Description
The present invention relates to a battery in which an electrode body and an electrolytic solution are sealed with a film material.
A so-called laminate type battery has been developed in which an accommodation space for accommodating an electrode body and an electrolytic solution is formed of a film material. In a laminated battery, film materials are brought into close contact with each other at the outer periphery of the housing space, and the housing space is sealed from the atmosphere by the contact portion. For example, when the temperature rises abnormally, gas is generated from the electrolyte solution, etc. As a result, the internal pressure of the battery may rise abnormally. In a laminate type battery, when the pressure rises abnormally, the sealed case is broken, and there is a possibility that gas, electrolyte, or the like is scattered around.
In the technique of Patent Document 1, in order to preferentially open the sealed case at a specific position, it is necessary to form a portion with reduced adhesion strength in a part of the adhesion part of the sealed case. Therefore, for example, it is necessary to interpose a foreign substance in a part of the close contact part, or to form a non-adhesive part in a part of the close contact part, which makes the manufacturing process of the laminated battery complicated.
The present invention solves the above problems. The present invention provides a technique capable of opening a sealed case at a specific position when the internal pressure in the sealed case abnormally increases without providing a special structure for the sealed case.
A battery embodied by the technology of the present invention contains an electrode body having a positive electrode and a negative electrode, an electrolyte solution impregnated in the electrode body, a sealed case sealing the electrode body and the electrolyte solution, and a sealed case A cover is provided. The sealed case is formed of a film material, and is sealed by a close contact portion in which the film materials are in close contact with each other on the outer periphery of the housing space that houses the electrode body and the electrolytic solution. The cover is formed with a pair of facing surfaces that face each other with a sealed case interposed therebetween. And, in this battery module, the film material forming the housing space is located within the pair of opposing surfaces and said excluded range adjacent to a portion of the above-described close contact with the adhesion part of the The range adjacent to a part is located outside the range of the pair of opposed surfaces described above. Thereby, when the pressure in the accommodation space rises, the film material outside the range of the pair of opposed surfaces bulges outward from the pair of opposed surfaces, whereby the pair of opposed surfaces The close contact portion outside the range is peeled off in preference to the close contact portion within the range of the pair of opposed surfaces .
When the internal pressure of the sealed case increases, the accommodation space tends to expand. A large peeling force is applied to the close contact portion of the sealed case as the accommodation space adjacent to the close contact portion expands.
In this battery module, in a portion other than the range adjacent to a part of the contact portion, the film material constituting the accommodation space is located within the range of the pair of opposed surfaces formed in the case, and is formed in the case. Expansion is restricted by the pair of opposed surfaces that are not expanded further. In a range where a part of the close contact portion is excluded, since the expansion of the film material is restricted by the pair of facing surfaces, the peeling force acting on the close contact portion is restricted. On the other hand, in a range adjacent to a part of the contact portion, the film material constituting the accommodation space is located outside the range of the pair of opposed surfaces formed in the case, and the pair formed in the case Expansion is not restricted by the opposing surface. In a range adjacent to a part of the close contact part, expansion of the film material is not restricted by the pair of facing surfaces, so that the peeling force acting on the part of the close contact part becomes large. As a result, when the internal pressure in the sealed case rises abnormally, the above-mentioned part of the close contact portion (the film material forming the accommodation space adjacent to the close contact portion is outside the range of the facing surface formed in the case. Will be peeled off preferentially.
According to this battery module, it is possible to open the sealed case at a specific position (a part described above) when the pressure in the sealed case increases without providing a special structure for the sealed case.
In the battery module described above, it is preferable that a notch is provided on at least one of the pair of opposed surfaces of the cover. And it is preferable that the film material of the range adjacent to a part of contact | adherence part is located in the range of the notch.
Thereby, the above-described cover can be realized with a relatively simple structure.
According to the present invention, it is possible to break the sealed case at a specific position when the internal pressure in the sealed case rises abnormally without providing a special structure for the sealed case of the laminated battery. Since it is not necessary to provide a laminated battery with a special structure, a battery module with high safety can be manufactured at a lower cost without making the manufacturing process of the laminated battery complicated.

As shown in FIGS. 1, 2, and 3, the battery covers 41 and 42 include a front surface side half cover 41 and a back surface
The front surface side half cover 41 is formed with a

The front-side half cover 41 is formed with a
As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the
FIG. 4 schematically shows a state in which the internal pressure of the
In addition, the shape of the battery covers 41 and 42 is not limited to the shape of a present Example. To generalize the above-described technique, in the range where the
The shape of the battery covers 41 and 42 illustrated in the present embodiment is an example that embodies the above technical idea. For example, instead of providing the

FIG. 6 shows the results of an experiment in which the internal pressure was increased until the close contact portion of the sealed case peeled off, and the position of the
