Claims (5)
- 液体を吐出するための吐出口を有するプリントヘッドを用いてプリント媒体に画像を形成する画像形成装置であって、
この画像形成装置を作動させるための燃料電池と、
前記吐出口の周囲を覆うためのヘッドキャップと、
前記燃料電池の作動に伴って発生する水を貯溜するタンクと、
このタンクに貯溜された水を前記ヘッドキャップ内に導く通路と、
前記ヘッドキャップの側壁の所定高さの位置にその一部を形成するように組み込まれて気体透過性および液体非透過性を有し、前記吐出口の周囲を覆った状態にある前記ヘッドキャップ内に前記通路から導かれる水を所定量保持させるための水量規制窓と
を具えたことを特徴とする画像形成装置。 - 液体を吐出するための吐出口の周囲を覆うためのヘッドキャップを有する画像形成装置であって、
この画像形成装置を作動させるための二次電池と、
この二次電池を充電するための燃料電池と、
この燃料電池の作動に伴って発生する水を貯溜するタンクと、
このタンクに貯溜された水を前記ヘッドキャップ内に導く通路と、
前記ヘッドキャップの側壁の所定高さの位置にその一部を形成するように組み込まれて気体透過性および液体非透過性を有し、前記吐出口の周囲を覆った状態にある前記ヘッドキャップ内に前記通路から導かれる水を所定量保持させるための水量規制窓と
を具えたことを特徴とする画像形成装置。 - 前記タンクは、前記ヘッドキャップよりも高い水頭位置にあることを特徴とする請求項1または請求項2に記載の画像形成装置。
- 前記タンク内に貯溜された水を前記通路を介して前記ヘッドキャップに供給するためのポンプをさらに具えたことを特徴とする請求項1または請求項2に記載の画像形成装置。
- 前記吐出口の周囲を覆った状態にある前記ヘッドキャップ内の圧力を検出するための圧力センサと、この圧力センサからの検出信号に基づいて前記ポンプの作動を制御するための制御装置とをさらに具えたことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の画像形成装置。
