Description
図1は、本発明の原理によるスタガキャスト送信機100の一部分の構成図である。図を単純にするよう示していない他の構成要素が完全な送信機に必要であるということは当業者が分かる。それらの構成要素が何であるかということと、図示した構成要素とともにそれらの他の構成要素を選択し、設計し、実施し、相互接続する方法とを当業者は更に分かる。
ピクチャ6及び13の場合、通常モードのパケット・ストリームにおけるビデオ・ピクチャは間違っているが、ロバスト・モードのパケット・ストリームにおける相当するビデオ・ピクチャは完全であり、利用可能である。これらのピクチャの場合、セレクタ230’はロバスト・モード復号器240”(JVT)からのビデオ・ピクチャを、図7における「J」によって示すように出力端子215に結合する。これらのピクチャの場合には通常モードのビデオ・ピクチャは何ら存在しないので、ロバスト・モード復号器240”からのロバスト・モード・ビデオ・ピクチャはロバスト・モードのフレームの記憶機構250”と通常モードのフレームの記憶機構250’とに結合される。
Claims (17)
- 移動体受信機にスタガキャストする方法であって:
第1品質での、コンテンツを表す第1信号を符号化する工程;
該第1品質とは異なる第2品質での、該コンテンツを表す第2信号を符号化する工程;
該第1符号化信号を遅延させる工程;
該遅延させた第1符号化信号と、該第2符号化信号とを備えたコンポジット信号を生成する工程であって、該コンポジット信号は、前記コンポジット信号における該第2符号化信号を識別するデータを収容する信号を更に備え、該識別するデータを収容する信号は、該第2符号化信号の品質に関するデータを収容する工程;
及び
該コンポジット信号をブロードキャストする工程を備えることを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項1記載の方法であって:
該コンテンツが解像度を有するビデオ信号であり;
該識別するデータが該第2符号化ビデオ信号の該解像度を規定するデータを備えることを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項1記載の方法であって、該第2符号化信号を符号化する工程が、該第1符号化信号の符号化手法に対してロバストな符号化手法を用いて該第2符号化信号を符号化する工程を備えることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項3記載の方法であって:
該第1符号化信号を符号化する工程が、該コンテンツを表す信号を8−VSB変調を用いて変調することにより、該コンテンツを表す信号をチャネル符号化する工程を備え;かつ
該第2符号化信号を符号化する工程が、該コンテンツを表す信号を4−VSB変調と2−VSB変調との一方を用いて変調することにより、該コンテンツを表す信号をチャネル符号化する工程を備えることを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項4記載の方法であって、該コンテンツを表す信号がビデオ信号であり:
該第1符号化信号を符号化する工程が更に、該コンテンツを表す信号を、MPEG2ビデオ圧縮符号化を用いてソース符号化し、該ソース符号化信号を、MPEG−2パケット形式を用いてシステム符号化する工程を備え;
該第2符号化信号を符号化する工程が更に、該コンテンツを表す信号を、JVTビデオ圧縮符号化を用いてソース符号化し、該ソース符号化信号を、MPEG−2パケット形式を用いてシステム符号化する工程を備えることを特徴とする方法。 - 第1品質での、コンテンツを表す第1符号化信号と、該第1品質とは異なる第2品質での、該コンテンツを表す第2符号化信号とを備えるコンポジット信号を受信する移動体スタガキャスト受信機であって、該第1符号化信号は該第2符号化信号に対して遅延しており、
入力端子に結合され、該第1品質を有する該第1符号化信号、及び該第2品質を有する該第2符号化信号を抽出する逆多重化装置;
該抽出された第1符号化信号及び該抽出された第2符号化信号に応じ、低品質を有する符号化信号を供給するセレクタ;
該セレクタに結合され、低品質を有する符号化信号を復号化する復号器;及び
該逆多重化装置と該セレクタとの間に結合され、該抽出された第2符号化信号を遅延させ、それにより、該第1符号化信号及び該第2符号化信号が時間上、再整合化される遅延装置を備え;
該コンポジット信号は更に、該コンポジット信号において該第2符号化信号を、該低品質を有するものとして識別するデータを収容する信号を備え;
該逆多重化装置が、該識別するデータを収容する信号を該コンポジット信号から抽出し、該第2符号化信号を該識別するデータによって識別されるものとして抽出し;
該識別するデータを収容する信号が該第2符号化信号の品質に関するデータを収容し;
該逆多重化装置が、該第2符号化信号を、該識別するデータにおける該品質と所望の品質とを比較することに基づいて識別することを特徴とする受信機。 - 請求項6記載の受信機であって:
