Description
The present invention relates to a quantitative analysis method for quantitatively analyzing carbides including free carbon, a quantitative analysis device, and a program for causing the quantitative analysis device to function.
Conventionally, when quantifying free carbon contained in carbides such as silicon carbide, the free carbon content is determined using an electric resistance heating furnace carbon concentration meter (hereinafter referred to as ER furnace carbon concentration meter) in accordance with JIS standard (R1616-1994). It is calculated (see, for example, Patent Document 1). In this method, the sample is heated to 850 ° C. in an oxygen stream, the generated carbon dioxide (and carbon monoxide) is measured, and the amount of carbon dioxide due to oxidation of silicon carbide is calculated and corrected from the increase in mass of the sample after heating. The combustion-mass correction method is used.
However, in place of the ER furnace carbon concentration meter, when using a high frequency induction heating furnace carbon concentration meter (hereinafter referred to as HF furnace type carbon concentration meter) which is widely used at present, strict temperature control is required unlike the ER furnace carbon concentration meter. Therefore, free carbon cannot be completely desorbed under the temperature conditions specified by JIS standards, and the generated CO 2 cannot be measured with a carbon densitometer. In addition, even when using the ER furnace carbon concentration meter, it is necessary to individually heat each sample for about 10 minutes and then measure the carbon concentration, which is not suitable for measuring many samples in a short time. There was a problem.
The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and its purpose is divided into a stage of heating carbide containing free carbon and a stage of heating carbide and oxide after heating for carbon concentration measurement. In the present invention, first, the mass of a carbide (such as silicon carbide or boron carbide) containing free carbon is measured before heating. Subsequently, the carbide containing free carbon is heated for a predetermined time at a predetermined temperature using a muffle furnace or the like. Then, the mass of the carbide and oxide (silicon oxide or boron oxide) after heating is measured. Subsequently, the heated carbide and oxide are put into a carbon concentration meter, these are combusted, and the carbon concentration after combustion is measured. Before and after the measured heating, the model equation derived based on the first reaction equation obtained when heating the carbide containing free carbon and the second reaction equation obtained when burning the carbide and oxide after the heating is used. Substitute the mass and carbon concentration.
When calculating the free carbon content, the model equation can be expressed by equation (1) by taking the mass fraction using the first reaction equation and the second reaction equation. On the other hand, the carbon content in the carbide is similarly expressed by the formula (2). Then, by substituting the measured mass and carbon concentration before and after heating into these model formulas, the free carbon content in the carbide containing free carbon and the carbon content in the carbide can be calculated. The temperature heating process can be performed by replacing it with a muffle furnace or the like, and even when an HF furnace type carbon densitometer is used, the free carbon content can be quantitatively analyzed.
In the present invention, it is divided into two steps, a step of heating carbide containing free carbon and a step of burning the heated carbide and oxide for carbon concentration measurement, and is obtained from the reaction equation of each step. The free carbon content and the carbon content are calculated by substituting the mass and carbon concentration before and after the model formula. Thereby, the process of heating to a predetermined temperature for a predetermined time can be performed by replacing it with a muffle furnace or the like, and it is possible to quantitatively analyze the free carbon content even when an HF furnace type carbon concentration meter is used. . In addition, a process for heating at a predetermined temperature for a predetermined time is performed in a muffle furnace (electric resistance furnace) capable of heating many samples, and combustion and measurement processing in a shorter time is performed by an HF furnace type carbon densitometer, or Since the ER furnace carbon densitometer can be used in parallel, the present invention has an excellent effect, such as enabling quantitative analysis of many carbides in a short time.
Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is an explanatory view showing the first stage of the heat treatment. In the present embodiment, an example using silicon carbide raw material powder as a carbide will be described. This silicon carbide raw material powder generally contains silicon carbide and a small amount of free carbon (impurity carbon). In the first stage, silicon carbide (SiC) 1 (hereinafter, sample 1) containing free carbon, a
Then, the
Here, a, b, and c are coefficients indicating the ratio ( number of moles) of the substance amount. The mass W1 of the sample 1 (silicon carbide containing free carbon) can be expressed by the equation (6) from the first reaction equation. Note that the mass per mol is carbon C = 12, silicon carbide SiC = 40, and silicon oxide SiO 2 = 60.
Similarly, the mass W2 of the sample 11 (silicon carbide and silicon oxide) can be expressed by the equation (7) from the first reaction equation.
Since O 2 and CO 2 in the first reaction equation are gases, the mass is ignored. In the heat treatment in the first stage, free carbon is completely extracted, and the difference between the mass W2 and the mass W1 indicates a mass change from SiC to SiO 2 and a mass change due to heating of free carbon. It is.

The coefficients a, b and c are obtained by solving the simultaneous equations of the equations (6), (7) and (9) obtained from the first reaction equation and the second reaction equation. Then, by substituting these obtained coefficient values into the equation (10), as shown in the equation (1), the free carbon content F.V. A first model expression indicating C [%] is derived.

In
Similarly, when the heated silicon carbide B 4 C and oxide B 2 O 3 are further combusted, that is, the chemical reaction formula showing the combustion in the second stage is represented by the formula (13).
In these cases as well, as in the method described in the first embodiment, the model equation and the value of each coefficient can be obtained from the chemical reaction equations represented by the equations (12) and (13). Then, by substituting the measured masses W1 and W2 and the carbon concentration A into this model formula, it becomes possible to calculate the free carbon content, the carbon content in B 4 C, and the total carbon content.
In addition, when a plurality of oxides of any carbide MC (for example, MO 2 and MO 3 ) are present (for example, when WO 2 and WO 3 are generated such as WC (tungsten carbide)), the chemical reaction formula is It can represent with Formula (14) and Formula (15). The coefficients X and Y indicate the generation ratio of MO 2 and MO 3 , provided that X: Y is constant.
Here, when obtaining all the coefficients, the masses W1 and W2 and the carbon concentration A before and after heating are substituted, and an appropriate value is input to each coefficient, and a fitting process using the least square method or the like is performed using a computer. It is only necessary to determine an optimum coefficient value by executing this. Thereby, a model formula can be obtained similarly.
