Description
本発明の一実施形態に係る光情報記録媒体10は、図1に示すように、基板11と、サーボ信号層12と、複数の記録層14と、複数の中間層15と、カバー層16とを備えてなる。
Rは置換基を表し、置換基としては、特に限定されず、具体的には、アルキル基、アルコキシ基、アルコキシアルキル基、アリールオキシ基、などが挙げられる。mは0以上4以下の整数を表す。
0.001<((n2−n1)/(n2+n1))2<0.04
を満たすのが望ましい。
所望の記録層14に情報を記録するとき、その記録層14に、記録すべき情報に応じて出力が変調されたレーザ光(記録光RB)を照射する。記録層14が、多光子吸収化合物を主たる記録色素として有する場合、このレーザ光には、ピークパワーを大きくできるパルスレーザ光を用いるとよい。そして、記録光RBの焦点の位置は、図5に示すように、レーザ光の奥側界面18から記録光RBの入射側にω0<d<3ω0を満たすオフセット量dだけずらすのがよい。ここでのω0は、図3に示した記録スポットMの半径である。この半径ω0は、図3の左の記録スポットMのように記録光RBと光情報記録媒体10を相対的に移動させていないときの円形状のスポットの半径であり、図3の中央および右の2つの記録スポットMのように、記録光RBと光情報記録媒体10を互いに相対的に移動させた結果細長い形状となった場合には、記録スポットMの幅の半分として測定することができる。
まず、図8(a)に示すように、基板11の上にサーボ信号層12を設けたワークに対し、中間層15を形成する。これにより、中間層15の表面が、後に記録層14が形成される記録層形成面Fとなる。なお、中間層15の具体的な形成方法については後述するので、ここでは詳細な説明を省略する。また、サーボ信号層12が記録層14と異なる屈折率を有する場合には、サーボ信号層12の表面を記録層形成面Fとし、サーボ信号層12の上に記録層14を形成してもよい。
例えば、前記実施形態においては、記録層14は、記録光の照射により屈折率が小さくなるものを例示したが、記録光の照射により屈折率が大きくなるような記録材料を用いてもよい。この場合には、図11に示すように、記録スポットMが読出光OBを集めるように作用するので、記録部分において未記録部分よりも高い反射率で読出光OBを反射し、記録部分と未記録部分の反射光強度の変調が発生する。もっとも、変調度を高くして再生出力において高いS/N比を得るためには、記録層14においては、前記した実施形態のように、記録光の照射により屈折率が小さくなる記録材料を用いるのが望ましい。

Claims (8)
- 記録光の照射により屈折率が変化する複数の記録層と、当該複数の記録層の間に設けられる中間層とを備えた光情報記録媒体であって、
前記中間層は、
前記記録層に対し記録光が入射される側とは反対側で隣接する第1中間層と、
前記記録層に対し記録光が入射される側で隣接する第2中間層とを備え、
前記第1中間層は、前記記録層と異なる屈折率を有し、
前記第2中間層は、前記記録層と略同一の屈折率を有し、
前記第1中間層と前記第2中間層との界面は、前記第1中間層と前記第2中間層が混じり合うことで当該界面における記録再生光の反射が生じない程度に徐々に屈折率が変化していることを特徴とする光情報記録媒体。 - 前記記録層は、色素を含有する樹脂からなり、
前記第1中間層および前記第2中間層は、前記記録光に対し透明な樹脂からなることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光情報記録媒体。 - 前記記録層の屈折率をn1、前記第1中間層の屈折率をn2として、
0.001<((n2−n1)/(n2+n1))2<0.04
を満たすことを特徴とする請求項1または請求項2に記載の光情報記録媒体。 - 請求項1から請求項3のいずれか1項に記載の光情報記録媒体の製造方法であって、
記録層形成面に対し、記録層の材料を塗布する第1工程と、
前記記録層を硬化させる第2工程と、
前記記録層の上に、第2中間層の材料を塗布する第3工程と、
前の工程で塗布した第2中間層を硬化させる前または一部硬化させた後に第1中間層の材料を塗布する第4工程と、
前記第1中間層および前記第2中間層を硬化させる第5工程とを有し、
前記各工程を繰り返し行うことを特徴とする、光情報記録媒体の製造方法。 - 前記第3工程と前記第4工程の間に、
前記第2中間層を硬化させる第6工程と、
前記第2中間層の上に第2中間層の材料を塗布する第7工程とを有することを特徴とする請求項4に記載の光情報記録媒体の製造方法。 - 前記記録層の塗布、前記第1中間層の塗布および前記第2中間層の塗布は、スピンコートにより行うことを特徴とする請求項4または請求項5に記載の光情報記録媒体の製造方法。
- 前記記録層の材料、前記第1中間層の材料および前記第2中間層の材料として光硬化性樹脂を含み、前記第2工程および前記第5工程においては、光を照射することで前記記録層の材料、前記第1中間層の材料および前記第2中間層の材料を硬化させることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の光情報記録媒体の製造方法。
- 前記記録層の材料、前記第1中間層の材料および前記第2中間層の材料として光硬化性樹脂を含み、前記第2工程、前記第6工程および前記第5工程においては、光を照射することで前記記録層の材料、前記第1中間層の材料および前記第2中間層の材料を硬化させることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の光情報記録媒体の製造方法。
