第2分周器207へ入力する。第2分周器207では、チャンネル指定に従って、制御回路211から指定される分周数で、その信号を分周し、比較器204へ出力する。比較器204では、前記と同様に、第2分周器207からの入力信号と基準発振器202からの入力信号とを比較する。なお、発振器206は、例えば、電圧制御発振器VCO(Voltage Controlled Oscillator)などが挙げられ、電圧に基づいて、その発振周波数を変化させる。以上が、一般的な、周波数シンセサイザの動作であるが、図16で示したシンセサイザ201では、更に、温度センサー208が検知する温度により、第2の分周器207の分周数を制御している。動作を簡単に説明すると、温度センサー208で、周囲温度を検出し、その温度をA/D変換器(Analog/Digital変換器)209でデジタル信号に変換し、予め、温度による補正値が記憶された不揮発性メモリー210から、所定の値を読み出して、制御回路211へ出力し、更に、第2分周器207の分周数を変更する。
図1は、本発明の実施の形態におけるシンセサイザ119のブロック図である。図1において、本発明のシンセサイザ119は、MEMS振動子を有する基準発振器102から出力された基準発振信号を基に第1局部発振信号を生成する第1シンセサイザ部101と、第1シンセサイザ部101から出力された第1局部発振信号に基づいて、温度変化によるMEMS振動子の周波数変動を検出する周波数変動検出器108と、周波数変動検出器108の検出結果に基づいて、メモリー117を参照しながら第1局部発振信号の周波数調整を行う第1周波数調整部107とを備えている。
キャリアが、433本、並んで、一つの受信チャンネルを構成している。従って、受信信号の検波、復調は、少なくとも、1kHz以内の精度で行わないと、隣接するキャリアの識別ができない。通常、受信した信号は、局部発振器からの局部発振信号と乗算されることにより、周波数変換され、例えば、560kHzなどの中間周波数に落とされる。この周波数の差異が、少なくとも前記のキャリア間隔1kHz以下である必要がある。言い換えると、局部発振信号の周波数差異もこのキャリア間隔以内に抑える必要があり、この範囲で周波数調整を行う必要がある。この周波数差異条件である1kHz以内を以下、「キャリア識別の周波数差異条件」と呼ぶことにする。
る整数部分と、分周数Nが入力される分数部分により構成され、この分周数を切り替えることにより、発振器105からの出力周波数の変動を抑える。これにより、基準発振器102の温度による周波数変動に伴って変化する第1シンセサイザ部の出力の周波数変動を抑え、シンセサイザ全体として温度補償を行っている。なお、分数分周はフリップフロップ回路などで構成されるアキュムレータ111にある加算値を加えていくことにより達成さる。アキュムレータ111は、オーバーフローを起こした場合に1を出力し、それ以外は0を出力する。足し算器112は、第1周波数調整部107から出力された基本の分周数Mに、アキュムレータ111から出力された0又は1を加算し、可変分周器113の分周数をM又はM+1とする。この分周数M、及び、M+1を交互に切り替えることにより、分数分周数の制御を実現している。例えば、アキュムレータがkビットで構成されている場合、その分周数は(数1)で、発振周波数は(数2)で表される。ここで、fREF2は、比較器104に入力される周波数であり、比較周波数と呼ばれる。なお、前記したようにfREF2=fREF1/Rである。

ないことになる。周波数が33Hzに下がった場合の図4(c)では、(b)と同じ検出タイミングだが、波形の立ち下がりのタイミングがうまく捉えられることになる。つまり、周波数が低いほうが、より波形の立ち上がり、立ち下がりを捉えることが容易ということになる。なお、今回は、検出のタイミングを5msecおきと言うことで説明したが、このタイミングを小さくすることで、検出できる周波数は大きくできることになる。ただ、一般に、周波数を上げると、回路規模、消費電流が上がってしまう。MEMS振動子114の変動周波数に合わせて、回路を設計すれば良いのだが、要は、通常の温度センサーとは、逆に、周波数が小さいほうが精度が向上するという点が、本実施の形態の特徴のひとつである。
