背景技术
出于通信目的的光纤的使用持续增长。数据、语音和其他通信网络越来越多地使用光纤来承载信息。传统的光纤缆线包括在语音、视频和数据信息的传输中传导光的光纤。光缆具有带宽大、功率损耗低的优点。光缆的典型应用包括光纤到路边(FTTC)、光纤到户(FTTH)、光纤到桌(FTTD)、光纤到天线(FTTA)、集气室、立管、局域网(LAN)和闭路电视***(CCTV)。
在光纤网络中,每个单独的光纤通常被连接至源和目的地设备两者。另外,沿着源与目的地之间的光纤行进,可在光纤上进行不同连接或耦合以调整光纤的长度。每个连接或耦合需要连接器和适配器以对准光纤,使得光可在连接上传输而不中断。
已经采用各种各样设计的光纤连接器来端接光纤缆线并且促进这些缆线与其他缆线或其他光纤传输设备的连接。典型的光纤连接器包括套圈,该套圈将一个或更多个光纤安装在连接器内并使其居中。套圈可由陶瓷或其他合适的材料制成。多光纤缆线端接在连接器中,并且缆线的多个单独的光纤可端接在套圈中。普遍类型的光纤缆线是多光纤扁平或带状缆线。
适配器被配置为沿着由相对端口形成的纵向路径接纳相对的光纤连接器。第一端口和第二端口用于接纳类似的光纤连接器,形成单工适配器的光信号通路。双工适配器具有在第一侧上并排的两个端口和在第二侧上的两个相对的端口。每个端口具有内部结构,诸如钩、对准套筒或切口,其形成为适配器主体的外壳的内体结构的一部分,以接纳第一光纤连接器和第二光纤连接器,其中与第二光纤连接器相对的第一光纤连接器可以是相同类型的光纤连接器或不同的光纤连接器。每个光纤连接器具有至少一个套圈或两个并排的套圈,其中至少一个光纤位于套圈内。单工光纤连接器具有一个套圈。双工光纤连接器具有两个套圈。光纤连接器可具有机械传送套圈,机械传送套圈具有多个光纤(诸如十二(12)或二十四(24))。每个套圈组装有套圈凸缘和套圈本身,并且套圈被接收在对准套筒支架开口内。包括套圈、套圈凸缘和对准套筒支架的套圈组件全部被套圈组件的远端处的弹簧偏置。
发明内容
在一个方面中,如图1所描绘的SFP印迹双工适配器在这两个端口之间具有约26.2mm的适配器外壳宽度以及具有安装夹子的约30.7mm的总宽度。安装夹子围绕适配器外壳放置,从而允许适配器固定在面板内。SFP印迹单面适配器具有安装夹子的约18.0mm的总宽度,并且适配器外壳为约13.1mm。当光纤连接器未安装在端口中时,***防尘帽以帮助确保碎屑不收集在适配器端口内。一对SC印迹双工适配器可以与安装夹子竖直堆叠,如图2所示。每个端口可以被配置为并排地接收两个光纤连接器,并且通过竖直堆叠的第二对,适配器被配置为四重适配器。在本发明中,将对准套筒支架开口从竖直位置旋转到水平位置,在对准套筒支架开口之间添加桥接构件允许移除外壳材料,如图4中所描绘的,没有安装夹子将SFP印迹双工适配器外壳的总印迹沿着水平侧从约13.75mm减小至12mm并且沿着竖直侧从12.45mm减小至约9.50mm。这种空间节省允许在当前部署在数据仓库中的现有面板内的更高密度配置。然后,本发明的该方面允许更大密度的光纤连接器,由此提高现有数据中心中的数据吞吐量,在现有数据中心中,不可能重新配置现有数据仓库。这也提高了新数据仓库的数据吞吐量。数据仓库是多个服务器,其以光信号的形式提供用于通过互联网递送的数据。
