Description
本特許出願は、発明の名称を円錐形ピストンの固形物排出遠心分離機として2004年4月14日出願された米国出願第10/823,844号の一部継続出願であり、この出願全体を参考文献としてここに組み入れるものである。
本発明は、概ね遠心分離機、そして、特には、分離操作の間に蓄積した固形物を自動的に排出およびポンピングすることができる遠心分離機の切り替えアセンブリーに関するものである。
本発明によれば、粘着性がある固形物によく対応でき、供給液体に対し低い剪断加速力を与え、医学や生物学マテリアルズのような敏感なマテリアルズに特に有用な分離機になる遠心分離機が開示されている。この分離機は、また、さらに操作することなしに、これら敏感なマテリアルズの回収に有用である。

Claims (10)
- 遠心分離機本体の略中央部分に配置され、下端部が円錐形で、かつ該下端部に開口を有し、供給液体を遠心分離するために回転可能なシリンダ状ボウルと、
該開口に近接して配置され、前記供給液体を供給する操作モードの間、前記ボウルの開口と協働して供給液体をボウル内へ噴射される際の供給通路を区画すると共に、自らが閉止位置にあるとき、遠心分離後の分離液を前記ボウル内の開口から排出する際の排出通路を区画する残渣切り替えバルブと、
該残渣切り替えバルブを回転軸まわりに回転させるために動作する残渣切り替えバルブ用作動器と、
前記残渣切り替えバルブに近接して配置され、該残渣切り替えバルブが閉止位置にあるとき、該残渣切り替えバルブの下面と協働して、遠心分離後の固形物を排出するために動作する固形物切り替えバルブと、
該固形物切り替えバルブが近接配置されている最上端部を有し、該固形物切り替えバルブを動作する固形物切り替えバルブ作動用ピストンを備え、
該固形物切り替えバルブ作動用ピストンは、前記ボウルの開口から排出された固形物をポンプ作用により固形物出口ポートに導き排出する操作モードの間、前記固形物切り替えバルブを垂直軸方向に沿って上方へ動かして、前記ボウルの開口と協働することを特徴とする遠心分離機の切り替えアッセンブリー。 - 前記ボウルにおける前記開口と前記排出通路が、分離液を前記ボウルから前記排出通路へ重力により排出できるようになっていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の遠心分離機の切り替えアッセンブリー。
- 前記固形物切り替えバルブ作動用ピストン内に第1の通路の一部が設けられており、該第1の通路は、該固形物切り替えバルブ作動用ピストンの最上端部において該固形物切り替えバルブ作動用ピストンと協働することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の遠心分離機の切り替えアッセンブリー。
- 前記第1の通路が前記固形物切り替えバルブ作動用ピストンの下端部を越えて突き出ていることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の遠心分離機の切り替えアッセンブリー。
- 前記ボウルにおける前記開口と前記第1の通路は、ボウルの円錐形下端部に設けられた開口から排出された固形物をポンプ作用により固形物出口ポートに導き排出する操作モードの間、当該固形物を前記ボウルから前記第1の通路を通過させることができることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の遠心分離機の切り替えアッセンブリー。
- 前記第1の通路は、前記固形物切り替えバルブ作動用ピストン内に一部が位置する第2の通路と協働することを特徴とする請求項3に記載の遠心分離機の切り替えアッセンブリー。
- 前記第2の通路が前記固形物切り替えバルブ作動用ピストンの下端部を越えて突き出ていることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の遠心分離機の切り替えアッセンブリー。
- 前記第2の通路のポートを介して導入される圧縮空気またはハイドロリック流体が前記第1の通路に入り、該第1の通路にある固形物と接触することを特徴とする請求項7に記載の遠心分離機の切り替えアッセンブリー。
- 前記固形物切り替えバルブ作動用ピストンのまわりに環状フランジが配置されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の遠心分離機の切り替えアッセンブリー。
- 前記固形物切り替えバルブ作動用ピストンは、前記環状フランジに接触する圧縮空気またはハイドロリック流体に呼応して移動することを特徴とする請求項9に記載の遠心分離機の切り替えアッセンブリー。