図1、及び、図5、及び、図6を用いて、本発明の実施の形態2に関して、説明する。図1、及び、図5、及び、図6の符号は特に断らない限り、実施の形態1と同様の意味である。また、図5では、図3と異なり、ベースバンド信号が復調される復調部120が付加された受信装置の構成となっている。図6では、図5と異なり、MPEGデコーダー124が付加された電子機器の構成となっている(表示部は図示なし)。

実施の形態1、及び、実施の形態2では、国内のデジタルテレビ放送(ISDB−T)について説明し、その信号帯域であるUHF帯(470MHz〜770MHz)の最高周波数770MHzを仮定した。本実施の形態では、本発明が効果を有するキャリア周波数の範囲について説明する。つまり、キャリア周波数が低い場合は、温度センサーの温度精度が悪い場合でも、所定の周波数調整分解能を満足する場合がある。そのキャリア周波数閾値fthに関して説明を行う。基準発振器を構成する振動子としては、シリコン振動子を用いた場合とする。
した従来の温度センサーの精度である0.5、0.1、0.05とすると、(表3)に示すようになる。一部の条件では、ISDB−Tの帯域を満足できるが、全帯域に渡って満足することが困難となる。
本実施の形態4に関して、図11を用いて説明する。ISDB−Tでは、一旦、受信信号をIF信号に変換する方式をとっている。ISDB−Tのワンセグ放送の場合、このIF信号の周波数は560kHz程度である。このIF信号は、第2シンセサイザ部121からの出力信号と、第2周波数変換器122で乗算され、ベースバンド信号に変換される。これは、直流近傍の成分を持つデジタル信号である。123は周波数変動検出部であり、以下に示すような手法により、受信周波数と第1局部発振周波数の差異を検出するための回路ブロックである。これらの構成要素により、周波数変動検出器108は構成されている。
ボルとガードインターバル信号で構成されている。このようなガードインターバル信号が挿入されていることにより、受信信号と、その一定期間(例えば、有効シンボル分の期間)遅延させた信号との相関を取る(どれだけ、その信号が似ているのかを調べる)と、ガードインターバル信号が検出された期間ごとに、相関ピーク出力が出力されることになる(コピーなので、信号が似ていると判断される)。なお、相関処理は、信号の畳み込み積分を行うことで実現され、デジタル信号処理では、各ビットの排他的論理和(XOR)の否定をとり(XORのBar)、それらを加算することによって得られる。このように検出された相関出力を使って、受信信号と、第1シンセサイザ部101からの局部発振出力の差異を検出し、周波数変動とすることができる。実施の形態1でも説明したように、MEMS振動子114の周波数温度特性が悪い場合、この周波数変動のほとんどは、基準発振器102の温度による周波数変動に起因する(Δft≫Δfc1)。したがって、この検出された差異から、温度変動を見積もることが可能となり、この結果を第1周波数調整部107へ送ることにより、第2分周器106を調整し、周波数補償を行う。
差異値を直接検出しているからである。前記の例では、MEMS振動子114の周波数温度係数にかかわらず、±2.5Hzの周波数精度は変わらない。ワンセグ放送では、前記のように、エラーフリーを得るためには、±50Hzに周波数精度を抑えることが必要条件となるが(周波数の絶対値±50Hzのずれで、エラーフリーが実現できなくなるため)、本実施の形態を用いることで、振動子を何を選ぶかに、左右されずに、所定の周波数精度を実現することができる。後は、第2分周器106での周波数調整分解能を高くすることで、細かい温度補正を可能としておけばよい。また、前記の±2.5Hzの周波数精度は、±50Hzの1/20の周波数精度であり、十分な性能が得られていると言える。なお、この周波数精度±2.5Hzはこの値に限るものではなく、システムの要求仕様に合わせて、決定すれば良く、少なくとも、エラーフリーの周波数誤差条件では±50Hzを満たせば良い。
