記ジアミン化合物が、下記一般式で示される化合物4から化合物22(但し、化合物5から化合物18のRl〜R8はそれぞれ独立に水素原子、フッ素原子、塩素原子、または炭素数1〜6のアルキル基、アルコキシ基、またはビニル基[−(CH2)m−CH=CH2、m=0,1,2]、またはアルキニル基[−(CH2)m−CH≡CH、m=0、1、2]を示す。また、化合物10〜12においてXは−CH2−,−NH−,−CO−,−O−,−S−の結合基を示す。また、化合物21、22のR1はそれぞれ独立に炭素数1〜6のアルキル基を示す。また、化合物4、化合物19及び化合物20のR1、R2はそれぞれ独立に水素原子、フッ素原子、塩素原子、又は炭素数1〜6のアルキル基、アルコキシ基、又はビニル基[−(CH2)m−CH−CH2、m=0,1,2]、又はアルキニル基[−(CH2)m−CH≡CH、m=0,1,2]を示す。また、化合物20のR3、R4はそれぞれ独立に炭素数1〜6のアルキル基を示す。)からなる化合物群から選択される化合物の少なくとも1種を含有することを特徴とする配向膜材料。
- 前記光反応性の配向制御膜が、シクロブタンテトラカルボン酸二無水物及びその誘導体とジアミン化合物からなるポリアミック酸又はポリイミドの繰り返し構造を少なくとも50%以上含んでいることを特徴とする請求項1乃至6のいずれか1項に記載の配向膜材料。
- 前記配向膜材料として、さらに、NMP、γブチルラクトンまたはブチルセロソルブを含む請求項1乃至7のいずれか1項に記載の配向膜材料。
