Description
The present invention relates to a method for producing a nonwoven fabric.
When the fiber diameter of the fibers constituting the nonwoven fabric is small, the fiber diameter of the fibers constituting the nonwoven fabric is excellent because of various performances such as separation performance, liquid retention performance, wiping performance, concealment performance, insulation performance or flexibility. Small is preferable. As a method for producing such an ultrafine fiber nonwoven fabric composed of ultrafine fibers having a small fiber diameter, the spinning dope is discharged from a nozzle, an electric field is applied to the discharged spinning dope, and the spinning dope is stretched to obtain ultrafine fibers directly. A so-called electrospinning method is known in which a nonwoven fabric is collected.
The nonwoven fabric produced by such an electrospinning method is inferior in mechanical strength because the constituent fibers are thin. Therefore, the applicant of the present application is “an ultrafine fiber assembly in which ultrafine fibers spun by an electrostatic spinning method are aggregated, and the ultrafine fiber assembly is derived from a spinning dope that is dripped at the same time as the ultrafine fibers are spun. An ultrafine fiber assembly characterized in that it is partially fixed by a material having the same composition as that of the ultrafine fiber has been proposed (Patent Document 1). Since this ultrafine fiber assembly is partially fixed, the mechanical strength is improved. However, there are cases where it is difficult to stably drop the spinning dope that contributes to fixing.
Then, an object of this invention is to provide the method of manufacturing the nonwoven fabric which improved the mechanical strength stably.
Claim according to one aspect of the present invention, the "polymer solution, the not dissolved in the polymer solution, and the spinning solution comprising a thermoplastic powder having a melting point lower than the melting point or decomposition temperature of the polymer, the electric field A method for producing a non-woven fabric, characterized in that after the fibers formed by spinning by the action of gas or by the action of gas are accumulated, the thermoplastic powder is heated and fused with the fibers.
The invention according to claim 2 of the present invention is “the method for producing a nonwoven fabric according to claim 1, wherein the thermoplastic powder has an average particle size of 0.5 to 10 μm”.
The invention according to claim 3 of the present invention is “a spinning solution containing a thermoplastic powder in a proportion of 0.1 to 100% by volume with respect to the solid content volume of the polymer. The manufacturing method of the nonwoven fabric as described in said.
The invention according to claim 4 of the present invention is as follows. “The heating is carried out in the range of the melting point of the thermoplastic powder ± 30 ° C., and the nonwoven fabric according to claim 1 is manufactured. Method. "
The invention according to
In the invention according to claim 1 of the present invention, since the thermoplastic powder is mixed in the spinning solution, the thermoplastic powder can be uniformly dispersed in the spun fiber and the entire nonwoven fabric. Therefore, if this thermoplastic powder is fused, a nonwoven fabric with improved mechanical strength can be produced stably.
A fiber having a small fiber diameter can be spun by spinning by the action of an electric field or gas. Thus, even a non-woven fabric made of fibers having a small fiber diameter is excellent in mechanical strength.
In the invention according to claim 2 of the present invention, since the average particle diameter of the thermoplastic powder is 0.5 to 10 μm, the pore diameter of the nonwoven fabric is not excessively increased, and the uniformity of the nonwoven fabric structure is greatly impaired. And a highly uniform nonwoven fabric with improved mechanical strength can be produced stably.
Since the invention according to claim 3 of the present invention contains the thermoplastic powder in a proportion of 0.1 to 100% by volume with respect to the solid content volume of the polymer, the air permeability after fusing is greatly impaired. And a highly uniform nonwoven fabric with improved mechanical strength can be produced stably.
In the invention according to claim 4 of the present invention, since the heating is performed in the range of the melting point of the thermoplastic powder ± 30 ° C., the flow due to excessive melting of the thermoplastic powder is suppressed, and without densifying the nonwoven fabric, It can be stably fused with the fiber.
Since the invention according to
In the method for producing a nonwoven fabric of the present invention, first, a polymer solution is prepared. The polymer solution constituting polymer varies depending on the use of the nonwoven fabric and is not particularly limited. For example, polyethylene glycol, partially saponified polyvinyl alcohol, fully saponified polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, polylactic acid, polyglycolic acid, polyacrylonitrile, polymethacrylic acid. Examples thereof include acid, polymethyl methacrylate, polycarbonate, polystyrene, polyamide, polyimide, polyethylene, and polypropylene. A spinnable sol solution obtained by hydrolyzing a metal alkoxide can also be used. Such a polymer may be one kind or may contain two or more kinds.
The polymer solution is obtained by dissolving the polymer as described above in a solvent. Since the solvent varies depending on the resin used, it is not particularly limited. For example, water, acetone, methanol, ethanol, propanol, isopropanol, tetrahydrofuran, dimethyl sulfoxide, 1,4-dioxane, pyridine, N, N-dimethyl Formamide, N, N-dimethylacetamide, N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, acetonitrile, formic acid, toluene, benzene, cyclohexane, cyclohexanone, carbon tetrachloride, methylene chloride, chloroform, trichloroethane, ethylene carbonate, diethyl carbonate, propylene carbonate, etc. Can be mentioned. One type of solvent may be sufficient and the mixed solvent which mixed two or more types of solvents may be sufficient.
