Description
The present invention relates to a micro scanner and an optical apparatus having the micro scanner.
In recent years, various small projectors that scan laser light and project an image on a wall surface or a screen have been developed. The small projector includes a light source that emits laser light and a micro scanner that scans the laser light using a MEMS (MicRo ElectRo Mechanical Systems) device.
A conventional micro scanner will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 8 is a front view of a conventional micro scanner. As shown in FIG. 8, the conventional micro scanner is connected to a
The
The main
When the
In the micro scanner, by increasing the swing angle (deflection angle) of the
For example, in the micro scanner described in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2009-80379, as shown in FIG. 9, the connecting
Such microscanners are considered to be mounted on mobile devices such as mobile phones and digital cameras because of their small size and light weight. The micro scanner mounted on the mobile device is more likely to be subjected to an impact due to vibration, dropping or the like than the micro scanner mounted on a stationary device. When an impact is applied to the micro scanner, a large force is also applied to the
Therefore, in the optical deflector described in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2009-169089, an impact mitigating portion is provided on the support portion (fixed frame), and the impact acting on the mirror portion due to the impact of dropping or vibration is mitigated to effectively damage the optical deflector. To avoid.
However, the impact mitigating portion of Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2009-169089 has a complicated structure such as a spring structure in order to relieve vibration and impact of the mirror portion, and it takes time and effort to manufacture. In addition, the impact mitigation part has a complicated structure and has a size necessary for absorbing the impact when the mirror part moves, so it is difficult to reduce the size, and there is a place where it can be attached. Limited.
An optical deflector (micro scanner) mounted on a mobile device may be driven while being held in a user's hand. In this case, the micro scanner may be subjected to an impact due to vibration or dropping during driving (scanning of the laser beam). In the optical polarizer of Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2009-169089, since the impact relaxation portion is formed at a location away from the torsion bar, when the impact is applied when the deflection angle of the mirror portion is the largest, the mirror portion There is a risk that the mirror part or the torsion bar may be damaged because the mirror part does not come into contact with the shock relaxation part due to displacement from the shock relaxation part.
In the optical polarizer disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2009-169089, it is possible to bring the mirror portion into contact with the impact relaxation portion by forming the mirror portion thicker or thickening the impact relaxation portion. However, if the mirror part is formed thick, the mirror part becomes heavy and power consumption increases. Furthermore, since the resonance frequency of the mirror part is lowered, the scanning performance is lowered. In addition, when the impact relaxation portion is formed thick, the manufacturing process of the optical deflector increases, or the clearance varies due to a decrease in processing accuracy.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to provide a micro scanner that can suppress failure and breakage due to vibration and impact without increasing power consumption and degrading the deflection angle and scanning performance.
To achieve the above object, the present invention provides a movable part having a flat surface, a fixed frame surrounding the movable part, a main shaft part that supports the movable part in a swingable manner, and displacement to the movable part or the main shaft part. The movable portion includes a connecting portion to which the main shaft portion is connected, and the movable portion is in a state where the connecting portion is not swung in the axial direction of the main shaft portion. It is characterized by comprising a restricting portion that is arranged close to the direction perpendicular to both the normal direction of the plane.
According to this configuration, since the restricting portion is formed near the connecting portion to which the main shaft portion is connected, a force due to an impact or vibration acts when the movable portion is oscillating, and the main shaft is Even when the movable part moves in a direction orthogonal to both the axial direction of the movable part and the normal direction of the plane of the movable part at the time of non-oscillation, the connecting part reliably contacts the restricting part. Accordingly, the micro scanner can be formed without forming the movable portion thick in order to securely contact the restricting portion or increasing the strength of the connecting portion between the displacement portion and the movable portion or the main shaft portion. Can be prevented. Further, by reducing the thickness of the movable part, it is possible to suppress lightweight storage and to reduce the power required for driving the micro scanner.
In addition, by making the movable portion thin, it is possible to reduce the weight, and a sufficient swing angle (deflection angle) can be obtained. In addition, since the resonance frequency can be made sufficiently higher (about ten times or more) than the oscillation frequency around the main shaft portion, it can be stably oscillated, thereby providing a microscanner with high scanning performance. Is possible.