本発明の第5の実施の形態に関して、図13、及び、図14を用いて説明する。図13のシンセサイザでは、第2周波数調整部125を有している点が、実施の形態4と異なる。周波数変動検出部123からの周波数差異の検出情報を、第1周波数調整部107、及び、第2周波数調整部125へ送り、第1シンセサイザ部101、及び、第2シンセサイザ部121の両方を調整している。これにより、第1周波数調整部107のみで調整する場合と比較して、ひとつのシンセサイザで調整する周波数量を減らすことが可能となり、周波数調整のための周波数シフト幅に起因する位相雑音性能の劣化の不具合を軽減することが可能となる。この不具合は、第1シンセサイザ部101の第2分周器106を用いて、周波数調整する場合、一回の調整量、つまり、周波数シフト幅を大きくしすぎると、第1局部発振信号の位相雑音が増加して、シンセサイザとしての基本性能が悪化してしまうという不具合である。また、シンセサイザとしての基本性能が悪化すると、受信装置、電子機器の性能へも悪影響をもたらすことになる。
本発明の第6の実施の形態に関して、説明する。説明には、実施の形態5で用いた図14を利用する。本実施の形態では、基準発振器102の一部であるMEMS振動子114と、第1周波数変換器118、周波数変動検出器108とが、一体的に同一の半導体基板に形成されている(図中に記載なし)。なお、第1周波数調整部107は、本実施の形態では、第1シンセサイザ部101に含まれ、同様に同一半導体基板に形成されている。また、MEMS振動子114はシリコン振動子である。本発明の温度検出方法を用いると、周波数温度特性の悪いシリコン振動子などのMEMS振動子が使用可能となるため、このような構造が達成される。シリコン振動子などの半導体を基材とした振動子は、半導体プロセス、例えば、RIE(Reactive Ion Etching)などの加工プロセスや、フォトリソグラフィープロセスで形成できるため、製造プロセス上の整合が高いことなども一体化を容易にする。また、このようなプロセスを用いることもあり、振動子自体も小型化できることに加え、一体化により、配線スペース、実装スペースも減り、格段の小型化を図ることが可能となる。
本発明の第7の実施の形態に関して、説明する。説明には、実施の形態5で用いた図14を利用する。本実施の形態では、基準発振器102の一部であるMEMS振動子114と、第1周波数変換器118、周波数変動検出器108とが、別の半導体基板に形成されている。つまり、実施の形態6のような一体化がなされていない構造である。これは、意図的に行われることもある。その理由として挙げられる状況の例を以下に、説明する。第1に、MEMS振動子の共振周波数の初期ばらつきが大きい場合が挙げられる。MEMS振動子の歩留まりにより、シンセサイザ、或いは、受信装置の歩留まりが左右されてしまうからである。第2に、製造プロセスルール上の理由が挙げられる。例えば、受信装置を構成するシンセサイザ部や、復調部がひとつの半導体ICに集積されているような場合、そのルールは、復調部に合わせる方が、より小型化、低コストが図れ、その半導体プロセスは、例えば、90nmや、65nmのルールが採用される。ここで、90nmや、65nmは、フォトリソグラフィーの際の最小寸法(通常、ゲート幅に相当)を表している。デジタル回路の寸法は、最小寸法に合わせて、小さくなる。これが、最小寸法が小さいプロセスが選ばれる理由である。しかしながら、MEMS振動子の寸法は、最小寸法に合わせて、小さくならないため、このプロセスルールの微細化に起因する小型化の効果はない。通常、プロセスルールの最小寸法が小さくなれば、単位面積当たりの半導体ICの費用は増大するため、この小型化の効果がない場合は、むしろMEMS振動子を別に作って、外付けしたほうが、コスト的に有利であるといった場合もある。第3に、本実施の形態の受信装置以外の装置ブロックから、基準クロックを供給してもらう場合などのMEMS振動子自体を内蔵する必要がない場合である。
本発明の第8の実施の形態に関して、図15を用いて説明する。図15は、実施の形態1の図1で、温度センサー126が付加された構成で、第1周波数調整部107の調整の判断手段として、周波数変動検出器108と併用されている。