A spinning solution is prepared by mixing thermoplastic powder into such a polymer solution. In the present invention, by mixing the thermoplastic powder into the spinning solution itself, the thermoplastic powder can be uniformly dispersed in the fiber itself, and as a result, the thermoplastic powder is uniformly dispersed throughout the nonwoven fabric. Made it possible.
This thermoplastic powder needs to be insoluble in the polymer solution so that the powder shape can be maintained and the fusing force can be effectively exhibited. That is, it must be insoluble in the polymer solution constituent solvent. Therefore, the composition of the thermoplastic powder varies depending on the polymer solution constituent solvent. This undissolved thermoplastic powder can maintain the powder shape for 24 hours or more in the polymer solution at the spinning temperature.
Further, the thermoplastic powder has a melting point lower than the melting point or decomposition temperature of the polymer so that even the fiber is fused at the time of fusing and the nonwoven fabric structure is not changed. In order to ensure that there is no such influence, the melting point is preferably 10 ° C. or more lower than the melting point or decomposition temperature of the polymer, more preferably 30 ° C. or more.
“Melting point” in the present invention refers to a melting temperature obtained from a differential thermal analysis curve (DTA curve) obtained by differential thermal analysis defined in JIS K 7121, and “decomposition temperature” is defined in JIS K 7120. The temperature at the time when the mass of the test piece is reduced by 5% is measured.
The average particle diameter of the thermoplastic powder varies depending on the average fiber diameter of the fibers, and thus cannot be generally stated, but is preferably 0.5 to 10 μm. When the thickness is less than 0.5 μm, the fusion effect by the thermoplastic powder tends to decrease, and it is more preferably 1 μm or more. On the other hand, if it exceeds 10 μm, the pore diameter of the nonwoven fabric tends to be large, and the nonwoven fabric structure tends to be non-uniform, and it is more preferably 5 μm or less. This “average particle diameter” refers to a value obtained by the Coulter counter method.
Such a thermoplastic powder having an average particle size of 0.5 to 10 μm is preferably contained in the spinning solution at a ratio of 0.1 to 100% by volume with respect to the solid content volume of the polymer. If it is less than 0.1% by volume, sufficient fusing force cannot be exhibited, and the mechanical strength tends to be insufficiently improved. Therefore, it is more preferably 1% by volume or more, and 5% by volume or more. More preferably. On the other hand, if it exceeds 100% by volume, the proportion of the thermoplastic powder in the nonwoven fabric becomes too high, and the air permeability tends to be impaired by fusion, so that it is more preferably 50% by volume or less, and 25% by volume. More preferably, it is as follows.
Next, fibers formed by spinning the spinning solution as described above are accumulated to form a fiber web. The spinning method of the spinning solution is not particularly limited, and examples thereof include a known dry spinning method, an electrostatic spinning method in which spinning is performed by the action of an electric field, and a method of spinning by the action of a gas. Among these, according to the electrospinning method or the method of spinning by the action of gas, since a fiber having a small fiber diameter can be spun, mechanical strength can be improved by fusing thermoplastic powder. .
A suitable electrostatic spinning method will be briefly described with reference to FIG. 1 showing a production apparatus disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2005-194675.
1 includes a spinning solution supply device 1 that can supply a spinning solution to a nozzle 2, a nozzle 2 that discharges the spinning solution supplied from the spinning solution supply device 1, and a fiber that is discharged from the nozzle 2 and drawn by an electric field. In order to form an electric field between the grounded collector 3, the nozzle 2 and the grounded collector 3, a voltage applying device 4 capable of applying a voltage to the nozzle 2, the nozzle 2 and the collector 3 Are provided, a gas supply device 7 capable of supplying a gas having a predetermined relative humidity to the spinning
When forming a long fiber web, the collector is moved and rotated in an oval shape in a direction orthogonal to the moving direction of the collector (the moving direction of the collector and the length of the ellipse). The spinning solution may be discharged from a group of nozzles whose axes are perpendicular to each other, and the fiberized fibers may be accumulated on the collector.
The spinning method using the other gas will be briefly described with reference to FIG. 2 which is a schematic sectional view of the apparatus.
