Description
The present invention relates to a sheet discharging apparatus and an image forming apparatus such as a copying machine or a printer.
2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, image forming apparatuses such as copiers and printers have been developed and spread widely from business use to personal use and from monochrome images to color images due to digitization of information and IT. Such digitization is a cause of promoting the combination of printer functions. In other words, a printer that has been positioned as an output of information terminal equipment such as a personal computer has been a product that combines what was conventionally an independent device such as a copy, facsimile, and image input device (image scanner). An image forming apparatus that has been developed and has a plurality of functions and saves space has been commercialized. A typical example of the product is an MFC (multifunction copier) in which a conventional copier is digitized and a network connection function is added, or an MFP (multifunction printer) in which an image input function is added to a conventional printer.
In the image forming apparatus employed in the MFC and MFP as described above, sheets are generally stacked on the discharge stacking unit face-up (the recording surface is face up). Such face-up stacking has an advantage that the copying state can be recognized immediately. On the other hand, in a conventional printer, the sheets output in page order are generally stacked in face-down stacking (recording surface facing down) so that the sheets are arranged in a page order.
By the way, with the digitization of printers and copiers, in a complex image forming apparatus, when used as an output of digital information from a personal computer or server (ie as a printer), when used as a copy or facsimile, Recognizes and aligns the sheets discharged on the discharge stacking unit when, for example, a plurality of originals are continuously read by an ADF (automatic document feeder) and images are continuously formed based on the plurality of image information. Therefore, it is necessary to be able to switch between face-up loading and face-down loading.
In addition, the image forming apparatus employed in the above-described MFC and MFP is required to have a maximum discharge load capacity in a limited space. This is because the use frequency increases due to having various composite functions, and more sheets are discharged in a short time as the image forming apparatus itself is speeded up. In recent years, a product that enables a discharge stacking capacity of about 500 sheets of plain paper even on the basis of a small printer has appeared.
As a configuration example of the conventional image forming apparatus as described above, an MFP based on a small printer will be described with reference to FIG.
The conventional image forming apparatus shown in FIG. 9A forms an image on the upper surface of the sheet fed from the
FIG. 9B is a perspective view illustrating a configuration in the vicinity of the
Further, a neutralizing
Further, in order to control the conveying force in accordance with the strength of the sheet to be conveyed, there is known a technique in which the amount of overlap of the comb-like roller pair is variable depending on the strength of the sheet. Specifically, as disclosed in Patent Document 2 (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 11-322105), one discharge roller is supported so as to be detachable from the other discharge roller, and the other is supported by an urging means having elasticity. It is the structure which urges | biases toward.
However, when a sheet discharge means is provided at the junction of two conventional transfer paths (face-up transfer path and face-down transfer path), the sheets discharged from the face-up discharge stack and the face-down discharge stack It was difficult to achieve both discharge performance. The mechanism will be described below. FIG. 10 is a diagram for explaining the difference in discharge direction in the discharge means provided at the junction of the two conveyance paths. FIG. 10 (a) shows a case where a normal nip roller pair is used, and FIG. A case where a comb-like roller pair is used is shown.
As shown in FIG. 10A, the normal nip roller pair has a regulating force for conveying the sheet in a substantially tangential direction from the contact of the roller pair. Accordingly, both the sheet conveyed from the lower right and the sheet conveyed in the substantially horizontal direction are discharged from the contact point of the roller pair toward the substantially tangential direction. However, a normal pair of nip rollers cannot give the sheet rigidity, and the leading edge of the discharged sheet is immediately bent and landed near the apparatus main body on the discharge tray, causing a catch or rounding.
On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 10B, the comb-like roller pair does not have a force for regulating the sheet discharge direction in the roller pair itself. In addition, since the rigidity applied to the sheet by the comb-shaped roller pair extends to the upstream side of the roller, the discharge direction of the sheet discharged from the comb-shaped roller pair is affected by the directionality of the conveying path on the upstream side of the roller. Receive. That is, the sheet conveyed from the lower right diagonal is discharged toward the upper left diagonal, and the sheet conveyed substantially horizontally is discharged substantially horizontally.
Here, when the rigidity is provided by the pair of comb-like rollers, the sheet can be prevented from sagging as described above. However, when the rigid sheet is discharged in a substantially horizontal direction, another problem occurs. Will occur. As shown in FIG. 10C, when the sheet P is discharged in a substantially horizontal direction, it may collide with a sheet bundle already stacked on the
Conventionally, as shown in FIG. 11, two transport paths (face-up stacking transport path and face-down stacking transport path) are merged and the
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide an image forming apparatus in which the sheet discharge direction is specified while the sheet is stiffened using a pair of comb-like rollers and the apparatus can be reduced in size.
In order to solve the above problems, a typical configuration of a sheet discharge apparatus according to the present invention includes a first conveyance path that guides a sheet, a second conveyance path that guides a sheet, the first conveyance path, and the second conveyance. A sheet discharge unit disposed in the vicinity of the merge position of the path; a discharge unit for stacking sheets discharged by the sheet discharge unit; and the sheet discharge unit disposed near the sheet discharge unit so as to protrude toward the discharge unit. A discharge guide member that guides the sheet discharged from the apparatus in a direction higher than the horizontal direction of the apparatus, and the sheet discharge means is a pair of upper and lower rollers each having a plurality of rollers, A pair of comb-like rollers that alternately arranges the rollers in the sheet width direction, and the discharge guide member includes the sheet discharge unit of the first transfer path and the second transfer path. Headed, upward, are disposed along the transport path being greater slope, characterized in that it is formed over the downstream from the upstream side in the sheet conveyance direction of said sheet discharging means.
According to the present invention, it is possible to make the direction of the sheet discharged from the sheet discharge unit to be higher than the horizontal direction of the apparatus regardless of the angle of entry from the first transfer path or the second transfer path to the sheet discharge unit. it can. Therefore, in particular, when a comb-teeth roller pair is used as the sheet discharge means, the sheet discharge direction can be defined while adding rigidity to the sheet. As a result, it is possible to prevent the discharged sheets from being rounded and the sheets stacked on the discharge unit from being pushed out, so that the sheet discharge performance can be improved without increasing the size of the apparatus.
Embodiments of an image forming apparatus according to the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. In addition, each Example described below is an illustration for facilitating the understanding of the invention, and the dimensions, materials, shapes, relative arrangements, etc. of the components described in the Examples limit the scope of the present invention. It is not a thing.
{第1実施例}