該コンテンツが解像度を有するビデオ信号であり、該識別するデータが該第2符号化ビデオ信号の該解像度を規定するデータを備え;
該逆多重化装置が、該第2符号化信号を、該識別するデータにおける該解像度と所望の解像度とを比較することに基づいて識別することを特徴とする受信機。 - 請求項6記載の受信機であって、該第2符号化信号に用いる符号化手法が、該第1符号化信号に用いる符号化手法に対してロバストであることを特徴とする受信機。
- 請求項8記載の受信機であって、
該受信コンポジット信号を復調する復調器を備え、該第1符号化信号が8−VSB変調を用いてチャネル符号化され、該第2符号化信号が4−VSB変調と2−VSB変調との一方を用いてチャネル符号化されることを特徴とする受信機。 - 請求項9記載の受信機であって:
該コンテンツを表す信号がビデオ信号であり:
該第1符号化信号が更に、MPEG−2パケット形式を用いてシステム符号化され、MPEG2ビデオ圧縮符号化を用いてソース符号化され;
該第2符号化信号が更に、MPEG−2パケット形式を用いてシステム符号化され、JVTビデオ圧縮符号化を用いてソース符号化され;
該復号器が更に、該第2符号化信号を、MPEG−2パケット形式を用いてシステム復号化するシステム復号器と、該第2符号化信号を、JVT復号化を用いてソース復号化するソース復号器とを備えることを特徴とする受信機。 - 請求項6記載の受信機であって:
該第1信号及び該第2信号がチャネル符号化され;
該第1符号化信号と該第2符号化信号との一方が、該第1符号化信号と該第2符号化信号との他方に対してよりロバストなチャネル符号化を有することを特徴とする受信機。 - 移動体スタガキャスト受信機において用いる方法であって:
第1品質での、コンテンツを表す第1符号化信号と、該第1品質とは異なる第2品質での、該コンテンツを表す第2符号化信号とを備えるコンポジット信号を受信する工程であって、該第1符号化信号は該第2符号化信号に対して遅延しており、該コンポジット信号は更に、該コンポジット信号において該第2符号化信号を、低品質を有するものとして識別するデータを収容する信号を備え、該識別するデータを収容する信号は、該第2符号化信号の品質に関するデータを収容する工程;
該第1品質を有する該第1符号化信号及び該コンポジット信号からの該識別するデータを該コンポジット信号から抽出する工程;
該識別するデータにおける品質と、所望の品質との比較に基づいて該第2符号化信号を抽出する工程;
該抽出された第2符号化信号を遅延させ、それにより、該抽出された第1符号化信号及び該抽出された第2符号化信号が時間上、再整合化される工程;
低品質を有する該抽出された第2符号化信号を選択する工程;及び
該選択された、抽出された第2符号化信号を復号化する工程を備えることを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項12記載の方法であって:
該コンテンツが解像度を有するビデオ信号であり、該識別するデータが該第2符号化ビデオ信号の該解像度を規定するデータを備え;
該第2符号化信号を抽出する工程は、該識別するデータにおける該解像度と所望の解像度との比較に基づいて該第2符号化信号を識別することを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項12記載の方法であって、該第2符号化信号に用いる符号化手法が、該第1符号化信号に用いる符号化手法に対してロバストであることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項14記載の方法であって、
該受信コンポジット信号を復調する工程であって、該第1符号化信号が8−VSB変調を用いてチャネル符号化され、該第2符号化信号が4−VSB変調と2−VSB変調との一方を用いてチャネル符号化される工程を備えることを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項15記載の方法であって:
該コンテンツを表す信号がビデオ信号であり:
該第1符号化信号が更に、MPEG−2パケット形式を用いてシステム符号化され、MPEG2ビデオ圧縮符号化を用いてソース符号化され;
該第2符号化信号が更に、MPEG−2パケット形式を用いてシステム符号化され、JVTビデオ圧縮符号化を用いてソース符号化され;
該復号化する工程が更に、該第2符号化信号を、MPEG−2パケット形式を用いて復号化する工程と、該第2符号化信号を、JVT復号化を用いてソース復号化する工程とを備えることを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項12記載の方法であって:
該第1信号及び該第2信号がチャネル符号化され;
該第1符号化信号と該第2符号化信号との一方が、該第1符号化信号と該第2符号化信号との他方に対してよりロバストなチャネル符号化を有することを特徴とする方法。