The said structure WHEREIN: The said control part may be extended from the said fixed frame, and may be extended from the said displacement part. Since the restricting portion is formed near the swing axis of the movable portion, even when a force due to an impact or vibration is applied when the movable portion is swinging, the connecting portion is The movement of the movable part can be restricted by contacting the restriction part, and the damage of the micro scanner can be suppressed.
The said structure WHEREIN: At least the said control part and the said connection part may be formed by processing one board | substrate. According to this configuration, it is possible to prepare a micro scanner with high positional accuracy between the restricting portion and the connecting portion. Thereby, when an impact or vibration is applied, the connecting portion can be reliably brought into contact with the restricting portion before the connecting portion connecting the main shaft portion and the displacement portion is damaged. Can be prevented.
In the above configuration, the movable part or the main shaft part and the displacement part are connected via a connection part that is easily deformed, and the connection part is between a plurality of beam-like lever parts and the plurality of lever parts. The space | interval of the said connection part and the said control part may be formed narrower than the width | variety of the said slit.
The said structure WHEREIN: The said movable part may be provided with the mirror part which reflects light in part at least. According to this configuration, one-dimensional scanning is possible by reflecting the light emitted from the light source by the mirror unit. Further, a movable frame that surrounds the mirror part, and a mirror torsion bar that supports the mirror part on the movable frame in a swingable manner and extends in a direction intersecting the main axis direction may be provided. According to this configuration, two-dimensional scanning is possible by reflecting the light emitted from the light source by the mirror unit.
In the above configuration, the displacement part has a unimorph structure including a cantilever holding part connected to the fixed frame and a piezoelectric element having a reverse piezoelectric effect attached to a surface of the holding part. Alternatively, a cantilever-shaped holding unit connected to the fixed frame, and a coil or a magnet may be disposed in the holding unit, and the holding unit may be displaced by electromagnetic force.
The micro scanner of the present invention can be mounted on an optical device. Examples of the optical device include a small projector device, an image scanner, a barcode reader, and a laser printer optical scanning unit mounted on a mobile phone or a digital camera.
According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a micro scanner capable of suppressing failure and breakage due to vibration and impact without increasing power consumption, causing a decrease in deflection angle and scanning performance.
A micro scanner according to the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. Here, a mirror part is taken as an example of a fluctuating member (fluctuating part), and a two-dimensional scanning optical scanner is taken as an example as a microscanner that reflects light by changing the mirror part and performs a scanning operation. . In addition, in order to make an understanding easy (in order to distinguish a part easily), a top view may be hatched. In addition, for convenience, member codes and / or hatching may be omitted, and in such a case, other drawings are referred to.
FIG. 1 is a plan view of an optical scanner employing a micro scanner according to the present invention. As shown in FIG. 1, the optical scanner OS includes a fixed frame 1, a movable portion 2 (upper right hatch), a main shaft torsion bar 3 (main shaft portion), a
As shown in FIG. 1, the fixed frame 1 is a rectangular plate-like member surrounding the
As shown in FIG. 1, the fixed frame 1, the main
The
The
The
The
The connecting
Next, the
As shown in FIG. 1, one end of the main
The
More specifically, by applying a voltage to the
As shown in FIG. 1, the optical scanner OS includes four
The connecting

Since the connecting
And the
Further, as the connection portion used in the optical scanner OS of the present invention, the connection portion 5 (5A) formed in a meandering shape as shown in FIG. 9 or the like is used, but is not limited to this. Even if a connecting portion 7A having a shape in which through-hole-shaped slits ST1 and concave-shaped slits ST2 formed from the left and right sides are alternately arranged as shown in FIG. It is possible to increase the shear strain. In the following description, the

Further, as the connection portion used in the optical scanner OS of the present invention, the connection portion 5 (5A) formed in a meandering shape as shown in FIGS. 2, 9 and the like is used. However, the connection portion is not limited to this. is not. FIG. 3 is an enlarged front view of another example of the connecting portion. Even if the connecting portion 7A having the shape in which the through-hole-shaped slit ST1 and the concave-shaped slit ST2 formed from the left and right sides are alternately arranged as shown in FIGS. It is possible to increase the shear strain of the
