Description
図1は、本実施形態に係る表示装置の概略構成図である。すなわち、本実施形態の表示装置であるディスプレイパネル10は、表示エリア(センサエリア)11と、表示用H(水平)方向の走査を行う選択スイッチ12と、表示用V(垂直)方向を走査するVドライバ13と、ディスプレイドライバ14と、センサドライバ15と、複数のフォトセンサPSとを備えている。
図3は、本実施形態の表示装置における表示制御方法を説明するタイミングチャートである。ここでは、照度を測定する動作を説明する。まず、図2に示す回路全体にリセットをかける。リセットは、リセットトランジスタTr-resetをONにするとともに、フォトセンサPSの金属に接続されたスイッチSWをONにする。これにより、フォトセンサPSの出力線であるnode Aはリセット電位に固定される。
図4は、2つのフォトセンサを用いて表示制御を行う構成を説明する回路図である。すなわち、この構成では、表示エリアの周辺の光量を検出する第1のフォトセンサPS1と、遮光時の暗電流を検出する第2のフォトセンサPS2とを用い、これらの検出結果と所定の基準値との比較を一つのコンパレータ102で行うものである。このため、第1のフォトセンサPS1と第2のフォトセンサPS2とを切り替えるとともに、コンパレータ102を時分割で動作させる。各フォトセンサPS1、PS2には、先に説明したようなプリチャージ電圧の印加を制御するスイッチ(図示せず)が設けられている。
本実施形態に係る表示装置は、図5に示すようにフラット型のモジュール形状のものを含む。例えば絶縁性の基板上に、液晶素子、薄膜トランジスタ、薄膜容量、受光素子等からなる画素をマトリックス状に集積形成した画素アレイ部を設ける、この画素アレイ部(画素マトリックス部)を囲むように接着剤を配し、ガラス等の対向基板を貼り付けて表示モジュールとする。この透明な対向基板には必要に応じて、カラーフィルタ、保護膜、遮光膜等を設けてもよい。表示モジュールには、外部から画素アレイ部への信号等を入出力するためのコネクタとして例えばFPC(フレキシブルプリントサーキット)を設けてもよい。
本実施形態に係る表示装置は、以下のような表示撮像装置に適用可能である。また、この表示撮像装置は、先に説明した各種電子機器に適用可能である。図11には、表示撮像装置の全体構成を表すものである。この表示撮像装置は、I/Oディスプレイパネル2000と、バックライト1500と、表示ドライブ回路1200と、受光ドライブ回路1300と、画像処理部1400と、アプリケーションプログラム実行部1100とを備えている。
Claims (4)
- 表示領域の周辺の光量を検出する検出素子と、
前記検出素子の出力と所定の基準値との比較を行う比較器と、
前記比較器による比較結果に応じて前記表示領域へ与える光量を制御する制御手段と、
前記検出素子の受光部と絶縁膜を介して存在する金属に接続され、プリチャージ電位の印加を制御するスイッチと、
を備え、
前記検出素子による光量の検出を開始する前に前記検出素子の出力をリセット電位に固定すると共に前記スイッチをオン状態にして前記検出素子の受光部と前記金属との間の寄生容量に電荷を蓄積し、前記検出素子による光量の検出を行う際には前記スイッチをオフ状態にして前記金属の電位をフローティングにする
表示装置。 - 前記検出素子は、黒のカラーフィルタが設けられた第1のフォトセンサと、黒のカラーフィルタが設けられていない第2のフォトセンサとを含み、
前記検出素子の出力は、前記第2のフォトセンサの出力から前記第1のフォトセンサの出力を差し引いた差分値である
請求項1に記載の表示装置。 - 表示領域の周辺の光量を検出手段によって検出し、この検出値と所定の基準値との比較結果に基づき前記表示領域へ与える光量を制御する表示制御方法において、
検出素子による光量の検出を開始する前に前記検出素子の出力をリセット電位に固定すると共に前記検出素子の受光部と絶縁膜を介して存在する金属にプリチャージ電位を印加して当該受光部と当該金属との間の寄生容量に電荷を蓄積し、前記検出素子による光量の検出を行う際には前記金属の電位をフローティングにする
表示制御方法。 - 請求項1又は2に記載の表示装置が筐体に設けられた電子機器。
