Description
The present invention, a developing device, a removable process cartridge in the image forming apparatus having a developing apparatus together, developing device or a copying machine having the process cartridge having a developing row La for visualizing the electrostatic latent image The present invention relates to image forming apparatuses such as printers, facsimiles, and plotters.
Recent copiers and printers have a very high demand for high image quality. In recent years, the improvement of the network environment such as the Internet and the spread of personal computers and digital cameras are remarkable, so the opportunity to compare images obtained from them with images output from digital multifunction peripherals and printers has increased greatly. There is a background of being.
In response to such a requirement,
However, since the developing gap is narrowed, there has been a problem that the deviation between the central portion and both ends of the developing roller in the amount of developer drawn is output as an image density deviation as it is.
When the development gap is narrowed from 0.5 mm (0.2 to 0.4 mm), the developer pumping amount is reduced from 70 mg to 50 mg, and the developer accumulates or overflows in the development nip, or the photosensitive member or development. It is necessary to prevent it from sticking to the roller. If the pumping amount is small, the fluctuation and the rate of deviation of the pumping amount at the center and both ends of the developing roller will increase, making it extremely sensitive to image density. I'm stuck.
The pumping amount deviation is a phenomenon that has been confirmed to some extent from the conventional machine, but it is a problem to improve the image quality due to the mechanism described above. In a color image forming apparatus in which a plurality of colors are superimposed, if the image density deviation of a single color of each color is different at both ends or the center of the image, the original color cannot be expressed when outputting the image, etc. It becomes behind.
When the present inventors conducted a mechanism analysis on the conventional “deviation of the pumping amount between the central portion and both ends of the developing roller”, it was confirmed that the following are the most of the factors.
(1) The magnet roller inside the developing roller is bent at its center by its own weight, and as a result, the distance between the developing sleeve surface covering the magnet roller and the magnet roller (with a slight clearance) becomes narrower on the lower side of the developing roller. Then it becomes wide. Due to this deviation in the clearance, the apparent magnetic force on the developing sleeve differs between the roller center and both ends. For this reason, a deviation occurs in the restraining force of the developer on the sleeve toward the developing roller, resulting in a pumping amount deviation.
(2) The developing sleeve is deformed although it is very minute due to the agent pressure with the doctor (developer regulating member), and the distance between the magnet roller and the developing sleeve is deviated as in (1). Further, only when the agent pressure is applied, a deviation is generated in the clearance between the developing roller (strictly, the developing sleeve) and the developer regulating member (the central portion is widened), thereby causing a deviation in the pumping amount.
(3) The developer regulating member is often fixed at both ends thereof, and therefore the central portion is slightly bent by the pressure when regulating the amount of developer. When the agent pressure is applied by this bending, a deviation occurs in the clearance between the developing roller and the developer regulating member (the central portion is widened), thereby causing a deviation in the pumping amount.
In the case of a developing device in which a developer restricting member is disposed substantially above the developing roller, since (1) and (2) have vectors that cancel each other out, attention is not paid. The vector will be synergistic, and the issues will become prominent.
With regard to (3), there is a technique in which a fixed portion of the doctor is provided not only at both ends but also at a central portion to provide a plurality of fixed portions of three points or more, but the developer retaining portion shape of the developer regulating member is a developer. In some cases, it is difficult to increase the number of fixing points because it affects the service life due to fluctuations in charging characteristics over time.
The present invention can suppress the pumping amount deviation, the current image device that can realize high image quality, the provision of a process cartridge and an image forming apparatus, and an object.

現像装置4a〜4dのトナーの色はそれぞれ異なり、例えばY(イエロー)、M(マゼンタ)、C(シアン)、Bk(ブラック)である。
Hereinafter, a first embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS.
In FIG. 1, a plurality of photosensitive drums (image carriers) arranged in parallel are individually provided with a developing device, and single-color toner images are formed on the respective photosensitive drums, and these single-color toner images are sequentially transferred intermediately. An image forming portion of a so-called tandem type color copying machine (image forming apparatus) in which a composite color image is recorded on a sheet after being transferred to a belt is shown.
Explaining the structure, a latent image is optically formed by the writing means 3 on the photosensitive drums 1a to 1d uniformly charged by the charging rollers 2a to 2d as charging means (writing positions (3a to 3d)). Visualized images of toner are formed by the developing devices 4a to 4d as developing means, and the toner colors of the developing devices 4a to 4d are different, for example, Y (yellow), M (magenta), C (cyan), Bk. The toner images formed on the photoconductive drums 1 a to 1 d are temporarily transferred to the

When the toner density detecting means 21 (see FIG. 2) in the developing devices 4a to 4d determines that the toner density in the developing devices 4a to 4d is low, a toner replenishing screw (not shown) in the toner hoppers 11a to 11d is shown. ) Is rotated, and an appropriate amount of toner is supplied from the toner hoppers 11a to 11d to the developing devices 4a to 4d. New toner is replenished individually for each developing device.

Next, the image forming unit will be described in detail with reference to FIG. The
The developing

Next, a mechanism related to the deviation of the developer pumping amount will be described with reference to FIGS.
As shown in FIG. 3, the developing
A developing bias is applied to the developing
The developing
The magnetic flux distribution of the
For this reason, the
In order to solve this problem, in this embodiment, a magnetic flux on the developing
Specifically, the magnetic flux density is set to be lower by 5 mT or more at the central portion than both ends of the roller.
Further, as shown in FIG. 3, force (agent pressure) 52 generated when the developer is regulated by the

In order to solve this problem, in the present embodiment, as shown in FIG. 5, the central portion of the developing
Specifically, the central portion of the developing
With this configuration, it is possible to eliminate the deviation between the central portion and both end portions when the agent pressure is applied without fixing the central portion of the developing
The advantage of the
When the image forming apparatus main body has a member for determining the development gap, the member for determining the development gap becomes far away, which is disadvantageous against bending, and there are many parts that determine the positional relationship between the members. Since the position is difficult to be determined, the development gap is not determined with high accuracy.

In addition, the same part as the said embodiment or the part which can be considered to be the same part is shown with the same code | symbol as much as possible, The description on the structure and function which were already demonstrated is abbreviate | omitted unless it is especially required, and demonstrates only the principal part.
FIG. 6 shows an electrophotographic full-color printer as an image forming apparatus according to this embodiment. The

In order to cope with this problem, in the present embodiment, as shown in FIGS. 9 and 10, a gap holding member (which holds the gap) is filled in the gap between the
