BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a boot ring of a joint device used in a vehicle such as an automobile.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In vehicles such as automobiles, constant velocity joints are used as joints for transmitting engine driving force from a drive shaft to a driven shaft. In this constant velocity joint, the joint part of the bearing structure that connects the drive shaft and the driven shaft is covered with a bellows-shaped boot filled with grease, and when the vehicle turns, the connection angle between the drive shaft and the driven shaft is changed. However, the driving force is transmitted from the drive shaft to the driven shaft. At this time, the boot is sealed by fitting a seal part at both ends to a fitting part formed on a case of a constant velocity joint or a drive shaft, and reducing a diameter of a metal boot ring called a clamp by a tightening machine or the like. It is attached to the constant velocity joint by fastening to the outside of the part (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
[0003]
Here, the boot has a sealing function that prevents the grease that lubricates the joint portion from flowing out and prevents entry of foreign matters such as water and dust. The constant velocity joint has a function of rotating at a high speed and transmitting a driving force from the driving shaft to the driven shaft while changing a connection angle between the driving shaft and the driven shaft. For this reason, it is preferable that the boot ring used in the constant velocity joint has a simple ring shape with no protrusions in order to avoid interference with surrounding members.
[0004]
By the way, the boots are usually molded from a synthetic resin such as a synthetic rubber or a thermoplastic elastomer in consideration of heat resistance, cold resistance and durability. For this reason, grease may exist in the boot, and the seal portion easily slips between the case made of metal of the constant velocity joint and the drive shaft, and the sealing performance is easily impaired.
[0005]
On the other hand, the constant velocity joint is a joint that is attached to the connecting part of the drive shaft and the driven shaft and transmits the driving force of the engine from the drive shaft to the driven shaft. It is rotated. For this reason, as shown in FIG. 8, a load F1 is applied to the
[0006]
Therefore, in the constant velocity joint, as shown in FIG. 9A, for example, a seal groove 4a is formed along the entire circumference of the fitting portion 4 formed on the case or the drive shaft, and the seal groove 4a By providing the protrusions 4b on both sides, the sliding of the

Although the boot rings 10 and 12 of the first and second embodiments are seamless rings, the boot ring of the present invention is a ring having a connecting portion such as an engagement structure and a joint structure in addition to the seamless ring. There may be.
[0023]
In the first and second embodiments, the constant velocity joint is described as the joint device using the boot ring. However, if the joint device uses the boot, the use target is limited to the constant velocity joint. It is not a thing.
[0024]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, the boot ring is provided with the pressing portion that locally presses the seal portion of the boot against both edge portions of the seal groove over the entire circumference of the inner surface. There is an effect that it is possible to provide a boot ring that can be used in a joint device and can generate a surface pressure designed in advance at a desired position in a balanced manner.
[0025]
In addition, the boot ring of the present invention can generate a necessary amount of surface pressure without providing projections or the like on the fitting portion formed on the case of the constant velocity joint or the drive shaft, and is provided at a low cost because of its simple structure. Therefore, the processing cost of the constant velocity joint can be significantly reduced while maintaining the required sealing performance.
[0026]
In addition, since the pressing portion is one or two ridges, the boot ring has an increased section modulus and can be reduced in cost by reducing the plate thickness.