The manufacturing apparatus of FIG. 2 supplies the spinning
The nonwoven fabric can be manufactured by heating the fiber web and fusing the thermoplastic powder with the fiber. Since the thermoplastic powder is thus fused with the fiber, the mechanical strength of the nonwoven fabric is improved. The heating is not particularly limited as long as the thermoplastic powder can be fused, and is preferably performed within the range of the melting point of the thermoplastic powder ± 30 ° C. Even if heated at a temperature lower than 30 ° C. and lower than the melting point of the thermoplastic powder, the thermoplastic powder is less likely to be fused, and the mechanical strength of the nonwoven fabric is not improved so much. It is more preferable to heat at a temperature or higher, and it is even more preferable to heat at a temperature that is 10 ° C. lower than the melting point. On the other hand, when heated at a temperature higher than 30 higher than the melting point of the thermoplastic powder, the fluidity of the thermoplastic powder becomes too high, and there is a tendency to close the micropores between the fibers, particularly when pressure is applied. In addition, the above tendency becomes stronger, the bulkiness of the nonwoven fabric is lost, and the air permeability tends to deteriorate. Therefore, it is more preferable to heat at a temperature not higher than 25 ° C. below the melting point, and 15% higher than the melting point. It is more preferable to heat at a high temperature or lower. The heating temperature is preferably lower than the melting point of the polymer so as not to melt even the polymer.
In addition, by pressurizing in addition to heating, fibers can be fused more strongly, and the mechanical strength can be increased. However, when pressurizing strongly, the bulkiness of the nonwoven fabric is impaired. The pressure is preferably 0.98 MPa or less. More preferably, pressurization is performed at 0.5 MPa or less.
This pressurization can be performed simultaneously with heating, or can be performed after heating. In order to pressurize simultaneously with heating as in the former, for example, it can be performed by a flat press machine, a heat calender roll, etc. In order to pressurize after heating as in the latter, for example, by oven, infrared, hot air, induction heating, etc. After heating, it can be carried out by applying pressure with a flat press, a calender roll or the like.
In the production method of the present invention as described above, the thermoplastic powder is mixed in the spinning solution, and the thermoplastic powder is uniformly dispersed in the spun fiber and the entire nonwoven fabric. Since it is fused, a nonwoven fabric with improved mechanical strength can be produced stably. Therefore, the nonwoven fabric of the present invention can be applied to various uses. For example, a non-woven fabric produced by pressurizing at 0.98 MPa or less even if not pressurized at the time of fusing is a bulky non-woven fabric, and therefore can be suitably used as a liquid or gas filter medium. In addition, the nonwoven fabric produced by spinning by the action of an electric field or by the action of a gas has a thin constituent fiber, so that a liquid or gas filter material, an insulating material, a medical sticking base material, a separator for an electric element, a wiping material, etc. It can be suitably used for applications.
EXAMPLES Hereinafter, the present invention will be specifically described by way of examples, but these do not limit the scope of the present invention.
(Examples 1-5)
A polymer solution was prepared by dissolving polyacrylonitrile having a weight average molecular weight of about 480,000 (decomposition temperature: 310 ° C.) in N, N-dimethylformamide (DMF) so as to have a concentration of 10 mass%.
Next, a fine powder (registered trademark: Flow beads, manufactured by Sumitomo Seika Co., Ltd., melting point: 105 ° C., not dissolved in DMF) containing polyethylene as a main component and having an average particle diameter of 5 μm is used as the solid volume of the polyacrylonitrile On the other hand, the spinning solution was prepared by mixing in the amounts shown in Table 1.
Next, the spinning solution was spun by an electrostatic spinning method and was collected by a collecting body to form a fiber web (average fiber diameter: 320 nm) having a polyacrylonitrile mass of about 5 g / m 2 . Then, these fiber webs were fused with polyethylene fine powder at the temperature and pressure shown in Table 1 to produce nonwoven fabrics. This fusion was carried out by heating a pair of metal sheets for pressing, whose surfaces were coated with a fluororesin, to a target temperature, and placing them in a dryer controlled to the target temperature while sandwiching each fiber web. The pressure was controlled by placing a weight in addition to the weight of the upper metal plate.

1.厚さ;
2.接着性;
3.ダルシー透過係数;
4.熱可塑性粉体又は融着点の分散性の評価;
(Measurement of non-woven fabric properties)
1. thickness;
1. Thickness at 96 kPa load (unit: μm)
2. Adhesiveness;
Adhesiveness was judged from the presence or absence of delamination when the edges of the nonwoven fabric were pinched with fingers.
(Judgment criteria)
○: No delamination ×: Delamination Darcy transmission coefficient;
The Darcy permeability coefficient of each nonwoven fabric was measured using a palm porometer (a porous material automatic pore size distribution measurement system, manufactured by Porous Material). As a measurement liquid, a standard liquid (trade name: Galwick) having a surface energy of 15.7 dyn / cm was used. The larger the Darcy permeability coefficient, the smaller the permeation resistance of the liquid.
4). Evaluation of the dispersibility of the thermoplastic powder or fusing point;
Visual evaluation was made from an electron micrograph (magnification: 350 times) on the surface of each nonwoven fabric. Good dispersion of thermoplastic powder or fusing point, high uniformity of size ○, dispersibility of thermoplastic powder or fusing point almost good, non-uniform size The case where both Δ, dispersibility and size were not good was evaluated as x.
From the results in Table 1, it was found that according to the production method of the present invention, a nonwoven fabric having excellent mechanical strength that does not cause delamination can be produced.
