Description
Claims (6)
- 内燃機関の状態に応じて稼働又は休止が選択される休止可能気筒を少なくとも1つ含む休止可能気筒群と、前記内燃機関の稼動中に常に稼働する常時稼働気筒からなる常時稼働気筒群とを有する内燃機関であって、
前記休止可能気筒群の周囲に設けられた第1水通路と、
前記常時稼働気筒群の周囲に設けられた第2水通路と、
上流側においてポンプに連通する一方、下流側が前記第1水通路及び前記第2水通路の上流側に連通する上流側集合水通路と、
上流側が分岐して前記第1水通路及び前記第2水通路の下流側に連通し、中間部に合流部を有し、下流側がラジエータに連通する下流側集合水通路と、
前記ラジエータと前記ポンプとを連通する連結通路と、
前記下流側集合水通路における前記第2水通路側の上流端と前記合流部との間の部分と、前記連結通路とを繋ぐ第3水通路と、
前記第3水通路を流れる水との間で熱交換するように、前記第3水通路の少なくとも一部に隣接して配置されたデバイスと、
前記下流側集合水通路の前記合流部よりも下流側の部分、又は前記連結通路の前記第3水通路が連通する部分よりも上流側の部分に設けられ、前記ラジエータへの水の流通を制御する開閉弁とを有することを特徴とする内燃機関。 - 前記開閉弁は、前記内燃機関の水温が、前記休止可能気筒群の全てが休止される温度よりも高い所定の温度以上で開き、前記ラジエータへの水の流通を可能にすることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の内燃機関。
- 前記常時稼働気筒及び前記休止可能気筒の少なくとも一方に連通した排気通路を有し、
前記排気通路を流れる排気と前記第3水通路を流れる水との間で熱交換するように、前記排気通路の一部が前記第3水通路に隣接して配置されていることを特徴とする請求項1又は請求項2に記載の内燃機関。 - 前記排気通路の前記一部は、排気を当該内燃機関の吸気系に導入するEGR通路であることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の内燃機関。
- 前記第3水通路の一部と前記EGR通路は、1つの成形体に形成されていることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の内燃機関。
- 当該内燃機関は、2つのバンクを有し、
前記休止可能気筒群及び前記第1水通路は、一方のバンクに形成され、
前記常時稼働気筒群及び前記第2水通路は、他方のバンクに形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1〜請求項5のいずれか1つの項に記載の内燃機関。