As shown in FIG. 3, when the width in the Y direction of the slit ST1 and the slit ST2 is T1, and the width in the Y direction of the connecting
In addition, as the connection portion, the
The optical scanner OS according to the present invention is assumed to be mounted on portable electronic devices such as mobile phones and digital cameras because of its small size and light weight. A portable electronic device may be strongly swung or dropped, and in this case, a strong impact (acceleration of about several thousand G) may act on the micro scanner. When an impact acts on the optical scanner OS as shown in FIG. 1, a force in the X direction also acts on the
When a force in the Y direction acts on the optical scanner OS, a force in the Y direction also acts on the
In the optical scanner OS shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the width T1 in the Y direction of the slit ST of the connecting
In the above-described embodiment, the optical scanner OS in which T2 <T1 is illustrated in order to reduce the stress acting on the
Next, driving when scanning light with the optical scanner OS will be described in detail. First, the swinging of the
The main shaft torsion bar 3AC is twisted around the X axis as the
Since the connecting
Then, the
Both the main shaft torsion bar 3AC and the main shaft torsion bar 3BD are disposed on the X axis and are connected to a connecting
Although the
Since the optical scanner OS is mounted on a portable electronic device, the user may drive it by hand. As described above, when the optical scanner OS is driven by hand, the impact force due to dropping or vibration as described above may act when the optical scanner OS is driven. Here, the case where an impact acts when the
As shown in FIG. 4, when the
In addition, although the clearance gap between the
Next, rocking around an axis orthogonal to the X axis of the mirror part 21 (Y axis when the
More detailed description is as follows. The
Similarly to the main shaft torsion bar 3AC, the main shaft torsion bar 3BD is also bent by the
Then, the
By vibrating the displacement part 4 (4A, 4B, 4C, 4D) as described above, the
As described above, in the optical scanner OS of the present invention, the movement of the
In such an optical scanner OS, since the horizontal scanning lines are scanned at equal intervals, it is necessary to swing around the X axis at a constant speed. For this reason, driving of the
In the case of the optical scanner OS of the present invention, as described above, since the portion constituting the
Another example of an optical scanner employing the micro scanner according to the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 5 is a front view of another example of an optical scanner employing the micro scanner according to the present invention. The optical scanner OS2 shown in FIG. 5 does not have the surrounding portion 11 and has the same configuration as the optical scanner OS shown in FIG. The same reference numerals are attached. Moreover, although demonstrated as what the
As shown in FIG. 5, the optical scanner OS <b> 2 has an
Even when a force in the Y direction is applied to the optical scanner OS2, the connecting
Like the optical scanner OS <b> 2, the
In the above-described embodiment, the end of the main
In each of the above-described embodiments, an optical scanner that performs two-dimensional scanning with light is described as an example of the present invention. However, an optical scanner that performs one-dimensional scanning may be used. In this case, an example in which the whole or a part of the movable part is formed in the mirror part can be mentioned. In each of the above embodiments, the microscanner is described as an example that scans while reflecting light at the mirror, but is not limited thereto, and a lens is used as an optical element that replaces the mirror. A self-luminous optical element such as an LED, a laser diode or the like may be used. Furthermore, the displacement part of the bimorph structure in which the piezoelectric element is pasted on the cantilever-shaped holding part is adopted as the power source (actuator) of the movable part, but the present invention is not limited to this. In addition, a displacement portion that is displaced by an electromagnetic force using a coil, a permanent magnet, or the like may be employed.
Further, in each of the above-described embodiments, the movable part held by the spindle torsion bar is swung by twisting the spindle torsion bar with the displacement generated in the displacement part, but the displacement part and the movable part are connected. It may be configured to connect via a portion, and the movable portion may be swung by a displacement generated at the displacement portion.
A projector apparatus as an example of an optical apparatus using an optical scanner according to the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. FIG. 6 is a diagram showing a usage state of a projector apparatus which is an example of the optical apparatus according to the present invention, and FIG. 7 is a block diagram of the projector apparatus shown in FIG. In FIG. 7, the laser beam is indicated by a two-dot chain line. As shown in FIG. 6, the projector apparatus PJ is an image projection apparatus that projects an image on a screen SC by performing horizontal scanning and vertical scanning raster scanning of laser light.
As shown in FIG. 7, the projector device A includes a
