Description
Claims (10)
- マルチ光ファイバレセプタクル・プラグ組立体であって、
接続端子の壁を貫通して設けられた開口部内に設けられるように構成され、第1の位置合わせ及びキー結合特徴部を構成する光ファイバレセプタクルと、
光ファイバケーブルの端部に取り付けられた光ファイバプラグであって、前記レセプタクルの前記第1の位置合わせ及びキー結合特徴部に作動的に係合する相補形の第2の位置合わせ及びキー結合特徴部を備え、前記相補形の第2の位置合わせ及びキー結合特徴部は、前記プラグを所定の向きで前記レセプタクルに確実に嵌合させる光ファイバプラグと、
前記プラグ内に設けられた位置合わせスリーブとを備え、
前記光ファイバレセプタクルが、さらに、内部キャビティを形成するレセプタクルハウジングと、少なくとも一部分が前記内部キャビティ内に配置されるマルチファイバレセプタクルフェルールと、フェルールブーツと、ばね心出しカフと、付勢ばねと、フェルールリテーナとを備え、
前記付勢ばねが前記ばね心出しカフの後面に係合し、前記ばね心出しカフの全体的に凹状の前方面が、前記マルチファイバレセプタクルフェルールの後面に係合する前記フェルールブーツの全体的に凸状の後面に係合し、前記フェルールブーツの中心が前記フェルールの端面上の中心点と軸方向に整列し、前記付勢ばねによって生成されたばね付勢力を、前記マルチファイバレセプタクルフェルールの端面で実質的に心出しする、
ことを特徴とするマルチ光ファイバレセプタクル・プラグ組立体。 - 前記レセプタクルの前記第1の位置合わせ及びキー結合特徴部は、少なくとも1つのキーを備え、
前記プラグの前記相補形の第2の位置合わせ及びキー結合特徴部は、前記少なくとも1つのキーを受け入れるよう寸法決めされた少なくとも1つのキースロットを備えている、
請求項1に記載のマルチ光ファイバレセプタクル・プラグ組立体。 - 前記プラグは、前記位置併せスリーブを収容する外側ハウジングを更に有し、
前記少なくとも1つのキーは、前記レセプタクルハウジングに形成された第1の突出特徴部を備え、
前記少なくとも1つのキースロットは、前記位置合わせスリーブに形成された第1のスロットと、前記外側ハウジングに形成された第2のスロットを備え、
前記第1の突出特徴部は、前記第1のスロット及び前記第2のスロット内に同時に受け入れられる、
請求項2に記載のマルチ光ファイバレセプタクル・プラグ組立体。 - 前記光ファイバプラグは、通路を画定する内側ハウジングと、マルチファイバプラグフェルールと、フェルールブーツと、ばね心出しカフと、前記通路内に少なくとも部分的に設けられた付勢ばねとを含むプラグサブアッセンブリを更に有し、
前記付勢ばねが前記ばね心出しカフの後面に係合し、前記ばね心出しカフの全体的に凹状の前方面が、前記マルチファイバプラグフェルールの後面に係合する前記フェルールブーツの全体的に凸状の後面に係合し、前記フェルールブーツの中心が前記フェルールの端面上の中心点と軸方向に整列し、前記付勢ばねによって生成されたばね付勢力を、前記マルチファイバプラグフェルールの端面で実質的に心出しする、
請求項1に記載のマルチ光ファイバレセプタクル・プラグ組立体。 - 前記レセプタクルの前記第1の位置合わせ及びキー結合特徴部と、前記プラグの前記相補形の第2の位置合わせ及びキー結合特徴部とが、前記位置合わせスリーブ内でレセプタクルフェルールとこれに対向したプラグフェルールを大まかに位置合わせするのを助ける、
請求項1に記載のマルチ光ファイバレセプタクル・プラグ組立体。 - マルチ光ファイバレセプタクル・プラグ組立体であって、
第1の位置合わせ及びキー結合特徴部を構成する光ファイバレセプタクルを備え、該レセプタクルが、
内部キャビティを画定するレセプタクルハウジングと、
前記レセプタクルハウジングに固定されたフェルールリテーナと、
前記レセプタクルハウジングの前記内部キャビティ内に少なくとも一部分が配置され、前記フェルールリテーナ内に少なくとも一部分が配置されるレセプタクルフェルールと、
前記レセプタクルフェルールを前記レセプタクルハウジングの方向に付勢する付勢ばねとを有し、
前記マルチ光ファイバレセプタクル・プラグ組立体が、さらに、前記レセプタクルと嵌合するように構成され、相補的な第2の位置合わせ及びキー結合特徴部を構成する光ファイバプラグを備え、
前記光ファイバプラグは、
通路を画定するプラグ外側ハウジングと、