在另一方面,当部署如图8和图10中所描绘的壁后光学连接器时,沿着光轴的适配器外壳长度减小。在数据仓库中,适配器被固定在面板内,并且面板从地板到达天花板。每个单独的面板可沿着地板跟踪***移动。适配器的减小的尺寸增加了部署的可移动面板的数量,作为数据仓库中较大机架***的一部分。
在本发明的另一个方面中,壁后光纤连接器包括外壳、具有套圈和凸缘的套圈组件、形成套圈组件的偏置弹簧以及被配置成用于固定至外壳上的内体。当组装时,内体和外壳保持形成壁后连接器的套圈组件、偏置弹簧。在这个实施例的另一个方面中,内体被配置成具有多个相对的钩,这些钩被配置成接纳第二相对的光纤连接器。在该实施例的另一个方面中,内前体具有敞开的侧壁。这允许对准套筒支架开口的一端部分打开,由此减小双工光纤连接器的尺寸。在没有侧壁的情况下,提供架子以保持套圈并将其对准在对准套筒支架开口内,从而移除对准套筒作为单独的组件。

具体实施方式
如图1中所描绘的数千个光纤适配器(40a)被部署在数据中心或数据仓库中。适配器具有在第一侧上的至少一个端口和在第二侧上的相对的端口,称为被配置为接纳两个单工连接器的单工适配器。双工适配器(40a)具有围绕适配器外壳(45)固定的安装夹子(41)。安装夹子(41)将适配器(40a)固定在面板(未示出)中以供如发明内容中所描述的使用。现有技术的双工适配器(40a)的宽度为约26.2mm,从安装孔到作为安装夹子(41)的一部分形成的安装孔的总宽度为30.7mm。双工适配器由两个单工适配器组成。如图1所示,单工适配器宽度为约18.0mm,安装支架(未示出)之间的总宽度为约13.1mm。当适配器端口没有光纤连接器(10,12)(参照图11)时,适配器端口通过防尘帽(22)固定以防碎屑。长期以来需要减小光纤适配器(40a)的外部尺寸,以允许更多适配器部署在数据中心的适配器面板的现有布局内。在图1中,该适配器被配置为接收单工光纤连接器,该单工光纤连接器是具有一个套圈的光纤连接器,与图12中所示的双工光纤连接器对照,该双工光纤连接器具有形成有套圈组件(16a、16b)的两个套圈。该单工连接器是其中具有光纤的单个套圈,该光纤在支持电子器件和软件的管理下处理发送(Tx)和接收(Rx),如现有技术中已知的。适配器(40a)具有2LN1的总长度,其中LN1由诸如SFP或SC的适配器印迹的类型确定。
如图2中所示,四重适配器由一组竖直堆叠的SC双工适配器(40)形成,如图6所示,并且被配置成用于接纳一组双工光纤连接器(12)。第一组双工光纤连接器(12)被接纳在第一端口(40d.1)中。第二组双工光纤连接器(12)被接纳在第二端口(40d.2)中。在与端口(40d.1)相对的端口(40d.4)处是第三组双工光纤连接器(12)。第一组连接器和第三组光纤连接器形成光信号通信路径。

Claims (12)
1.一种光纤适配器组件,包括:
外壳,其具有外壁厚度,所述外壳具有第一侧壁、第二侧壁和从所述第一侧壁延伸至所述第二侧壁的宽度,所述外壳具有第一端壁、第二端壁和从所述第一端壁延伸至所述第二端壁的高度,所述第一侧壁、所述第二侧壁、所述第一端壁和所述第二端壁限定了包括第一双工连接器端口和第二双工连接器端口的第一大致矩形的容器,所述第一双工连接器端口沿所述高度在所述第二双工连接器端口上方,所述第一大致矩形的容器是非分区的,使得所述第一双工连接器端口对所述第二双工连接器端口是敞开的,并且所述光纤适配器组件在所述第一大致矩形的容器内从所述第一侧壁延伸到所述第二侧壁不受任何壁的影响;