FIG. 1 is a schematic configuration diagram of an image forming apparatus according to the first embodiment. As an overall configuration of the image forming apparatus, an
First, the
Next, the printer
The configuration and the sheet conveying operation will be described along the sheet conveying path of the printer

[Face down discharge]
In addition, a
Further, a merging
The

[Characteristic configuration of discharge unit]
Next, the configuration of the discharge unit including the
As shown in FIG. 2, the
In the vicinity of the discharge
As the face-down discharge, the sheet that has been reversed and conveyed through the
As a face-up discharge, if the sheet conveyed through the

The image forming apparatus shown in FIG. 4 differs from the one shown in FIG. 1 in the shape of the
In FIG. 4, the first conveying
By adopting such a sheet conveyance path arrangement, it is possible to reduce the space required in the lateral direction of the apparatus, so that the installation area of the apparatus can be reduced.
Here, the difference is that the
In the absence of the
As described above with reference to the two examples, even when the discharge means is provided at the junction of the two conveyance paths, by providing the
{第2実施例}
{Second Example}
The structure of the discharge unit according to the second embodiment of the present invention will be described. FIG. 5 is a perspective view for explaining the configuration of the discharge portion according to the second embodiment, and FIG. 6 is a cross-sectional view for explaining the attack of the discharge portion according to the second embodiment, which overlaps with the description of the first embodiment. About the part to attach, the same code is attached and explanation is omitted.
As shown in FIG. 5, in this embodiment, the discharge
As shown in FIG. 6, in this embodiment, the discharge guide member 60 (ad) provided in the discharge portion includes a
As in the first embodiment, the positional relationship of the discharge guide members is from the slightly upstream side of the
With the above-described configuration, when face-up discharge is carried along the
In addition, the discharge angle is slightly lowered due to bending of the
In this embodiment, the discharge

{第3実施例}
{Third embodiment}
The structure of the discharge unit according to the third embodiment of the present invention will be described. FIG. 7 is a perspective view illustrating the configuration of the discharge unit according to the third embodiment, and FIG. 8 is a cross-sectional view illustrating the configuration of the discharge unit according to the third embodiment. Parts are denoted by the same reference numerals and description thereof is omitted.
As shown in FIGS. 8 and 9, in the present embodiment, the

The leaf springs of the discharge guide members 70 (a to d) are set so that they do not bend when the sheet is thin paper and slightly bend when the sheet is thick paper at the time of face-up discharge conveyed in a substantially horizontal direction. Accordingly, like the effect obtained in the second embodiment, when the thick paper is conveyed, the discharge
The discharge guide members 70 (a to d) are electrically connected to the grounding portion of the apparatus via the main body frame. Accordingly, the sheet passing through the