前記通路内に設けられ、内側ハウジングと、前記内側ハウジング内に少なくとも一部分が配置されたプラグフェルールと、付勢ばねとを備えているプラグサブアッセンブリと、
前記内側ハウジングの前方端部に隣接して設けられた位置合わせスリーブとを有し、
前記プラグフェルールは、前記位置合わせスリーブ内に少なくとも一部分が配置され、
前記プラグの前記第2の位置合わせ及びキー結合特徴部は、前記プラグを前記レセプタクル内に挿入して前記レセプタクルフェルールと前記プラグフェルールを対向した関係に正しく位置合わせすると、前記レセプタクルの前記第1の位置合わせ及びキー結合特徴部に作動的に係合し、
前記レセプタクル及びプラグが、各々、前記レセプタクルフェルールの後部と前記プラグフェルールの後部とにそれぞれ係合するフェルールブーツと、対応するフェルールブーツの後端に係合するばね心出しカフとを備え、
それぞれの前記付勢ばねが対応する前記ばね心出しカフの後面に係合し、それぞれの前記ばね心出しカフの全体的に凹状の前方面が、対応する前記レセプタクルフェルールの後面と前記プラグフェルールの後面に、それぞれ、係合する前記フェルールブーツの全体的に凸状の後面に係合し、前記フェルールブーツの中心が前記フェルールの端面上の中心点と軸方向に整列し、前記付勢ばねによって生成されたばね付勢力を、それぞれ、前記レセプタクルフェルールの端面と前記プラグフェルールの端面との中央で、実質的に心出しする、
ことを特徴とするマルチ光ファイバレセプタクル・プラグ組立体。 - 前記レセプタクルフェルール及び前記プラグフェルールは各々、同一形状のマルチ光ファイバフェルールであり、
前記レセプタクルの前記少なくとも1つの位置合わせ及びキー結合特徴部は、非同一形状のプラグフェルールが前記レセプタクル内に挿入されて前記レセプタクルフェルールと突き合わされるのを阻止する排除特徴部を更に有する、
請求項6に記載のマルチ光ファイバレセプタクル・プラグ組立体。 - 前記レセプタクルハウジングは、ねじ山付き部分を有し、
前記プラグは、前記プラグを前記レセプタクルに固定するよう前記レセプタクルの前記ねじ山付き部分に係合するねじ山付き結合ナットを有する、
請求項6に記載のマルチ光ファイバレセプタクル・プラグ組立体。 - 光ファイバレセプタクル及びプラグであって、
内部キャビティと、該内部キャビティ内に構成設けられた第1の位置合わせ及びキー結合特徴部を構成する光ファイバレセプタクルと、
前記内部キャビティ内に設けられた前記レセプタクルのフェルールと、
通路を画定するプラグ外側ハウジングを有する光ファイバプラグと、
前記プラグを前記レセプタクル内に挿入すると、前記レセプタクル内に少なくとも部分的に設けられると共に前記プラグ内に少なくとも部分的に設けられる位置合わせスリーブと、
前記位置合わせスリーブ内に少なくとも部分的に設けられると共に前記外側ハウジング内に少なくとも部分的に設けられる前記プラグのフェルールとを有し、
前記外側ハウジング及び前記位置合わせスリーブは、前記プラグを前記レセプタクルに嵌合させると、前記レセプタクルの前記第1の位置合わせ及びキー結合特徴部に係合して前記レセプタクルフェルールを所定の向きで前記プラグフェルールに位置合わせするようにする第2の相補形の位置合わせ及びキー結合特徴部を備え、
前記レセプタクルとプラグの各々が、前記プラグが前記レセプタクルに挿入されたとき、前記レセプタクルおよびプラグの前記フェルール同士を互いに向けて付勢する付勢部材組立体を備え、
前記レセプタクルとプラグの少なくとも一方の前記付勢部材組立体が、円形付勢ばねとばね心出しカフとフェルールブーツとを備え、
前記円形付勢ばねが前記ばね心出しカフの後面に係合し、前記ばね心出しカフの全体的に凹状の前方面が前記フェルールブーツの全体的に凸状の後面に係合し、前記フェルールブーツが、前記レセプタクルとプラグの少なくとも一方の前記フェルールの後面に係合し、前記フェルールブーツの中心が前記フェルールの端面上の中心点と軸方向に整列し、前記円形付勢ばねによって生成されたばね付勢力を、前記レセプタクルとプラグの少なくとも一方の前記フェルールの端面で実質的に心出しする、
ことを特徴とする光ファイバレセプタクルおよびプラグ。 - 前記第1の位置合わせ及びキー結合特徴部は、キー及びキースロットのうちの一方を備え、
前記第2の位置合わせ及びキー結合特徴部は、キー及びキースロットのうちの他方を備えている、
請求項9に記載の光コネクタ。