相对的第一对准套筒支架开口对,其包括第一对准套筒支架开口和第二对准套筒支架开口,所述第一对准套筒支架开口对位于所述第一双工连接器端口内,并且在所述第一对准套筒支架开口和所述第二对准套筒支架开口之间连接有第一桥接构件;
相对的第二对准套筒支架开口对,其包括第三对准套筒支架开口和第四对准套筒支架开口,所述第二对准套筒支架开口对位于所述第二双工连接器端口内,并且在所述第三对准套筒支架开口和所述第四对准套筒支架开口之间连接有第二桥接构件;
其中,所述外壳的宽度小于或等于12.90mm,所述外壳的高度小于或等于9.50mm;以及
其中,所述宽度大于所述高度。
2.根据权利要求1所述的光纤适配器组件,其中,
所述外壳具有第一端口侧和与所述第一端口侧相对的第二端口侧,所述第一双工连接器端口和所述第二双工连接器端口通过所述第一端口侧开口,所述光纤适配器组件还包括通过所述第二端口侧开口的第三双工连接器端口和第四双工连接器端口,所述第三双工连接器端口和所述第四双工连接器端口位于与所述第一大致矩形的容器相对的第二大致矩形的容器中,其中所述光纤适配器组件被配置为将所述第一双工连接器端口和所述第二双工连接器端口中的第一双工光纤连接器和第二双工光纤连接器配合,其中所述光纤适配器组件被配置为将所述第三双工连接器端口和所述第四双工连接器端口中的第三双工光纤连接器和第四双工光纤连接器配合。
3.根据权利要求2所述的光纤适配器组件,其中,所述第一双工光纤连接器、所述第二双工光纤连接器、所述第三双工光纤连接器以及所述第四双工光纤连接器是相同类型的双工光纤连接器。
4.根据权利要求2所述的光纤适配器组件,其中,所述第一双工光纤连接器和所述第二双工光纤连接器是第一类型的双工光纤连接器,而所述第三双工光纤连接器和所述第四双工光纤连接器是第二类型的双工光纤连接器,其中所述第二类型的双工光纤连接器是壁后光纤连接器。
5.根据权利要求1所述的光纤适配器组件,其中,所述外壳还包括安装夹子,所述安装夹子具有比所述外壳的所述宽度更宽的宽度尺寸,所述安装夹子的所述宽度尺寸小于18.0mm。
6.根据权利要求4所述的光纤适配器组件,其中,所述壁后连接器还包括释放闩锁,所述释放闩锁形成为所述外壳的一部分,以用于将所述壁后连接器能释放地固定在所述适配器的端口内。
7.根据权利要求6所述的光纤适配器组件,其中,所述外壳被配置为在所述第三双工连接器端口和所述第四双工连接器端口中的每一个中接收内体,每个内体包括相对的突出部对,所述外壳的所述第一侧壁和所述第二侧壁针对每个内体限定了相对的开口对,每个相对的突出部对被布置为与各自的开口对闩锁。
8.根据权利要求1所述的光纤适配器组件,其中,所述外壳被配置成在单工SC印迹中容纳两个双工光纤连接器。
9.根据权利要求1所述的光纤适配器组件,其中,所述第一侧壁分别为所述第一双工连接器端口和所述第二双工连接器端口限定了第一键槽和第二键槽。
10.根据权利要求9所述的光纤适配器组件,其中,所述第二侧壁分别为所述第一双工连接器端口和所述第二双工连接器端口限定了第三键槽和第四键槽。
11.根据权利要求10所述的光纤适配器组件,其中,所述第一键槽和所述第二键槽中的每一个具有第一截面尺寸,并且所述第三键槽和所述第四键槽中的每一个具有小于所述第一截面尺寸的第二截面尺寸。
12.根据权利要求1所述的光纤适配器组件,还包括所述第一双工连接器端口中的第一对相对的适配器闩锁钩和所述第二双工连接器端口中的第二对相对的适配器闩锁钩。