、種々の周波数の信号を生成する方法などが挙げられる。また、基準発振器102の後に、直接分周器を接続し、周波数を調整するような構成にしてもよい。その構成例は、基準発振器の後に、第2の分周器を配置し、その第2の分周器を調整し、周波数を調整するような構成である。また、基準発振器の負荷インピーダンスを調整するような構成でも良い。その構成例は、基準発振器の負荷容量として、スイッチ機能を有するコンデンサを複数用いて、そのスイッチを切り替えることにより、負荷容量を離散的に切り替えて、周波数調整を行うような構成例である。以上、種々の温度補償型シンセサイザに関して説明したが、要は、所定の周波数調整分解能での周波数調整が達成できる温度補償方法であれば良い。

- MEMS振動子を有する基準発振器から出力された基準発振信号を基に第1局部発振信号を生成する第1シンセサイザ部と、
前記第1局部発振信号に基づいて受信信号を周波数変換する第1周波数変換器と、
前記第1周波数変換器の出力側に接続された第2周波数変換器と、
前記第2周波数変換器に第2局部発振信号を供給する第2シンセサイザ部と、
前記第2周波数変換器の出力信号に基づいて前記MEMS振動子の周波数変動を検出する周波数変動検出器と、
前記周波数変動検出器の検出結果に基づいて、前記第1局部発振信号の周波数調整を行う第1周波数調整部と、
前記周波数変動検出器の検出結果に基づいて、前記第2局部発振信号の周波数調整を行う第2周波数調整部と、を備え、
前記受信信号は所定のキャリア間隔で複数のキャリアが並んだマルチキャリア信号であり、
前記第1周波数調整部及び第2周波数調整部が一回の調整量で調整する周波数調整量はともに前記キャリア間隔以内である受信装置。 - MEMS振動子を有する基準発振器から出力された基準発振信号を基に第1局部発振信号を生成する第1シンセサイザ部と、
前記第1局部発振信号に基づいて受信信号を周波数変換する第1周波数変換器と、
前記第1周波数変換器の出力側に接続された第2周波数変換器と、
前記第1周波数変換器の出力信号に基づいて前記MEMS振動子の周波数変動を検出する周波数変動検出器と、
前記第1局部発振信号の周波数調整を行う第1周波数調整部と、
温度センサーと、を備え、
前記受信信号は所定のキャリア間隔で複数のキャリアが並んだマルチキャリア信号であり、
前記第1周波数調整部は、前記受信信号と前記第1局部発振信号との同期確立前は前記温度センサーの検出結果に基づいて前記第1局部発振信号の周波数調整を行い、
前記受信信号と前記第1局部発振信号との同期確立後は前記周波数変動検出器の検出結果に基づいて前記第1局部発振信号の周波数調整を行い、かつ、一回の調整量で調整する周波数調整量はともに前記キャリア間隔以内とした受信装置。 - 前記周波数変動検出器は、前記第1局部発振信号の周波数と受信信号の周波数との差異に基づいて、温度変化による前記MEMS振動子の周波数変動を検出する請求項1又は請求項2に記載の受信装置。
- 前記周波数変動検出器が検出する周波数分解能は、300Hz以内である請求項1又は請求項2に記載の受信装置。
- 前記周波数変動検出器が検出する周波数分解能は、100Hz以内である請求項1又は請求項2に記載の受信装置。
- MEMS振動子の1次の温度係数が、1.2ppm/℃以上である請求項1又は請求項2記載の受信装置。
- 前記周波数変動検出器は、受信信号に含まれる基準シンボルに基づいて前記MEMS振動子の周波数変動を検出する請求項1又は請求項2に記載の受信装置。
- 前記周波数変動検出器は、受信信号に含まれるガードインターバル信号に基づいて前記MEMS振動子の周波数変動を検出する請求項1又は請求項2に記載の受信装置。
- 前記MEMS振動子は、前記第1シンセサイザ部と前記周波数変動検出器とが異なる半導体基板に形成された請求項1又は請求項2に記載の受信装置。
- 前記MEMS振動子と、前記第1シンセサイザ部と、前記第1周波数変換器と、前記周波数変動検出器と、前記第1周波数調整部とが同一の半導体基板に形成された請求項1又は請求項2に記載の受信装置。
- 請求項1又は請求項2に記載の受信装置と、
前記第2周波数変換器の出力側に接続された信号処理部と、
前記信号処理部の出力側に接続された表示部とを備えた電子機器。
