Description
本発明によれば、上記式(1)の潤滑剤をダイヤモンド状カーボン(DLC)保護層上に塗布することにより、従来技術に比較して、潤滑剤とダイヤモンド状カーボン(DLC)保護層の表面間の結合を高めることができ、潤滑剤とダイヤモンド状カーボン(DLC)保護層の結合性の高い磁気記録媒体を提供することが可能となる。
末端にヒドロキシル基(−OH)を有するパーフルオロエーテルであるダイキンファインケミカル研究所製デムナムSA(100.0g)およびピリジン(5.9g)を、3M社製ノベックHFE−7100(100.0g)中に溶解させ、溶液の温度を0℃に冷却した。無水トリフルオロメタンスルホン酸(21.2g)を、HFE−7100(100.0g)中に溶解させ、この溶液を前記のデムナム溶液にゆっくりと滴下した。滴下後、その反応混合物の温度を室温に保持し、5時間にわたって攪拌した。NMRにより反応の終点を確認した。得られた反応混合物のHFE−7100を蒸留して除去し、純水を用いて洗浄することで、目的とするトリフレート(96.0g、収率90%)を得た。

熱重量分析(Thermogravimetric Analysis:TG)による耐熱特性評価
本発明における潤滑剤を評価するために、熱重量分析による耐熱特性評価を実施した。サンプルとして、上述のように調製した潤滑剤(分子量4000)と、従来技術であるZ−tetraol(ソルベイ・ソレクシス社製:分子量4000)を用いた。
非磁性基板(材料AL合金からなる直径95mmの磁気ディスク用基板)の主面上に、スパッタ法を用いて、膜厚50nmのCoZrNbからなる軟磁性層、膜厚5nmのCoNiFeSiからなるシード層、膜厚10nmのRuからなる中間層、膜厚16nmのCoCrPt−SiO2とCoCrPtBからなる磁性層を順次形成した。
4−1.ボンド率
上記手法により作製した磁気記録媒体について、加熱炉において加熱処理(110℃、30分)を行い、加熱後のサンプルについて、洗浄前と洗浄後の潤滑層の膜厚(トータル潤滑剤膜厚およびボンド潤滑剤膜厚)を測定し、ボンド率を算出した。結果を表1に示す。なお、潤滑層の膜厚は、フーリエ変換式赤外分光光度計(FT−IR)により測定した。
上記手順で作製した表1に示す初期膜厚量を有する各サンプルに対し、加熱減量評価を実施した。
